Lower leaves problem

37 posts in this topic

Hello everyone,

I have been having an "issue" lately. Last few weeks some of my lower leaves (mostly the ones that don't get too much light) start to turn brown/yellow and fall on their own. What can this be? ( N or P problem? )

I might be over-watering: 3L of water with organic nutes in 15L pots. I am getting around 30% runoff instead of 20%. Should i water with less water for starters?

Also some red/purple stems are present.

that's the problem mate, it's fine, it happens naturally in a dense canopy, they would be trimmed off anyway in the 2-3 week in flower so i wouldn't sweat it.

Hey Ratdog! Nice to see you again. Thanks for the input. Today is the first day of week 3 flowering. I defoliated heavily last week (week 2) and was planning to defoliate again in week 4. I was not stressed as this effect happened in small leaves in the bottom but now it's starting to move up.

a pic of the whole plant/plants would be helpful in that case

If your getting 30% run off from 3l of feed in 15l pots your overwatering them imo,let em dry out.

Agreed, the state of my organic lower canopy is similar.  I just leave them to die n drop off :)

Hello! I do let them dry out for 3-4 days. I feel the pots and they are usually light compared to watered pots so i know i have to water. Maybe i am watering too much though like you said.

they look pretty healthy but i don't reckon those big tubs have been rooted out properly, they would have benefited with a longer veg time

how long did you veg them mate?

I have used a lotof LST, topped once and have tried to scrog for the first time. They are sturdy IMO but could be better.

What can cause them to not be very sturdy from your personal experience? @ratdog
