All the gear, no idea

Hi all

This is my second ever post. Been on here for 6 months with constant reading and researching. I’ve been buying bits for my first ever grow

So far I’ve got:

1.5 x 1.5 x 1.8 roof qube (attic)

2 x maxibright focus remotes

2 x 315 Agro elite

6” hyperfan stealth (535m3/h)

6” CarboAir 60 filter (1350m3/h)

GHC progrow fan controller

I don’t yet have an intake fan yet (Do I need one).  I was wondering if my 6” fan was big enough for the room or not. I could get and 8” hyperfan stealth and use the 6” for intake but that’s gonna cost me another 3ton.

I just want to create the ideal environment before I start my first adventure of ditching the dealer and planting my disco biscuits

thanks in advance from a complete nube

If its pitch black in the attic then you could use just passive intakes. Best thing to do is set it up and get it running before getting your plants going and see how it goes. Just take into account though that in winter it usually gets really cold in the winter so you'll need good heating to keep temps up at lights out. Summer shouldn't be a problem

Your intake fan doesn't want to be a monster as it doesn't have a carbon filter in front of it.

I use passive intake but if you want to use one I would go for a cheap systemair 4inch mulitflow type (others available).....they are quite, low energy but dont handle pressure very well.

This isn't a problem tho as you intake is 'drawn' upon and doesnt need to push/pull through a filter.

Maintain negative pressure at all costs!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks @Owderb and @zen-ken

i have completely renovated the loft over last two months. It’s got 100mm kingsman insulation and it’s plasterboarded. It’s completely sealed all over. I’ve divided it into two rooms. One for the grow and one for storage. I’ll try and work out how to get pics up soon.

@zen-ken cheers mate. It’s been hard graft 3 hours after work every night. Driving Missus crazy but almost there. Just need to fit the door that separates the two rooms then we’re good to go. Go away next week so my plan was always to get it done before holiday so I can start when I get back. Hopefully in time for xmas

@Owderb @zen-ken as you can see it will be a sealed room once the door goes in. So will a passive intake bring enough fresh air in. I was going to cut a round hole in a side wall with ducking into landing to bring fresh air in. I’m I over thinking all this?
