Wow what an inspirational thread, so many pics of unusual strains doing their thing in nature. Beautiful.

The work you old guys have done to vary the gene pool and keep the old skool strains alive is very commendable especially in this age where the magic has come out of most pot.

I hate that I can't find anything anymore that makes me happy and euphoric and social yet thoughtful and eso/exoteric both at the same time.

What advice would you give for the new generation of consumers, growers and breeders to ensure the variety continues?

thanks guys and @Mimicker I dont know that Im anyone to be taking advice from I certainly cant be put in the same bracket as Old Timer1, it is he who did all the work not me.

But I would say disregard Instagram and 90% of anything with an 'elite clone' tag. Forget cookies, glues and Gelato and all the rest of this crap. Go back to the old skool. Explore breeders like ACE , Bodhi and Cannabiogen. Bodhi produces wonderful things and of course obtain anything you can from OldTimers past work and if you ever find a seed or 2 in them, keep em cos those seeds will often produce gold.

And forget the BS that 35-40% THC is either real or desirable. To this day the single most potents bud I have ever smoked is the 'morphine pheno' of Esb Haze I had in 09 - barely a visible trichome on it, grown outdoor in the uk, picked a bit early by a friend whilst I was away, but 3 puffs and it was the only cannabis i ever thought was literally too strong. Unfortunately I could never replicate that potency indoors and things came close but I never found that potency ever again anywhere.

Its not the amount of trichomes thats matter - its whats inside them that counts, the mystical interplay of various ratios of experience modulating terpenes and cannabinoids.

As for breeeding, Im no breeder and I dont go by punnett squares. I 'breed' and grow with my heart, mind and senses, select for effect and test the progeny.

oh btw @oldtimer1 I spoke with Bodhi and he had this to say regarding the CaliO cross:

i believe cali o x esb was from memy not me, it was called california spice, released around 2005/2006

Cali-O x ESB project
AKA "Memy's Finest California Spice"
Using the California Orange plant known as Cali-O, an old clone only plant as a mother, an original Hybrid was created using ESB as a Mate. The ESB is an African Sativa, Skunk, Blueberry hybrid that smells like "hippy". Memy touched this plant with his magic gene pool and poof. The California Spice is here. The sandlewood scents waft through the air when she is used in her sacramental and medicinal manner. Through selection, and patience, Memy has produced the finest around. Finish in 50-60 days.

I also mentioned your wish for privacy and no questions and he thought it a shame as our elders should be celebrated and cherished, not forgotten, but I definitely wont bother you again about it. He said such a shame a family member couldnt compile your work and history with the plant or you couldnt record on a tape recorder. I said he did that in my coma dreams! lol

Anyway, its enough for me to pass on my respects and regards for what you have done for us all and show you a few pics. I hope I havent posted too many since you last looked and that you havent missed the pics of the lavender.

Have a great weekend  @oldtimer1

Ok @oldskoolskunk the genetics you have come from prior to my making things I thought people would find fairly easy to grow, I think the esb x haze was not what it was called, I met a number of mods and people around uk420 at the hemp expo Wembley I gave those I liked a sample of es bud not esb, at that time I had several mums that I called haze x skunk, it was a name to hang on them not what what would be considered a haze x skunk cross today.  While today no one would consider retaining  a non stable mother line one of my mums was a bit trigger happy and would make a few bananas if everything was not perfect, thing is HD had such a beautiful high it was like taking a lick of acid, so I put up with the odd seed produced  in a grow as it did not bother me the odd bean being produced.

I don’t have a picture of HD anymore on this server but this is HL a sister that has similar form, sorry that it is small but our server was very restricted for upload size back in 02, she was pruned for single cola sog, you may see some of her traits in your stock now.

Out of the buds I gave out, MrBishy found 2 ot 3 viable beans in the buds I gave him, he found a lady that he really liked and a fairy spread her round, this is most likely the lass you had..

In the past I collaborated with a lot of growers all around the world, in the days of snail mail back long before the name original haze or skunk#1 was patented. Haze herb describe what a herb did to your mind, the aim at the time was to reduce flowering times but retaining the soaring high, all sorts of selections were being made the sour acrid types were liked to the after whiff of skunks, my  haze x skunk selections were from that era and not the sort of hazes that were passed via others to Dubi and Charlie! In my humble opinion the early generations of haze herb and skunk crosses were  vastly superior to the later more refined  lines produced for profit and had a much more diverse genetic base. Sadly the pale lavender to almost white types that were in the original haze somehow got lost  before they got to ACE.

My es is the parent of esb and very very potent a real rollercoaster high so you have a very wide genetic base, I gave Dubi some to try at the second Wembley hemp expo, his comment was that it was up there with the strongest 2 or 3 smokes he had ever tried, no one can agree on her smell taste I hear everything from beefy, marmite crisps garlic so diverse as to be nonsense. The trigger happy HD smelle like a really floral furniture polish it used to make my mouth water.

Its a shame you don’t have any descendants of esb in your collection, the blueberry in that cross were from my collaboration with VicHigh to remove the bad inbred genes in blueberry.

I hope you can see why I don’t want to talk it gets so complex and I forget how much I have done in the past.

Anyhow I hope this help with your understanding, I’m very sorry to hear about your burns, that is so sad and thank you for selecting and saving some of the genes I selected to keep.

All the best Ot1.

thank you for taking the time to make this post btw @oldtimer1

if you would ever like any beans I made with my blueberry pheno, I would be happy to pass some to you. The blueberry I used is just the purest blueberry terps i could imagine possible. I wonder if you have ever experienced this, but after a while of smoking the blueberry and strawberry phenos, they actually effected my palate  - for about 6 weeks after i stopped smoking them, every time my tongue touched the roof of my mouth at the back of my teeth there would be an intense sweetness, those terps literally left their mark - for a time i thought it would never go away, but it did.

These plants all had beautiful blueberry and strawberry terps and the very last pic had blueberry and apple. Apparently apple terps can be found in Pakistani plants
