Very droopy cuttings rdwc

Hello all I’m after some help I transplanted my cuttings into new rdwc system on Saturday and they were looking very stressed out I did damage a few roots but they had plenty so hoping they would pull through. Anyway they have progressively started to look worse everyday this week extremely droopy curled down leaves the roots are still growing as they’ve found their way out of net pots and about to touch down into the nutrient solution.

AIR TEMPS

DAY 24/25.4

NIGHT 18/19

ROOT TEMPS 19/20

EC 0.6

Humidity is on the low side around

40 lights on

50/60 lights off

I’ve got a little seedling that seems to be doing just fine in my environment.

So do I wait and see if they pick up over the next week or pull them all and plug up another three beans to run.

I’m short on time this run as my tenancy runs out may so they need to be finished and in jars by then. Please any help from experienced dwc growers would be highly appreciated.

heres a few pictures of them beginning of the week

And now they look like this

Haven't got a clue with dwc, but in soil your temps would be too low, ideally never below 20.c.

But not sure in hydro.

Hopefully a more experienced member will help you out.

whats the ph set to?

I would give them a few days to perk up, and try and get your lights off temps up a few degrees

Are the cuttings in rockwool and how high is the water level?

if the roots can get water they should pull thru, but if the rockwool is saturated, it will cause issues.

the stems on the cuttings look really red, were they somewhere cold?

Transplant shock, hungar and low humidity, as said mist them regular or get some clear plastic 8Litre pots from Morrisons very cheap and use as domes.

Cheers for the reply I don’t set the ph as I’m using advance nutrients sensi line which is ph perfect. I’ll give them another week then as the roots have just hit the water so they are doing somthing as roots are growing nicely. I’ll get the night temp up to around 20 see if that helps them. The cuts are in root riot cubes and water line is just below net pots my air pump is quite powerful and the solution is boiling quite abit wetting the clay pebbles but I wouldn’t say they are saturated. They were abit cold in the prop tent but no lower than 18c. Fingers crossed they perk up soon.

yes, they look like they have been cold.

you can up the water  level to  it being level with the bottom of the net pot. this will hopefully get some more roots out from the cutting stem, but it might take more than a week.

the root riot cubes aren't water magnets as much as rockwool, and don't hold on to as much water, so you will be ok to put up the level.

You might be using the ph perfect nutes, but I would still be checking the PH, because from what ive read, they don't always keep the ph -perfect.

you could try humidity domes if you like, but I wouldn't bother with them personally,  but a foliar spray a few times a day with weak nute solution, might help. try it for a few days and see if the leaves respond.

if the roots are in the water and look nice and white,  they should recover.

time will tell

I was thinking it’s down to shock and I guess low humidity could be making it worse I’ll start misting them I got hold of some evolution spray so will Also try that.

Cheers for the information I will up the water level a inch or so tonight the roots are looking nice bright white though so happy with them so far.
I’ll have to get a ph pen I didn’t read the ph once in my last grow and they done well throughout got 11.5 oz from 2 girls which for my first time in dwc I was happy with.

Ill let you know how they are in a few days time.
cheers again

What i do for cuttings after transfer to pots and they get abit down is spray them with water and root boost mix(very very light) for couple days and seem to work a miracle even from very very poorly (full leaves down) stage.

As well for 1st week i keep 24h day. And humidity no less than 60 - 70%.

I never check my ph ( advanced nutes aswell) i swap out the water every week though to avoid any ph issues arising.

Iv swapped my water out once high as a kite with some 10° water lol plants hit the floor in seconds but recovered in time looks similar to yours so id definitely be pointing my finger at the water temps personally. And as badbillybob says I think raising the water level will help.

If it was me I would be trying to get the temps up in the room a little for lights off. I prefer 27/28° in veg lights on but can't give you a reason I just do lol think They do better in higher temps. But if the environment is 19° lights off maybe the water temps dropping too much id get an aquarium heater in there. And id raise the water level into the net pot plants won't drown pump keeps them going :naughty:

Thanks for all the suggestions I gave them a misting the last few days and they perked right up looking much happier now I think the main problem is humidity being low even though the tent is full of water bubbling away and extraction is as low as it can go my humidity just sits at around 40.
Here’s a photo of them today they will be getting a fresh res change this evening and I’ll up the EC to around 0.8

@Knuckles79 yeah the roots are in the water now and they started to perk right up.
these four are under a PAR+550 unit from DIYLEDUK first time ever using LED so should be interesting to see what they can do compared to HPS although I might end up chucking a hps in there aswel in flower if I can keep temps good. I’m running a dairy in LED sub forum. Zcube
