TIMER BROKE!

30 posts in this topic

Hello guys My timer has broken I’m using a luumi heavy duty timer made for 600w.
Im using a lumi 600w ballast.

its only moving 45minites for every three hours passed.

so the flowers had 29hours of light from Thursday evening to last night at 12.

do I leave them for 12 hours of darkness turn them on at 12 today and adjust an hour everyday until there back to where they was OR leave until 7pm tonight (18hrs darkness) and they will be back on the schedule before the timer broke?

Has anyone else had this problem I’m fucking gutted I did not account for the timer fucking up any advice is greatly appreciated!

should I buy the same timer again was this a 1 in a 10,000 chance or should I go with a different brand?

So they’ve had less light then they should have? That’s much better than having more light than they should have. If. That’s right then I’d Get a new timer  and then return to normal and monitor them closely.

I've had 2 lumi timers go tits up in recent weeks and now a third is playing funny fuckers.

I've bought another brand too try if this one goes tits up I'm gonna have too check my sockets/electrics too see if the problem is being caused by something else.

Those first 2 lumii timers lasted a couple years without problems mind so they aren't complete shit and the third just seems too have a sticky contact/segment or 2.. maybe..

Hey man they had  29 hours of light.

7pm Thursday lights on

timer broke.

lights still on Friday 11.55pm at night.

full24hrs + 5

I turned them off last night at 11:55

lights on needs to be 7pm ideally,  it’s in the attic it’s to hot for day time lights on.

Would you leave them until 7pm tonight so they will of had 18hrs of darkness  And back to their normal time...

OR

turn them on after 12 hours of darkness,  12 in the afternoon today, and then adjust an hour daily until there back at 7pm lights on??

I hope this makes it abit more clear, I’m awful at explaining stuff sorry in advanced!

Turn them off, have a long dark period then straight into 12/12 is my thoughts.

I have a lumi timer, it used to mess whatever it ran up. Complete bollox quality so it's now a door wedge.

Get some 13a digi timers. Ive ran them 600w no issues lots now and they are more accurate.

Another big brand pushing crap

I'm in the loft too, I'm starting too wonder if we are maybe being unkind too lumii and it's actually the near 40° temps in our lofts that are the real problem.. lol

Mine was never too hot in a loft bud, ran poor time wise from day one then became unreliable anyway. Its the timer bud lol

I have one, its 2y or so old.  Takes 4 plugs and is working well.

I feel safer with it, more for peace of mind and less potential for electrical failures n fires I reckon.
