Why the mix of cannabis and honey is creating a buzz

Hi

Why the mix of cannabis and honey is creating a buzz

This unlikely pair is becoming an emerging popular combo in the CBD industry.

#Honey, one of nature’s finest gifts, has served as both food and medicine for thousands of years. Traditionally, it has been used in the treatment of eye diseases, bronchial asthma, throat infections, tuberculosis, among others. It has also served as a base ingredient for nutritious supplements.

The golden substance produced by bees has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that make it an alternative treatment for clinical conditions in wound healing. Honey has also been associated with cancer treatment and even boosting memory.

It is mainly composed of carbohydrates and is made up of compounds such as proteins, vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acid.

Meanwhile, cannabidiol (#CBD), an extract from the #cannabis sativa plant, is becoming the subject of several studies that show the substance as effective at stopping an overactive immune response caused by influenza or Ebola.

CBD derived from hemp provides a legal alternative to medical marijuana and allows the consumer to enjoy the benefits of CBD without the risk of getting high. It is also an option for those seeking the benefits of cannabis products without violating federal law.

So picture this—mix honey and cannabis and you create a powerhouse.

A powerful combination

Bird and the Bee founder Elizabeth Vernon, also tagged as the “Queen Bee,” shared her tips in the best way to mix the two to create a sweet treat.

“The best way I have found is to make a tincture and to add it to the honey,” said Vernon who has been an apiarist for nearly 10 years and earned a certificate as a massage therapist with a degree in Eastern Medicine. The Bird and the Bee founder also advised adding infused coconut oil with the tincture.

With cannabis lacking the fat shared by other herbs that make them easy to mix with honey, Vernon advised the use of the MagicalButter machine to make the process easier and shorter.

For those who would like to be more creative or would like to add herbs to compliment your honey, Corinne Tobias, an organic farmer in southwestern Colorado advised adding dried lavender, chamomile, sage, rosemary, thyme, vanilla, or cinnamon to your satchel of decarboxylated cannabis.

Honey should never be allowed to boil

Tobias also noted that the satchel of cannabis, if placed in a crockpot, should be cooked slow and low, reminding that honey should never come to a boil.

The heat should be on for four to eight hours. The satchel should then stay in the mixture until cool or overnight then the two can now be infused when making tea.

Luckily, for those who still find the process too labor-intensive, you can always purchase the ready-made tincture offered at Diamond CBD. The CBD Honey sticks come in five pieces per package and cost $14.99 for each pack.

Diamond CBD, a subsidiary of PotNetwork Holding, Inc. (OTCMKTS:POTN), which is one of the leaders in the cannabis business revolution, also offers CBD oils, vaping pens, edibles, gummies, chocolates, drinks, among others.
