The Insider IMDb

Genre : Semi-thriller conspiracy drama (I'm so crap at describing genres)

Score 8.5 / 10

I had this recorded on my PVR and finally got around to watching it the other night.

Al Pacino, who is probably my favourite actor and a blonde haired, troubled Russell Crowe in a film based on a true story about the exposing of a collective cover-up by the tobacco industry on the addictive properties of Nicotine.

Crowe is the 'Insider', an industry chemist working for one of the main companies, who wants to go public about what he knows despite being sworn to secrecy with a confidentiality agreement.

Pacino is the producer on US CBS News show "60 minutes" who wants to get the interview that will grip the country.

It is a tense and gripping film from Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral, Last of the Mohicans) but not too full of jargon and is easy to follow.

I would thoroughly recommend it.

I've still not seen Bruno and I love Sacha Baron Cohen.

Is it as good as Borat?

Scott Pilgrim vs the world - 8/10 lol

really got me laughing out loud. If you are a gamer there are loads of funny references to street fighter and mario among others, and the computer game fx were great.

I don't think I've seen a film like it, and can forgive the rom-com storyline as it meant that she enjoyed it too.

If you liked "Kick Ass" you'll love this. lol

Last night we watch a film called "A Prophet"

It's a French film about a young muslim guy in a prison and how he gets tied up in the protection of the mafia.

Brilliant film! I give it 10 / 10

I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 last week and it was amazing. Very funny in parts and enthralling throughout. Can't wait for part 2. That's the only downside, having to wait till July next year to see the conclusion. I, and i'm sure any HP fan, would happily have sat through part 1 and 2 together, even if it did span 5 hours. Would it have been so impossible to put them both together, perhaps with a short interval in between? Of course, that would only make them half as much money! :)

Anyway, i'd rate it 9/10.

Downfall; the story of Adolf Hitlers last few days his Berlin bunker at the end of WW2. Personally I found it very good 8.5/10. It is in German and subtitled so that may put some people off, but well worth the effort IMHO.
