Scopex 250 Luxmeter testing

Hey everyone,

I recently got the Scopex 250 LED from the site sponsors @Ledgrowlights-Adam and wanted to run some numbers on them to try and figure out the best height to hang them as the grow goes on.

Disclaimer: I'm not an expert or even a novice here - follow this info at your own risk! This is just a rough guide on what kind of output to expect at different distances/settings for the scopex 250.

I used the BTMETER BT-881D - I bought it pretty cheap online.

The test was conducted in a 0.6x1.2.1.8 tent with perforated mylar walls/floor. The silver stuff lol

I know people talk about lumens, but to be honest it all gets a bit too complicated for me at that point, and I imagine many others feel the same. This is just a rough guide on what kind of output to expect at different distances/settings for the scopex 250 in the above settings. Hopefully justing using lux instead of converting to PPFD will be enough for my needs.

I found the below info in a video that wasn't being downvoted to hell - I'm going to use them as a guide for my current project and see how it goes...

"CANNABIS MINIMUM LUX REQUIREMENTS

Veg phase: 8000 - 13000 Lux

Flower: 10,000 - 30,000 Lux

Comfortable/Productive Throughout: 22,000 - 28,000 Lux"

Here's the figures for my space/settings.

I've currently got my day 7 plants at 30" distance on the 100W setting, and they're doing fine so far. Let me know your thoughts.

Ron

Lux isn't applicable with LED's mate.

https://ledgrowlights.co.uk/collections/scopex-led-grow-lights/products/scopex-250

on here is a PAR map with all the information you need for hanging heights in flower

in veg you simply need to hang the light 24" minimum and run 50% power

seedlings run the light on minimum and hang the light higher, reducing the distance according to their stretch.

Hey @Exhale I understand it's not ideal, but you do get a reading on a luxmeter under an LED so couldn't the above be used as a rule of thumb?

Not accurately.

There's not much point, the plants will show you better.

But all this is doing is missing out the final sum that Migro does in his Lux - Lumen hack. If the figures are accurate enough to be used for those sums as a guide, surely making a a guide simply based on the lux figures would be just as effective in theory?

Hey @RonSwanson69 are you comparing your results against the 1 supplied with the light?

for what your doing yes it gives you a reference, it's rough estimate as the lux meter can't measure certain spectrums of the led so figures will be lower than measured via par meter.

Toke...

Hey man, not yet - is it the same one that's on the website? As that one only covered the 250W setting at 2 heights

Hey @RonSwanson69  - just thought it would be interesting to see what results you were getting at the same settings as the chart and comparing them and yeah same chart on website
