Moving so will not be able to grow this year, might have a look for some sort of "Gorilla" location, but dont think i can be arsed. Will be renting so would not risk indoors :(. Fingers crossed, maybe i might be able to find somewhere again many years from now, or maybe the Government will legalize growing it :unsure:lol  :wallbash:

That sucks... Sorry to hear that ..enjoyed your garden grows... do think it's too risky growing whilst renting? I am going through the motions now of getting a rental place..was thinking of setting up a tent.... Do they do inspections?

Why not just put together a nice stealthy grow drobe dude? I have grown in every place I have rented, either in a drobe cupboard or loft.

@MacGanja Most landlord or letting agents will do an inspection at least once a year. Letting agents are normally just a very quick look round, landlords will likely be more thorough, nosey cunts.

They arent allowed to open cupboards and wardrobes etc or ask you to unlock them. Also best to be present while they do it as they wont want to appear nosey and overstep their bounderies in front of you.

When I rented privately, they come and checked the house every six months, if that helps any!

i am growing now in my rented house.  in the spare bedroom.  i get checked every 6 months.  when we agree a time for them to visit i try to make it early afternoon.  then in the morning (before lights on) i put a black bin liner over each plant and put them in the garage.  then i break the whole tent down and put that in the garage too.  they dont check the garage.  once they are gone (normally they are only here for 5 mins) i rebuild the tent etc and replace the plant and cross my fingers.  i havent had any problems so far.

Regarding inspections for private renting an estate agent will definitely do 3 or 6 monthly inspections whereas a private landlord may do none or more than the estate agent, and they COULD turn up out of the blue too. An estate agent will most likely give you a few weeks notice of an inspection, and even then you could delay it for a few more if need be.

In my mind private landlords are a gamble (mine did an inspection after a year and the second year and then haven't bothered to come back in the last 4 years) compared to the estate agent's formal approach which should allow you to have a better idea of what to expect and when.

The place i am going to look at, is like a studio flat type thing, where someone has converted above their garages, and its all plumbed into their house, they would deffo notice a strange spike on and off the electric :(:P

I rent privately and apart from signing the contract with the landlady 6 years ago lol I haven’t seen her. lol She text me 2 years ago to ask if I would pay £49a month extra ...... yeah no probs, oh and I txt her this year to say can we replace the kitchen andd her answer was yeah do what you like lol

She does have a contract with British Gas for a safety check every 12 months and if anything goes wrong she has a handyman come over within 1/2 hr usually. I am aware this is in no way the norm and have heard some absolute horror stories. I wouldn’t use an agent ever as they are complete twats and are notorious for just “popping round” . If we move again I would either rent private direct or buy a place.

Peace !

I rent my old house out privately aswel, same situation I not been round there in 5 years apart from to do some tiling. I think most private landlords won’t check regularly if you seem decient people.

Could you not maybe look for somewhere more suitable to live?  My house is tiny and I'd love to move, but I only see my landlord once a year for a gas safety inspection.  I have one room locked in my house as I let it out to a friend, I get no questions on what's in their as I'm not about during the inspection - works out nicely.  I'd be quite picky when choosing a next place of abode, to make sure it fulfils my requirements.

This is probably not relevant given that you have a place in mind...

I used to rent from the same estate agents for a looooong time - eventually they realised they were wasting their time coming around to inspect and that they were pissing me off too, so they stopped when they knew they could trust me!

If you know an estate agent/factoring service that specialises in student accommodation, they often don't bother looking in on more mature folks...

Bummer, not even a little 250w hps like? :naughty: Hell even a 150 can pull you a few ounces with some good lst. Would be easy to conceal in a little drobe or cupboard.

I recon 250w and a bit for extraction could just be explained by a computer turning itself on and cloud syncing or something similar.
