Humidity at Seedling stage

Wondering how many peeps run humidifiers during your grow and what % are you aiming for at various stages

Currently I let mine ride as they take care of themselves in veg and flower but Its always a bit too low during seedling stage at 30 to 40%

Im thinking  maybe thats why my end results arent the greatest and I need up the humidity at the start.

Please chime in with your thoughts and experiences as it would help me greatly - Thanks in advance

I stopped caring about RH in veg, if it happens to be high bonus, if it's low don't care lol, never had a problem in veg when it's in the 30's-40's.

I've never done clones so my mind would change in that case, but with Seeds not bothered.

I don't care about the Rh in my veg time but in the past I used to use those cheap foggers you leave in a bucket of water 4quid or so off eBay and easily hit 80%+. Plants do seem to like it high but I didn't feel feel like I was at a disadvantage without them and they left white powdery residue in the area I got fed up of wiping it all down lol. If not for the powdery residue I'd probably still use. Think you should only use those cheap foggers with Rh water or stuff from a dehumidifier I have neither so just let my plants rough it though veg now. The plastic sheet over the net posted above is definitely getting added to my bag of tricks though great idea :hippy:

After say 2 weeks or so you could either turn your extract fan off or run it very low. Get several 1ltr plastic milk or juice bottles and cut them in half and put hot water in them and place on a heat mat. The water will stay warm and slowly evaporate. What I did yesterday ( and I'm going to check this morning) is to put my extraction fan on a timer. Off for most of the time and on for 5 minutes each hour. See if that keeps RH up whilst allowing a bit of fresh air in. Might work?

Once cuttings are potted up and in the room run 70 -80% right thru veg then drop between 50-60 % thru flower.

thanks everyone - a bit of a mixed bag of opinions.

I avoid humidity over 70% to reduce the chance of fungus, pathogens, rot and it will wet the carbon filter rendering it useless.

I tried out the humidifier on low last night in the storage box (nursery) but as I have no active extraction (just a high vent point) the humidity flew up to 85% in minutes and I bottled it as didnt want water dripping off my lights.

@Larry BadgeleyIve tried to increase the humidity by having jugs or cartons of water on the heat mat but it doesnt seem to increase it much, but not tried hot water, so will give that a try.:yep:

@The Green Manalishi VPD - as I  read it, correct me if Im way off, that if the humidity to to low the plant will transpire to much putting it into stress and sloing growth  ??????????????

@DutchFox interesting idea with plastic  - might have to give that a try

Here is a picture from last week. You get the idea with the water

I have just had a butchers in my tent. RH 70% temp 28c. Perfect conditions. The extraction will come on in 30mins for 5mins so I will check again. This seems to be working very well. Cannabis likes humidity at 70% until flower when your extraction will be on all the time anyway.
