Cant you get him on board ? He knows what the stuff is and he's a young healthy thing I presume I'd be getting him digging and watering until he realises it hard work and not all glamour and gossip . He will either get bored and find other stuff to get exited about or be a little soldier .

My kids all knew the coup.when they were growing up . I reckoned drug were everywhere anyway so better to be honest with them . They knew I was a puffer a grower and liked my rec chems but didn't do brown white and the like and they never got me in trouble and they grew up without getting in any bother with drugs .

If I'd have hidden stuff from them they would have had totally the wrong message....do as I say not as I do ...they hate that and see it for the bogus parent crap it is

Your boy needs to learn a little respect for his fathers choices,I too have a son that will totally disapprove of my growing and Im pretty sure if he becomes aware he will have an awful lot of judgmental comments to fire at me,however I will fast remind him of all he has done wrong in his life and how myself his mother and siblings have stood by him even when he was clearly at fault, its what families do.

If he cant live with my decisions he is free to do what he wants always bearing in mind the repercussions a poorly judged decision could bring about.

Keep on doing what makes YOU happy we aren't here that long in the big scheme of things

Best of luck
