Autoflower nutrients in coco/perlite confusion!?

Hi everyone! I'm just about to start my first ever grow, Auto blackberry Kush, as I've heard it's a good beginner strain, I'm certainly a beginner!!

I have a couple of things I am confused about and wondered if any of you guys might be able to help shed any light please:)

(Setup)

I'm using 2 x 11 litre airpots in a 70x70x140 growtent

Marshydro 300 wat led

2 x 6 inch clip fans

A rhino hobby 6 inch extractor fan connected to the carbon filter

2 x 11 litre Airpots

(Nutrients)

Canna Rhizotonic

Canna A+B

Canna Flush

(Grow Medium)

Canna Coco natural/Perlite

I'm confused about how much water and also what ratio of nutrients to add to the water too, I've seen various answers to this question, but I suppose it all relates to grow medium and pot size etc...(i'm using 11 litre airpots)

Also I'm unsure if I should keep the clip fans running all the time (even when the LEDs are turned off - I'm going with 18/6 light schedule)

I'm also assuming I should keep the carbon filter and extractor running constantly throughout the grow?

Sorry if these are dumb questions and I've missed something obvious!

Any advice or help would be very much appreciated :)

Thanks guys!

Hey mate im on my first grow aswell so i know how you feel lol.

Ive been told to keep all my fans running 24/7 and i have near enough the same setup as you just a little bigger.

Ive been reading mixed reports about the whole feeding thing aswell but from what i gather you can just follow the labels on the bottle and alot of people say use halve of that and then bump up as needed. Im using coco and clay pebbles and im feeding with Atami nutrients at around 500ppms which is the recomended mix on my bottles once a day and i water until i get a little run off. My seedlings are 7 days old and look great but i have no idea if im even doing it right lol.

Good Luck on your grow and hopefully someone with actual experience can point you in the right direction

I recently finished my first grow in coco and in hindsight, I definitely fed mine way too much nutes.

I put my seedlings straight into their final pots.

I only water around the seedling for the first 2 weeks.  I use 0.5ml of A + B with the seedling.

Then I start feeding 1.2 litre per day with 1ml of A + B.

I have a 4 week super skunk at the moment which is getting 1.2 litre water with 1ml coco A + B.

Another week i’ll up the dose again by 0.5 and keep an eye out for burn.

On my first grow, I went with 18 hours on & 6 off. This second grow, I’m going with 20 hours on & 4 off.

I always keep my extractor fans & oscillating fans running 24 hours a day to keep humidity and temps in order when the lights are off.

what extractor fan are you using and what are you doing for intake?

Just to mention, I only did one grow but I learnt the hard way so maybe I can help you a bit so you don’t make the same mistakes as myself.

Thanks guys that's really helpful!

I think in regards to the fans then I shall just keep them going at a constant then too:)

It does feel like a guessing game at times so really appreciate the input!

I think then also with the nutrients i'll do the half amount thing to start with and see how they react as the days go by etc...

I only have fairly cheap fans for intake and extraction, swift air I think the make is? both 6 inch

Thanks again guys that's great :)

If you’ve got one of those TT fans you’ll prob have to replace it because they’re shit!

My TT fan was noisy and wasn’t powerful enough. Temps were crazy. Then it started rattling and making a ridiculous amount of noise.

The first lesson I learnt, buy good quality fans. RVK fans are good to go and you can pick used ones up from ebay.

Regarding your intake, you want that running lower than your extraction.

You want your tent walls to be sucked in from the extraction.

@MilkymilkyHi buddy, I would leave the perlite to the mud boys and just use coco on its own.  Your pots are massive for your space I would be thinking of using 5-6 litre pots.

start the plants in small pots or seed trays and pot up in stages when nicely rooted out.

I keep a wet almost dry cycle when the plants are young watering every few days.

When rooted in there final pots the plants are fed daily and in flower multiple times a day.

when using canna coco AandB I don't really go over 2ml/ litre.

Just curious on how you know you def fed too much? Were you getting burnt tips etc? Gives me an idea what to keep an eye on. Thanks

Ahh ok, thankyou for the heads up with the fans! I have noticed these are quite noisy, though as yet I've nothing to compare it too, I'll probably see how this grow goes and invest in a couple of months in some better quality stuff! :)

Yes and the pots are quite large arent they haha! as they're airpots maybe I could just "pull them in" to make them smaller possibly?

Thats really helpful with the nutes btw guys thankyou! gives me an idea of amounts to start with :)

BTW what was your germination methods? Im still unsure of whether to do the paper towel thing...or just go straight into the coco!

Yes. Yellow dots and burnt tips on the leaves.
