Feeding Plants

18 posts in this topic

I couldn't find a forum about nutrients/feeding plants so I hope this is in the right place.

If I'm going to mess up anywhere, it's going to be in feeding the plants nutrients. I have never grown before (other than tomatoes outside) so I haven't a clue what to do indoors with weed. It seems complicated. I'll be using soil (not sure which to buy), indoors, and it will be as natural a grow as I can make it.

Where would be the best place to go to learn about the soil, what to feed, and how much?

Alright man. How's things?

It's not that difficult at all and if you've some growing knowledge of plants under your belt already your half way there.

A bag of compost some fishmix, grow, and bloom are all you need. I have biobizz as that's what a few others use on here. I've only done a few small plants in soil as I grow in hydro but if I can do it anyone can.

@Inspiration101 check out some of his diaries. He uses the kiss growing style and grows amazing buddage.

Maybe try to replicate what he does. That's what I'd be doing.

Probably jinx myself to say this but my current grow is the healthiest I have had in quite a while.  Am feeding more than I used to plus have eradicated the spider mite bugs I had the last few grows.

Just coming up to two weeks in 12/12 a dam getting really excited - I think I may well be dialed in on my environment :)

Thanks for chipping in Inspiration. What are you feeding them, have you a grow diary for your current grow?

@SeaJay

The ladies are potted up into a mix of Biobizz All Mix & Plagron Batmix soils - Both are organic and served me well for a couple of years now.

They have been fed the schedule available online for Biobizz products: Root Juice, Bio Grow, Fish Mix, Bio Bloom, Top Max, Alg-A-Mic.

This is the first time I have used so many of the products, previously I only used Bio Grow, Fish Mix, Bio Bloom & Top Max.

I can tell the difference.  The plants are stronger, darker, meaner looking and seriously making me grin at how well they are thriving.

I have stuck to the schedule here and its really serving me well, before was good but now is definitely better!

Just been on the BioBizz website and taken a look at their products. There's a load there! The Nutrient Schedule suggests over half a dozen.

But there's also a starter pack. Will that suffice for a first time grow in soil?

i'm on day 54 since flip and have pretty much got by with just grow and bloom, no doubt i'll chuck some of the fancier nutes into future grows, but until i know how to read the plants better (and earlier) i'm keeping it simple.

I would say get a litre each of grow, fishmix and bloom - you will get good results.

Starter packs are cool and that's where I began also :)

just out of interest mate, with that line up of nutes would you be using lightmix as a soil, and fishmix to start and then switch to grow once you've started flowering?

I found light mix to be more like nonutrientmix.

I have put mine straight into all mix the last few grows - No nute burn or stunting.

I declare light mix to be a useless virtually inert medium lol

I use all mix soil and root juice for the first two weeks and then add grow, then add fishmix.

Come final potting up the bottom wedge of soil is plagron batmix and I fill up the rest with biobizz all mix.

You just have to do it and find your own way really.  Every grow is a personal learning experience :)

Growing is the easy part and as you have grown toms before simply follow the same procedure.tricky bit is getting them dried and cured if you grow outdoors.

Thanks all.

So, assuming 2 plants in two 5ltr air pots, which substrate should I use, All Mix, or Light Mix? It looks like Coco Mix is for Hydroponics but I'm not sure.
