Which plasma/LED if cost was no issue?

17 posts in this topic

Need to light an area 2.8m by 1.6m  which lighting system would you recommend if cost wasn’t an issue? Also wanted to seal the area an use co2 with a dripper system as irrigation. Which is why I’ve leaned towards LEDs and plasmas as they produce little heat.

plasma is too expensive for what it is & you get more bang for your buck with CMH & Hps mixed.

I want to seal the room and not have to worry about cooling the lights if I wanted bang for my buck I would buy cheap budget hps and use sealed reflectors and add co2 like planned.

Know of an LED system that would be very good,9 cobb unit.

Would need 2 of em over that area tho,and have 2 grand spare.

That’s fine mate what’s the light? Was thinking about running an air cooled gavita but I want a true sealed room the light will pay for itself after the first run anyway.

SPYDRx PLUS

SPYDRx PLUS is a full-cycle top-lighting solution for commercial horticulture cultivation, with the power to scale from vegetative growth to bloom. For optimal results, we recommend SPYDRx PLUS deployed in environments with CO2 supplementation between 800-1400 ppm in reproductive growth stage due to high PPFD levels.

I never had my head turned by an LED system until i see this thing mate.

Its crazy shit it really is,really good colour spectrum and mega canopy pentration.

The very latest in LED tech, pulls 440 watts from wall and kicks out the same as a 1000 watt hps.

@HippyI do love a good LED:yep:  I am a bit of a light spectrum fan boy, and canopy penetration is usually an issue, so these do sound like I shouldn't really read any more about them.  I specifically haven't read up on new LED tech cos although mine are ancient now, they seem to work still and I didn't get my value yet (long stories).

May not be comparable, but I had used 4 x 50W in a 75x75x160cm, they picked the heat up by 2 degrees.  Would the heat increase from an LED like that in a 120x120x200cm or so be roughly similar, do you think?

They run very cool mate, you could have 2 of these running in a 1.2 x2.4 tent and only have 4" inch extraction, they also dimmable.
