This evening the trim and popcorn buds from some Northern Lights Blue recently harvested was pulled out and prepared for dry sifting. I the screen that was used was salvaged from the front of a box of women's body care products. The method used was to first hand pick the buds and more desirable material from the bag then fill a jar 2/3rds full, the material was broken up as it went in. A small hard plastic plectrum (anything similar would do) was thrown into the mix to encourage the resin heads away from the material when shook. A piece of the salvaged screen is then placed over the top of the jar full of broken up buds and a plectrum, then held in place with cable ties. Then the jar was shook over a wide glass dish for collection and hand pressed.
The trim

The result of 6 jars, 2/3rds full, shook fairly lightly for 5 mins each

After being pressed

A bud from the NLB

The remaining trim will be saved for the arrival of some bubble bags. In the meantime the is another bag of Black Russian to get a sifting so until then......
