Billys new, velvet, purple, lemon, zkittles, cheesy, ice cream, ape adventure

hello again.

im back with a brand new adventure. And it should be a good one...

This time im doing this fine selection of seeds. im waiting patiently for the gelatos to drop, but they shouldn't be long....

I kept back a seed from the new and ogkz from my outdoor adventure specifically for this grow.large_100.JPG

Some of you might have noticed my pathetic attempts at amateur breeding in another thread, and I have got to the stage where I appear to have finally managed after 4 attempts , to reverse some females to sprout nuts, woohoo.

so this collection will be grown out to be pollen recievers, as well as some personal stash for special occasions, like,...…. say Mondays, or Tuesdays, maybe Wednesdays etc, they wont last long …...

they will be receiving pollen from another couple of HSO and dina strains (|Black D.O.G , critical+2,  moby dick and cali hash plant, if it survives, its looking grim, but you never know)

the velvet octane and lemon citron are all new strains from HSO and the descriptions had me drooling so when I got a chance to grow them out, I jumped at it- Thanks Mark for the seeds, its much appreciated, and i'll try and do them justice.

im going to be growing these in hydro, because I suck at mud and coco, but seem to get on better with water.

so, once germed they will go into my mini bubbler, till by dwc buckets arrive . mini bubbler below.large_100.JPG

from here, most of them will be going into some 37 litre bubblers, and will be fed my usual nutes, which are ;

IOnic grow

IOnic bloom

growth tech silicone

Canna cal mag

Growth tech ph down

and that's it, that's all you need imho.

more once the seeds crack. im only doing one seed of each, I need to be careful with plant numbers, so if they don't sprout they aint coming in.

Stay tuned

A fine selection going in this round. I can't wait to see them flourish in your garden.

With that said, the Lemon Citron and Velvet Octane will be the ones I'll be watching the most  :yep:

quick update. First the bad news.just to get it over with......

well the lemon citron didn't crack its shell, so I have just soaked another one. the new did break ground, but it looks very small its in the middle, bottom row of the basin pic. ive also cracked another one of these. The middle one is also looking a bit small, but I cant remember which one this is. oh wait, its an agent orange, sorry HSO, mybad,  that's it, the rest is good news. all the rest have popped and are looking nice and healthy so far.

Ive decided to do these in soil, just for a change. my hydro system is full of dinafem strains anyway....

Soil is jacks magic from westlands. I had perlite in the first little pots, but am not going to use it in the bigger ones.

So I started them in the small pots and potted them up to party cups this week. AFter this they are going into 3 litre pots and that's it, im gonna flower them out and do some breeding with them from my HSO/Dinafem Daddios (Black D.O.G, critical+2, moby dick and cali Hash plant (altho the CHP looks weak so might yet get pulled)

Heres the latest piclarge_109.JPG

the ogkz is in the lead so far, Bototm left, the velvet octane is right middle.

im gonna be flipping the room in , at a guess 3-4 weeks, so the ones ive just popped will have less veg time.

it looks like I might be potting these up next week.

you're not gonna believe this, but the letter box has just clonked the packets of gelatos through the slot.

ive chosen the SAN bAcio gelato and the LA gelato.

never ever done  any gelato strains so this should be a good one

they are soaking already, they barely hit the floor before they got wet. just one of each of these, because,  laughably, im trying to keep the plant numbers down..

Righto I'm grabbing myself a pew before it gets too busy @badbillybob :yep:

Lots going on in here too and a little tip for you mate.  With Jack's Magic I found it was extremely good with around 20% coco in it.   Stops any possible concretion happening and the roots fly through it ;)

well I mixed the coco with the soil, so we will see how it goes, but it feels nice n light.

ever wondered what happens when you forget about the seeds you've been desperate to grow?

I left them in shot glasses and can confirm that they don't die, they just sprout tap roots, seelarge_102.JPG

so I stuck them straight into the soil/coco, and stuck a bag over them, along with some others.large_103.JPG

waiting for some sprout action woohoo

the others in the basin will be getting potted up this week I reckon

think im gonna bin the jacks magic, its not a very good soil imho, by a long chalk.

I added coco to the latest lot, which will undoubtedly help, (thankfully they are just in party cups)  but the original plants I put in it (the psychotropics) are not looking too good, and the soil is honestly solid, its like Portland cement its compacted so much.

so im gonna buy something else, something light and airy. the asda cheapo soil im using outdoors seems pretty good, I will maybe pot them up into that when the time comes, but I think jack has lost his magic for me.

You weren't kidding when you said you would get cracking as soon as they landed  ;)

How are the replacement Lemon Citron and The New doing?

The other babies look solid :)

Stay safe buddy

the replacement new has just cracked the soil surface mate. the lemon, hmmm, not good. the first seed didn't crack, the 2nd did, so I transplanted it into the party cup with the rest of them.

it grew up out of the soil, but decapitated its head/seed shell. most unusual, it was buried as deep as the others so I dunno.

the velvet is doing ok tho, despite the soil compacting like concrete. before i potted the others up I added 8 litres of perlite and the same of coco to the soil, which will hopefully help drainage,

heres a few pics ogkz, gorilla and velvet. the others are either in party cups or potted up into the 3 litre potslarge_010.JPGlarge_009.JPGlarge_008.JPG4

ive still to get dialled back into soil growing, its been a whilelarge_001.JPG#

bit of a mess in there, id just finished potting up...

cheers

the ones in the above pic at the top look grim.

LA gelato came out of the soil, grew a bit then keeled over, ...ive decided that im shyte at mud growing, the velvet looks grim too, but most of the rest look ok.

im hoping the new soil/coco/perlite mix will help.

temps aint helping either, im at 30 in there now, so ive knocked everything back to 400watts. might mean another week of veg, but what can you do...

Shame about the Jack's going like concrete mate, it does hold a lot of water and looks like they've not liked it. :(

With the new mix, hopefully they they'll perk up then and sort themselves out.  Chin up man, early days and I've had plenty looking like this that came round in the end :yep:
