buddage

"Cob cured" bud.

Hi all

I have been reading about different curing methods and have come across this process called cob curing, where you literally wrap a decent amount of bud (say an ounce) into a corn cob leaf and bind it tightly.  You then put it through a sweating process followed by a curing process.  It all easily googleable if you're interested (don't want to link other sites).  I personally haven't yet tried it.  It did remind me however of some smoke I had in the early 2000's.

After spending some time in the 'Dam smoking as many strains as I could find (strain variety is a bit limited here in NZ) I travelled to South Africa. When I was in Pretoria I met a German man who was married to a Morrocon girl (crazy huh?).  Anyway he got hold of some weed that had come supposedly come from Botswana and it looked like dog shit.  It absolutely blew my balls up my arse.  Clearest, strongest sativa high and lasted for HOURS! Smelt and tasted fine despite the look.

Anyway a bit of a stoned nonsensical rambling but I'm gonna try growing a Malawi strain and do this method (as described on another site and easily searchable if you're interested) and hopefully recapture that mind melting sativa bliss.

What you are describing sounds like what I have heard of as a African curing method. They use bags and a bit of water.

It sounded weird to me so I never gave it a go.

Yea mate it is a bit strange sounding but I guess it's just one of those things ya gotta try to know for sure.  The stuff I smoked in South Africa was definitely stronger than any seedbank/breeders sativa I've tried/heard of.

When I was in Africa, I'm sure this curing method involved pissing on them too. (May have been goats piss?)

^^^ I'll probably skip that step personally.

spent a month or so in malawi back in the 90's smoked some really rock hard cob cured malawi weed, possibly the gold but thats what everything was called there

, it was difficult to get into the bud itself you needed a pocket knife to start breaking it up, they said the buds of a plant,  seeds branches and all, were wrapped in some type of leaf with sisal string around it, it got buried, dug up and the sisal string drawn tighter buried again and repeated a few times,  this cured but also compacted the bud massively

will have to refer back to my diaries for a reminder of how nice ... or not it was as it is a bit lost in the fogs of time

i'll check but i don't think so,  it wasn't so much of a hobby back then, i must have thrown hundreds of seeds into the trash whilst travelling through africa ,they were nuisance back then,  had some wonderful kenyan stuff we called rocket fuel, i had to winnow out a shed load of seeds from a big bundled plant , if only i'd known
