Best led to replace 600w hps up to £150?

Hey, couldn't see a section specifically regarding lighting. I am looking to replace a 600w hps with an led, I can afford up to £150. What is my best option? Thanks.

The lighting forum is here:

:yep:

You won't find an led that will replace a 600w HPS for £150 quid or less I'm sorry mate.

@diyleduk is the forum sponsor and has some amazing LEDs available. Many of which will match a 600w hps but your looking at spending 3-4x that amount at least.

If your prepared to shop around for parts and build a unit yourself you can get the price down considerably but even then your gonna be looking at least double what your looking to spend at the moment.

If I were you I'd keep saving and do some research into what's available.

What kind of space are you looking to light out of interest??

If it's only a 1m2 you don't necessarily need 600w worth of LEDs to get a similar performance to what your used too with hps..

For that space you can get something in the £250-450 range that will perform as well or better than a 315cmh :yep:

you could d.i.y and build up to the 600w (you may decide its not required).

build your frame to accomodate desired strips and then just buy more strips and add to frame when funds permit.

don't fancy diy then you could always upgrade smaller units from the site sponsor, plenty of options with led

Its not going to happen for £150. £400 will get you there. £350 if your handy with electrics.

What id suggest is upgrading your 600w hps to a 400v version or just buy quality bulbs and a good reflector with that 150 if you dont have good ones already.

Heres a barn style digital cheapo jobbie vs a 400v dimlux unit. Massive difference 20% over all IIRC.
