Arsenal have had a really strange transfer window

Starting with the inevitable departure of Sanchez, I actually think Arsenal did brilliantly - to get a player that I think really suits Arsenal's style of play (Mkhitaryan is a much better player than he showed at Man U, and I think he's far more an Arsenal kind of player) is a lot better than they could have ended up with. Really good business. But then the Aubameyang thing - he's a good player, but he's the same type of player to Lacazette, and selling Giroud (a totally different type of player, one who gives you options that are totally different to what Aubameyang and Lacazette can give) to Chelsea - who have spent the whole transfer window looking for exactly that type of player. That's bad business IMHO.

Just found the thread after years of being here.  Looking at a lot more interest in Arsenal over the coming months, as we have a very good base for the new manager to build from.  I love the new recruits we already have and if only we could take defensive coaching seriously we might have done OK.

I'm not really sure about the new manager, but I do like the idea of Vierra, as I think he would bring great leadership and passion, and is building for long term. If they're looking at a bold move, it might be someone like Giovanni van Bronkhorst, but I would prefer Vierra.

Gutted to see Arsene leave i remember when he came like it was yesterday...but all good things come to an end.

Classy of Manchester United fergie/jose...just goes to show what he did to the game.

I want someone whos been in the game, id take Ancelotti/Allegri/Enrique over Viera etc at the moment, The managers i just mentioned would attract players too as there is going to be a huge shuffle now and you will see a massive change.

Sad to see him gone. I'd love it if he ended up somewhere else in England, I cant see it though. Good on him, he's been a welcome addition to the Premiership, it was such a shame they couldn't overcome Atletico.

I would love to see Diego Simeone take over, I know it's highly unlikely but if he could get us to defend the way Atletico do we are pretty much a contender again with the attack we have.

We miss that one consistently good midfielder, and a top class centre back and possibly keeper as I think Cech is a liability sometimes. But the pace we have up front and chemistry between the old Dortmund boys is always going to score goals who ever we play.

I'd go all out, MEGA deal long term try bring him in.
