DISASTER my branch snapped off!!!

Shit on it i was doing some LST and a brand clean snapped off... it was a side branch not main stem but quite high up as branchs go its day 16 for this poor auto amnesia 

 

Be honest, be harsh, i know this is bad bur how bad? At the very least its a massive lesson learnt.

Not really that bad mate, dont worry The other branches will take over is all, which frankly is the objective with LST, a level canopy without an apical bud and all the sites getting the same energy from the plant. A small hit to yield perhaps but nothing major so dont sweat it, it's cool, as you say it's a lesson learnt and cannabis is good at teaching us lessons

Thanks man appreciate the kind words, im a little less stressed about it now, ill be much more carful in the future, im shocked at how easy it was to break

Something I read was to do LST around 4 hours after watering, i gave it ago and it was way easier

I snapped the main stem on a NL auto when doing some lst but luckily not right off...so I made a splint out of a cocktailstick & taped it back up...it actually healed.

I think it did stress the plant though...took the plant about a week to recover & it took around 7 weeks to start flowering....it eventually yielded 63 grams....so alls well as they say

@Dov1 I’m at the other end of the scale I’m too pussified and they just ping right back up. Whenever I have had the odd success I spend a bit of time massaging the stem (euphemism alert) you’ll feel it start to get ‘floppy’ then either pinch tight but bend gently or tie them once I get that ‘floppy’ action going.

I might be corrected since I’m still new to the game.

dude relax. youve just topped your plant and will be rewarded with not one replacement top, but two new shiny tops, and twice the yield from that area of the plant :-O Panic ye not brother. Its all good

 

If you were a bit quicker and more confident, you could have (possibly) gaffa taped the two pieces back together and it would have still grown out to full potential - but two tops is better than one anyway...My plants are a mess form s/cing and all sorts of abuse, it makes for more trichs and more potent weed...

 

Next time, just stick as rusty nail through the main stem for stress assisted improved growth - about a month from the end, its far more organisational and planned...and odes work a treat, and no Im not winding you up...Utube it :O

Sounds like some good advise ill try to do my main LST then and keep the other days for small adjustments.

Well im glad to hear even with a mahor stress like that you still yielding well, fortunately this wasnt the main stem.

Only really tried the popcorn buds so far, I'll do a smoke report in my dairy as iv some at 68 days ,78 days and with my daughter informing me that sir is here for a few days today I'll have these that will be at gone 80 days by the time I get to chop them now. Iv also flushed one of each days and not flushed to compare too.

@Dov1Here you go dude. Some butchery. This plant Im playing with until my new light somes, then shes going back indoor. I want her to realise some of her natural terpes form OD, Ill just flower her under LED in about a month/5 weeks or so. Between now and then I'll root prune her by about 40% and repot her in new soil for flowering, it will also stunt her a but which will keep her short enough to flower in my room. She's a wine gums clone, and a proper heavy set pheno too. I grow in coco usually, but as soon as I grew her the fist time I new she had to be organic. She's amazing!

 

Ive been quite heavy handed, but dont really photo much these days, so heres my repeater break thats about and inch wide, this has made all the other stems proper fat, the breaks create super highways that transport water/food much faster. Normally your plant is really only supplied  by 1 capillary.  The breaks multiply that ten/twenty/thirtyfold...

 

 

I think she's been vegging for about 6/8 weeks. And she is fairly big  For a pot based soil plant. Its only a 15L pot, any more than that and Ill have 6ft x 4ft monster to cope with, no joke.
