Exodus Cheese Amateur Grow.

41 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I just popped 9 exodus cheese by GHS.

just re-potted from 0.5 to 14L pots.

currently my set up is just a floor fan & a 600w HPS bulb (running at the full 600).

I have another 2 600's there if I need them, i also have an intake, out take & carbon filter etc.

No tent; instead decided to black & white a full room to give them good space to grow stop any competing etc.

however, i have a few questions & am looking for some help from someone with a bit more experience.

Q1. After re-potting, do i feed them water or wait until they have taken all of the moisture from new surrounding soil?

Q2. When is the ideal time to give my plants their first feed? (I'm using ionic grow & bloom)

Q3. How do I know when is best to fim/top my plants?

Q4. Any tips on smell reduction would also be majorly appreciated

Thanks for reading,

J

Q1: Water as and when. Follow a strict wet/dry cycle. Be careful as you are re potting into large pots. If the root system isn't big enough you may find your medium gets saturated or worse the water sits at the bottom of the pot because the roots aren't big enough to fill it. Therefore they will become unwell, quickly

Q2: Depends on what soil you use. Most (good) composts have enough nutes for a few weeks. Your plants will tell you anyway.

Q3: 4th or 5th Node. All depends on how long you are vegging for

Q4 Most if not all weed stinks. You have a CF you say? You will HAVE to vent outside

thanks for the speedy reply, majorly appreciate that!

Yeah, I've got a carbon filter. I read somewhere on this forum exodus is a very smelly strain to grow so found the CF essential.

When you say strict wet/dry cycle do you mean regimentally water them after the same periods of time being dry? sorry if i come across stupid.

I've had them 18/6 for 4 days but in the big pots since last night, the roots all looked ready to go as they had been in those pots for over a week, almost 2.

I'm using Verve multi compost, a buddy uses that and has good results with his Peyote Cookies.

@WeeBakey. Let your pots dry out before you water. DON'T overwater. This is why I said about small plants going into large pots. If it was me I would have used 0.5ltr into say 3 Ltr then 6 then 14 ltr. Unless you are growing Autos?

Ensure you get a run off when watering. This is one of the most Vital parts in the growing process. Get this right and you will be fine. There are so many instances of overwatering and the issues it raises and it comes with experience I suppose

You will get the feel of it as you lift the pots as to when to water

Stick a pic up dude. If your plants are small and the pots are huge you will have food in there for at least two weeks.

I'd be real careful with watering for the next 10 days, as @Larry Badgeley says overwatering causes all sorts of problems.

Hey thanks for the reply, I'll grab you a pic as soon as I'm back at the spot later so you can get a look at them.

Can I ask, since re potting i should just let all of the soil dry out then before watering? I feel stupid with all the questions so appreciate your patience.

No stupid questions dude, so long as you're doing your own research too.

It depends if your pots are dry when you transplant really. I usually transplant when the pots are mostly dry, then add SOME water round the plant base. Another way of doing it is to fill and fully water the pot you transplant upto a few days in advance so it can reach temp and dry a little. Either works, just don't water to run off if you have a small plant in a big pot until the roots are established.

Hey, sorry about the wait but I got you some reference pics for my plants.

Haven't added any nutes yet, they still look healthy. looking to do 5ml/l instead of the recommended 7ml by ionic.

May I ask what influenced your choice in green house seeds for exodus cheese?

@WeeBakey glad all's well. Not clicking off site links sorry bro.

I wouldn't follow any nute company's advice on feeding, good call. Half-strength is where I'd start and see what they say about it.

For all the grief GHS get, I must say, that's an attractive pitch duderoo.

I wasn't aware of that,

Hey, I'd done a bit of research and apart from the ugorg crosses I hear this is the closest to the original I'll get.

It's all Dawg & "Cali" around here just fancied a change.
