This is just one story; Nausea and Vomiting of Cancer Chemotherapy

'I was diagnosed with stage 3 non-small cell lung cancer 2 days before my 50th birthday last July 2005 I had surgery that left a few pieces of the cancer. I spent two months in hospitals and had 8 sessions of chemotherapy. I was taking 9 different meds to fight the vomiting/nausea/pain and constipation from pain meds. Most had worse side effects than poison treatments! I got pill poisoning at end of chemo and I was sick for 2 months after last chemo treatment. I asked my oncologist about a prescription for medical marijuana. He agreed. Nothing else worked. I started gaining some weight or at least not losing weight any more and was able to get off of 6 of the pills. The overall relief was heaven! I’ve had 21 radiation treatments with only 7 more to go. After the third, I started to have the same extreme side effects again. New pills were no help. A friend brought me some M.M. I started gaining a little weight again and did not throw up again for the remaining 10 treatments. It’s getting close to a year of mostly pure HELL. No new cancer as of 01/05/06. Woooowhooooo'

Because medical marijuana is the only drug that has STOPPED me wanting to just die and make my misery stop!! I have no bad side effects. The two prescription drugs I am taking are Zofran for nausea, vomiting and Marinol for appetite, a 30-day supply of Zofran cost $3688.00, Marinol 30 day supply cost $1386.00. The medical marijuana helps far more and costs only about $440.00 a month. But I can’t afford it with no insurance help. The worst side effect I have experienced was uncontrollable happiness. Marijuana is a psychoactive drug with a direct effect on the centers for nausea in the brain and maybe reverses the effects of chemotherapies. Go Figure. Can anyone tell me why anybody would spend millions and millions of dollars to synthesize the exact components of marijuana when the FDA and the others that stand to lose $$$$ swear there is no medical value in marijuana, only detrimental properties that would ruin our society?'

I've just found a lump on my dog, if it's the worst anyone know if cannabis can help? Sorry if there's a thread on this already can't focus at all to go through them all.

Today i went to the hospital and was started on a new therapy course for tinnitus, this is a new course within the nhs and has only been going for 9 months, the girl who i had my appoinment with was one of the founders of this therapy course.

Right so basically she's dead set against the idea of if you have tinnitus your pretty much stuck with it as theres fuck all any one can do about it!

When i was told i had tinnitus after the hearing tests and mri scans the consultant back then said this to me, basically i have to learn to live with it so since then, 2 years ago, i have done, but over the last few months it has become worse, to the point where i have to come home from work as i dont feel safe up ladders because the ringing has become so intense it gives me serious head aches and the only way i can through it is by lying in bed with my headfones on.

The course is basically designd to train your hearing so the muscles in your ear, that pull on the choclea arnt straining wich is actually where the noise of tinnitus comes from, in my case the middle part of my coclear has been damaged.

So im sat hear now typing with a brand new set of hearing aids in specifficaly programmed for the hearing loss ive sufferd to due excessive and prolonged noise abuse, dj for 10+ years!

Man its weird, im hearing everything in high def, but more the higher tones, things like keys tapping, plastic bags being ruffled, knifes tapping on chopping boards etc etc, she sdaid it will take a few hrs for me to get used to it, i cant really feel them if im honest.

So the idea is the aids have been set to there lowest setting and every six weeks they will be adjusted depending on how the tinnitus is reacting to them, basically if the muscle in the ear has to strain less the tinnitus becomes less severe over time, im pretty much stuck with hearing aids now but if this works i will happily wear them for the rest of my days and im sure some members on here would to.

As an addition to the therapy im going to be using the erb along side as "j" we will call her, was very intrested when i told her that ill be doing this as she has never been able to get to speak to someone who would be willing to do this!!

I think the weed does really help, its no miracle cure but it most definatly takes you away from it, it doesnt make it stop but it just fades it away sort of thing, im pretty low on bud atm and with no grow on, im going to have to buy it but my dealer knows his stuff and his weed is always decent!

Ill be updating this as things proceed, how the tinnitus is reacting how my hearing should be improving and how the erb is having an effect along side the hearing aids!
