Nitric acid is about 40-0-0 and Phosphoric 0-70-0 or thereabouts in food terms. If you added a fair bit the CF would be high. About 10% of my CF reading comes from the acid typically. So it's easily done.

The meter calibration wants doing again. It seems something got cocked up. I can't see quite what. At work you say? If they're not your fluids perhaps they are the problem. I have seen meters well out of wack from calibration errors where they needed giving 7 at all points, just to set their heads straight. Refusing to believe anything else could be true. Only then could a proper calibrating be made.

It really is an exact science, Using fluids and discarding them. If someone tries to put it back, and it goes in the wrong one, you get in a right mess. Do you have a cheap fish tank dropper kit or test strips as backup to check things are at least close? My dropper kit with colour chart must be 20 years old, and when I need it, I need it!

Remember to store it in a storage solution so the glass doesn't dry, I've broke one by forggeing it letting it dry. The blue lab should have a tick on the screen when is calibrated properly

I'm not sure it's a while ago now. I'd buy some new ph4 and 7 calibration fluid and try that.
