Not having an efficient filter certainly increases the odds of that happening...:wallbash:

Coming on a personal weed growing site and banging on about 'profit' is even dumber...crack on bud just stop giving out crap advice that newbies might just take on board

Take a nap old man.  we were talking about grow houses were we not?

I think its around 1200 degree c to re activate used carbon, so unless you have a forge, forget it.

700-900c  to reactivate carbon.  I had a quick Google the other night after reading this thread and commenting to jimboo.

There's a company that specialises in it even now, filters are graded different, ones used for treating water are graded cat green and the easiest to treat, ones for gases (VOCs) are amber so a little harder. Some aren't readily reactivated after some uses...

I read about someone trying to heat their filter and they said the internal net that holds the carbon was made of plastic and that it started to melt. Finding a filter without plastic would be necessary, or taking out the carbon.

Homemade filter is the way to go though, for sure. Carbon is pretty cheap.

Starting to see sense now are we?...Good...nothing wrong with diy filter bud as long as it works, why not?  :yep:  Easy enough to refill filters but pretty messy...

Nice little business for someone who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty though, I reckon at the right price there'd be a good few takers...

they probably had filters, which then stopped working after a while, and then they realized it wasn't cost efficient to replace them. Does that make them dumb? Not necessarily.

Do you really think that they wouldn't replace a carbon filter as it's not cost efficient? Like 35 quid to save the whole operation becoming compromised lol. I know you was saying you were too skint to buy a filter so used it for the time being but fuck smoking that bud when it's gonna smell and taste like that shit man, I know desperate times call for desperate measures but isn't the taste going to be really bad now plus the smell still won't be gone fully so hope you have sorted out a new filter for now because trust me your neighbors will be smelling it even if it's in the background of the other smell because it's only being masked.

And as far as the grow houses, yeah i think either their filters are used up,  or they need a few more lol They probably don't want to buy more. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I don't think its the case of not wanting to buy another filter, its just its ran out while they haven't been attending alot of times the big grow houses have vietnamese living there and they rarely leave so wouldn't even know the smells escaping? Maybe they only come to check how its going once in a while but wouldn't imagine there just being tight probably haven't noticed the smells coming out also why are you growing it if you don't smoke?
