Medical Cannabis Meds

33 posts in this topic

Hi guys,

Just want to know has anyone on the forums tried speaking with docs and specialist regarding being given medical cannabis for any conditions?

It will be interesting to know what the inital responces have been.

Any updates would be great.

I'm hoping to have a sensible conversation with my GP next week, I know she can't prescribe it but I'm working on the premise that if enough breadcrumbs supporting my use of cannabis are spread throughout my med history then even without a prescription any type of prosecution would be pointless.

As it stands in the UK there is no delivery system for flower , no approved farmers, no storage and distribution and no way to fix that in less than a year .

I'll post back her remarks etc when I've had the conversation

It will be very interesting what the response will be from each specialist.

Regardless of the health issue I want to see if they will be supportive or what reasons or excuses they will give to all the patients.

We're in a catch-22. If we say we've tried an illegal form and it worked, they'd probably tell the police.

I've always been honest if a doctor/nurse asked me if I used cannabis and I don't think they're allowed to tell the police.

They are allowed to use their discretion, so I don't trust most of them further than I can throw them.
I can think of lots of far fetched scenarios that might go through their pretty little heads, which I won't repeat here and give them stupid ideas.

Always good to be cautious and honestly it's none of their business so you have no need to tell them but I think the police would be more likely to prosecute a doctor who volunteered unsolicited patient info like that than to come after you for smoking cannabis. It would be much more lucrative for doctors to share info like that with an insurer but they aren't allowed to do that either without your express consent.

this is the stupid whole problem, there are people out there who are probably growing the perfect strain for their illness, or curing their own cancer and they aren't able to tell anyone about their success. Crazy.

Thats exactly what the medical world is scared of.

Imagine a world where normal people like us grew our own meds and found the best strains for certain condtions and shared our experience with one another and healed each other then how would the dirty pill companies make any money?

I long for a time when we can legally help one another with our perfectly home grown strains.

We would all have different strains that would help different conditions and could swap and share our meds with love and compassion.

It's different circumstance and when police are involved after a crash they are going to question the nurses on scene and they probably bottled it rather than lie at the scene of a crime/accident - that's something they don't have to do. Not saying it's right but maybe the nurse didn't have a clue what it was - probably naive enough to think it was a big lump of heroin.

edit: really though, nobody should lie to a doctor/nurse about any substance they have taken.
