I'm using 2 cfl's at 125w each , one red, one blue ....

As they have to be close to the plant I am wondering how this affects the lower leaves?

Cheers

If the bottom leaves are'nt getting enough light they will yellow and fall off. It is important to create a good even canopy, those 125wcfl's dont have much penetration so you need to get as many budsites close to the bulb as possible. Trimming off any branches that hav'nt made it to the top by the end of the stretch and any lower growth more than a foot from the top will allow you to get the best from them imo.
