Advice needed please

Hi All,

I have attached some photos and was looking for some advice.  The plants are about 2 weeks old and seem to be struggling. They are pale, clawed and just not particularly happy. Any opinions appreciated.

The setup:

BudBox 0.8x0.8x2

GN Telios 008

AirPots 9L

80/20 Coco/Perlite

BioBizz Nutrients

Tent: 29c/55%

looks to me like a combination of over feeding and too high temps in the tent.

what dose of biobizz are you feeding them? ive not done soil for years, but would reckon on 1ml per litre for this stage.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The feeds have been at 1/2 the recommend dosage.

I think you should switch too nutrients designed for coco, as biobizz is meant for soil and will probably throw issues like this throughout the grow.

Biobizz feeds the soil and will not be as readily available to the roots when compared to a nutrient solution designed for coco.

Also are you using a PH test to make sure you are in the correct range? coco will not buffer the PH on its own like soil will.

Ok after a quick check ive found the biobizz coco feed chart but it states adjusting PH and using an enzyme product (e.g. acti vera) is essential. so those would be my suggestions.

I'm only a noob but from I can tell it looks like you've over fed or fed too early.

The soil looks too wet.

There is a circle crack in the soil in one of your photos. Make sure it's not the soil being separated or it will be filled with air, which will kill your roots when they reach it.

You have a powerful light, what height are you hanging at?

I don't think the Telos 008 is dimmable as far as I remember. Make sure it's not to close.

A little too hot.

Also looks like a lot of perlite. You don't want too much, or it will be a bitch to keep moist.

What size tent are you in?

I've just seen your in Coco. I have no idea the effect that has with the perlite. Never used Coco myself.

Looks like a PH issue to me tbh.

Hi - the nutrients are being used on a Coco feed schedule, as far as I was aware it is suitable for use in Coco? I try to keep the PH between 5.8-6.2.

@QFMAC

It’s an 80/20 Coco/Perlite mix - I always thought it was supposed to have moisture in it and not to let it dry out?  The tent is an 80x80x200 BudBox.  Light isn’t dimmable but has been raised to almost the top of the tent.

Biobizz isn't for coco. You want a coco specific nutrient

I was going to get a Telos. Check the manufacturers recommended hanging height.

As far as I recall for seedlings it's way more than usual and depends on how wide your tent is, as well as tall.

Okay, I have ordered the General Hydroponics Grow/Bloom/Micro, hopefully that sorts them out. Thanks for your help.

I think it’s 100cm for seedlings/young plants, mine has been further than that from the start though.
