Two arrested after police find huge haul of cannabis

A MAN and woman have been arrested after hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of cannabis was seized in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The man, aged 43, was arrested after police stopped a car and found cannabis wrapped in sellotape in the footwell of the vehicle, in Wyken Croft, at about 5.30pm.

A woman, aged 42, was also arrested after officers uncovered cannabis during raids at a property in Holbrooks and business in Ansty.

Both are being quizzed by police.

Insp Paul Joyce, from Coventry Force CID, said: “This all started as a single vehicle being stopped and a quantity of drugs being recovered but it led to a number of raids.

“We’re committed to getting illegal drugs off the streets and this seizure will have significantly affected the supply of illegal drugs in the region.”
