Ring walk at 3.50am at the earliest but if it clashes with Jon Jones then I'll not be watching it.

Great fight about to start.

Hope it's a good fight 2night after the big let down with the last PAC man fight I no some people on hear said about how good it was papaduc and we all can tell u know a bit about boxing with your don't anyone watch world class boxing but some of us like to see a blood and guts tear up with could be on a small show or an under card fight it's not about the fenceing boring trying to hit with out getting hit cowards way of fighting for me but hay iam not trying to sound like I no the most about boxing like some on hear

The marquez Pacman fight was a fascinating fight. If you didn't appreciate it it's your loss.

I love a good tear up, but I love a good fight whatever way it comes, and Pacquiao Marquez, considering what was at stake, was a very gripping fight. You're n the minority if you thought it was a let down. Maybe if you understand boxing a bit more and you'll get more out of the fights that aren't just slug fests.

Looking forward to Khan's fight tonight. Jones was sloppy against Ramnpage and it was a mismatch. I hope the Machida one is better.

What I understand is jmm beat PAC mans speed with timing which stoped PAC man from looking to throw anything more than pot shots which made it a shit fight so after a couple rds u new what was goner happen 4 the rest of the fight but if u new a bit more about boxing u would have known that

Real good close fight that was, Chuffed for Lamont. :guitar:

Khan really has to work on his inside game though. Lets see a rematch!

I agree with you Uzi... Pac man v Marquez 3 was far from fascinating in my opinion. cotto v margarito(both fights) Khan v peterson is what i like to see in the ring. I can understand the technical side of boxing and mayweather is the best technically sound boxer that we may ever see, but I wouldnt like to see two mayweathers fight each other would be snooze time. I can appreciate the skill of world class chess players but again I would not want to watch them play :russian:

Yeah... and a game between Orient and Yeovil is better than one between Barca and Madrid because there were more goals....

If you didn't appreciate the fight, that's fair enough. Doesn't make it shit. What it does mean is you didn't appreciate it.

Was a good fight.

But.... Amir Khan should be beating Lamont peterson all day long. And this is now a big big problem for me.

I've never advocated that a fighter should leave his trainer, in fact it makes me a bit sick when I see trainers being sacked because a fighter loses a fight. But in this case I'm now wondering, having watched one of the most skilled fighters in boxing - Jorge Linares, another fighter trained by Freddie Roach - having exactly the same problems in his fight with a much lesser skilled opponent, and having seen Pacquiao completely unable to adapt during his fight with Marquez, as well as Roach to provide a strategy change, I'm thinking more and more that Roach and Khan should part ways.

Khan has all the natural attacking ability in the world. He's got blistering fast hands and superb combination punching. He doesn't need the combo specialist Roach to put that in place for him. The one thing he lacks is ring nous, ring IQ. I've always said this and it's what let him down massively in this fight.

His tactics in this fight shocked me because it's the first time since Maidana that we've seen him caught and put under pressure and it's the first time we got solid answers about how far he'scome as aresult of that fight. If this was his exam, he flunked it so badly I wouldn't even think about putting him in t do his masters against someone like Bradley. On this evidence Bradley would put him away.

And this is the thing - he's got all the tools to be the best in the division. But tactically he's a complete mess. That's no exaggeration, he was a mess in that fight in certain situations. Like holding a high guard and just burying his head behind his gloves, not even looking at his opponent, and getting rocked with uppercuts every time he did it. But not only getting tagged, but standing there getting tagged again. If Peterson was less of a nice guy and more of a predator I think he'd have realised this quick fast and I actually think he could have put Khan away inside the distance If he'd applied more pressure.

It basically seems like Freddie Roach fighters operate like this: Throw lots of combos to keep the opponent at bay, then either fall into him and hold to stop him working, or run. There's no holding the center of the ring, no inside boxing, no tactical variety whatsoever.

I said recently that if Khan can improve the cerebral aspect of his game; basically learn more of the all round tricks and skills he needs, that he can be a great great fighter. Well I'm now pretty much convinced that while he stays with Roach he won't do that.

@ papaduc that hole u keep digging feel it with soil and put a nice haze plant in it top fighters sometimes have shit fights same with the best football teams . Khan been found out He fought like a novice after the 3rd rd moveing back in straight lines not looking were he's shots were going burying he's head in his hands standing still and taking shot after shot are all mistakes I see when people step in the ring for the 1st time and this is from someone who's been fighting sence he was a kid soon has hes put under he looks like novice were he goes from hear I don't no

Khan needed a reality check and to try to lay the blame at Freddys door is comical.

I take it neither of you have seen any of Roaches other fighters then?

There's always been a debate surrounding Roaches tactics and to be honest I've never been too critical. But in Linares' fight the exact same thing happened.

Maybe Khan did need a reality check, maybe this is it. But the reality he is faced with is he needs to add to his arsenal a better all round game and a shitload of defensive intelligence. Some slickness and control.

The fact is these things are not Roaches forte and for this reason he needs to work with someone else.

I've never said this before, but after watching Linares, then Pacquiao, now this, there are huge questions over whether a fighter like Khan can add the required tools to his arsenal while working under Roach.
