Im looking into upgrading my extraction fan to EC motors......bloody expensive business tho

it looks like these magnetic driven motors are being brought into play from 2020 and the other motor type old brushed motors will be phased out.

I wasl looking at the systemair revolution vector fans today-look pretty impressive, see they do it with both motor types for now, but im not sureif the new motor needs a separate newer fan controller, or if it works with old type controllers. anyone know?

im out of date with whats the latest and greatest, but will be reading up, cos I might be in the market for something quieter than the rvk.

there are a couple of testvids on yourpube, and the claims versus reality are vastly different, so it could be a lottery. I looked at one, and power consumption is rated at 80 watts, while it draws 135, nearly double.

the loss over a few metres of duct are an eye opener too.

Been doing a fair amount of research on them in the past few weeks.....

They need a 0 - 10v Potentiometer to work instead of the transformer.....but will use less juice when powered down.

Ruck do a sweet EC centrifugal extractor......But I need $200 for it.....Ill pm you the link.....look at the pressure ratings for them....sweet if you have large duct runs like me :yep:

Mixed flow are great but generally cant handle the pressure increases filters and duct bring like the centrifugal can.

The Hyper fan is the blue one it uses an EC Motor as you are looking into them I found this same as the one I have ordered but in a silencer. Sounds like a jet engine :scared:
