UV A-B in my grow room.

Hi guys, I'm new to this site but been aware of it for quite a few years, I need some real facts on UV light in indoor gardening.

 

I've been given the opportunity to trial a new 420 watt UV light in my grow room but have major concerns about exposure time and the intensity of  UV A and B on my plants. I've read the basics about increased THC and flavonoids during flower so my real questions are what about cuttings and veg! is there a higher chance of hermaphrodite's from fems. How do the plants in veg protect them selves from the UV.

I cant afford to mess a cycle up.

Is it a plasma light?

 

Not sure we can help unless we know the brand of light you want to use or more info than '420W UV'

Hi, sorry for the delay at my end. From what I know its a electrode-less plasma lamp that will be used as supplementary lighting along side my  2 HPS lights. I've seen pictures of the lamp running and its very blue.

From what I've been lead to believe the light will offer more UV than any other grow light in market.....

The only sensible one as far as I know. Basically UVB only, and no real impact on cannabinoids other than THC. Doubtful that it impacts other terpenes or cannabinoids - or at least very much unsubstantiated.

 

ETA: the power of the lamps used that had a marked impact would also have a significant risk for you, so be careful. UVB of the wavelength cited is not common in most un-enclosed UV lamps either for that reason.
