Before I start I’d once again like to say a massive thank you to Tommy & Sweet Seeds for sending out these new 3rd Generation Auto strains for us to try, and of course the fine folk who run UK420 for allowing this to happen.
With 6 strains to choose from, it was a difficult choice to pick which we were gonna crack as they all sound lovely, although from the start, the Sweet Special Auto was always a must, but we finally settled on:
- 2x Sweet Special Auto
- 2x Mohan Ram Auto
- 1x + Speed Auto

I can’t tell you how excited I was to get this going

The setup is identical to my previous grows, but to make this diary complete I’ll be using the following:
.:| Vegging – MicroBox |:.
- Mylar Lined PC case
- 3x 23w CFL’s
- PC Fans for intake/exhaust

.:| Flowering - Tent |:.
- DR60 60x60x140
- 250w Dual Spec HPS & Euro Reflector
- 4” Ruck Fan & Rhino Carbon Filter

Yeah I'm sorry, it's the same photo from my current grow with the filthy CF cover
.:| Pot Sizes |:.
- Round 3” (72.6mm) pots for first 10-14 days
- Square 6.5 Litre final pots
.:| Soil, Nutes & Beneficials |:.
- Plant Magic Soil Supreme
- Plant Magic Oldtimer Grow/Bloom
- Plant Magic Bio-Silicon
- Plant Magic Granules at potting up

.:| The Grand Plan |:.
This time I won’t be using the paper towel method, instead all 5 seeds will be put into a glass of water for around 12 hours, then put into their 1st 3” pots, covered with clingfilm to help get humidity up and placed in my microbox under 24 hour light. I’ve also added a reptile heat pad to help take the chill out, I’ve no idea if this will work, but we’ll soon see as I don’t want a repeat of my previous germination attempt!
Then at around 10 - 14 days, depending on growth, they’ll be potted up to their final 6.5 Litre pots, along with a good sprinkling of PM Granules then put into the tent under a 250w HPS and the light switched to 18/6 which they’ll stay on until harvest.
.:| Germination |:.
On the afternoon of Tues 17th January 2012 I put all 5 seeds into glasses of room temperature water to soak, I only wanted to leave them about 12 hours, but it ended up being closer to 18 and here’s some pics before they were submerged.

On the morning of Weds 18th January 2012 I put all 5 seeds into their first 3” round pots filled with pre-wetted PM Soil, I then covered them with clingflim and placed them into my microbox sat on top of the heat mat with no light on, at this point, only the Sweet Specials were showing slight signs of starting to crack, but it’s only early days yet, and here’s a pic of them sat in the microbox on a nice and warm heat mat.
