Ciao Francesca! :D

I wonder myself if they are needed or not...

Soon i'll have 2 new clones to put in my flower box, and then i'll use pk13/14 in one and not the other

But in my mind i'm pretty sure there will be no differences ...

If you use any boost just be careful as they can be quite hard to flush out. I dont bother with pk 13/14 at all anymore i use hesi boost which is nearly half the price of canna

PK 13/14 is not a "Booster", it's an NPK fertilizer suppliment.
You add it to change the NPK ratio your plants are recieving and facilitate the extra P+K your plant is using to produce flowers. I like to trickle feed it 1ml/Gal once buds start forming. At week 4 I start to slowly increase, 0.5ml/L-w4, 1ml/L-w5, 1.5ml/L-w6, 2ml/L-w7.
When I go above 1ml/L of PK I lower the base feed by that amount. E.g. Week 2-5 I use 3ml/L Hesi Coco and 0.3-1ml/L PK. Week 6 - 2.5ml/L Hesi Coco, 1.5ml/L PK, Week 7 - 2ml/L Hesi Coco, 2ml/L PK.

Boosters aid nutrient uptake and sugar transportation within the plant. Really, I would only recommend experimenting with boosters after your environment is dialed and you understand the plant/strain you are growing. Only then can you see if the difference is worth it for you as they can be expensive.
If you must try one, a couple I have had good success with are Bud-XL from House and Garden and Nirvana by Advanced nutrients.
Nirvana contains Alfalfa Meal(triacontanol) among other things and really helps to bush the plant out after stretch. The Bud-XL I like to use for the last couple weeks of feed with some Epsom Salts, it really brings out some beautiful colours and the stink can get unreal.
Boosters I pretty much always use at full strength.

Best of luck :yinyang:

Edit to add: What is the EC of your water? If you have soft water I would get some Cal-Mag if you don't already.

My tap water EC is 0.8 , i didnt see any sign like they need cal mag . I run 1.5 EC in veg and i pland to go up to 1.8 1.9 in flower when i use pk.

what do you think ?

Less is more good base nutrients and a root stimulant is all you need. As coco said environment is more important before you start experimenting. Side by side cuttings are a good idea for when you do want to have a play about though ;)

Most nutrient issues are a case of the water PH is off and your plant is unable to take up the nutrients.

That tap water ec at 0.8 is very high, are you in a very heavy water area?

Boosters are usefull towards the 4th/5th week of flowering the plant is basically throwing everything into its next generation (flowers), i personally only use for a couple of weeks max at 1ml per lt, this in concert with usual nutes raises cf about 0.3 (depending on concentration ) i use vitalink boost.

First hand, and in my opinion, yes it does work (Canna boost).

Worth the money? No..

Cheaper alternatives if you do want to use a boost? Yes

Boosts Necessary for success? Absolutely not.

If you want to use it, go for it. I still use it for early weeks of flower, but i only use it as a foliar spray so the dilution rates are very low. But its really not essential.

You will hear the term "snake oil" thrown up every time anyone mentions a boost, but i  think that a company of cannas stature would 100% make a product that does something beneficial to the plant. I just dont think its beneficial enough to charge what they are charging, which is why i only use as a foliar spray, and also not all the time.

Well yes, if you know your chemistry, you can get the raw materials yourself and mix what you need.

All PK Boosts do is increase the amount of P&K to its maximum to assist with flowering.

When you do the math and follow the recipes for mixes, you can see what the total mix that can be made with the various products and how to manipulte the concentrations to get close to what you need.

Eg. a A + B mix with PK13/14 will result in a feed mix of NPK 5-15-15

I am sure if you were to do the maths on all other products, they will land in the same sort of ball park.
