Bite Alarms

ritey then folks, i've got birthday money to spend, so here goes..

..thought i'd post this here, as if you put anything like this up on a specialist carp forum it just degenerates into a Fox vs Delkim slanging match, and then being told to make up your own mind anyways. as the anglers on here are slightly more laid back, i think i'll stand a chance of a decent answer :smoke:

i'm completely stuck on choosing between the new Fox EOS R's, with the remote reciever, or the slightly more expensive Delkim TXi's, also with a reciever. the Fox ones work on the roller-wheel system, same as the alarms i've got now, but the Delkims work on the vibration system. any ideas on which is 'better' (i know it depends on the actual angling situation, but ah well...) to use?

i tend to fish small-ish lakes, and dont cast much further than about 50yrs at the mo, if that makes any difference?

also, i'm using bolt-rigs, so would the increased sensitivity of the Delkims be completely necessary, as it aint as if i've gotto really strike into the fish is it.

hope my ramblings make sense, and any advice/experience with either is more than welcome :smoke:

tight lines

i want the remote-reciever option buddy. i'm using Fox Warriors at the mo, cheapest ones available, but they dont have an output socket so i can't even use a sounder box. i considered the Nev's, combined with a separate transmitter system, but i'd rather have either the EOS R's or TXi's, just need help deciding betweent the 2!

cheers for the greetings and congratulations, my head is still sore from it all ;) only 21 once tho eh!

i'm gonna go Delkims i think, following on from a heavy bankside discussion yesterday, and ASAP as my Fox Warriors semi-died last nite from the thunderstorm we had (great fun when sleeping under a 60" brolly with zip-on front to protect you! ;) )

and sminky, are they Chub Outkasts? i've got the Outkast marker and love it, dunno whether to upgrade the Hyperloops to a pair of Outkasts and the matching spod?

No mate, they are Freespirit ES's (although the Chub Outkasts are good rods for the money)

However since that picture was taken I got busy with the scapel and stripped the butt sections down to bare blanks (rod building used to be a bit of a hobby of mine  ). Gone for the minimalist look now with a couple of my own special 'custom' touches.

Tackle tart........who me?

sminky !!!! ;)

well ive got to be honest i didnt like the delks but ............................... ;)

im now in possession of 3 txis with the sounder box.

and i have to admit that they are better than the "others"...

the adjustments you can make to the p*** out of the other alarms on the market

really like the fact that the tone control reflects on the sounder box ........

old thread i know but i couldnt resist , when i was about 17 and heavily into fishing i modified my optomics bite alarm by opening it and connection a speaker wire onto the contacts in the lil speaker in the bite alarm, then fed it out the back of the bite alarm into my bivvi then connected to my speaker wire on my woga box with removable speakers , loudest bite alarm in southend that was
