He has stage 4, I have stage 2. Looking for advice please. x

Hya folks,

Very happy to have been directed to this site by my hubby. What an amazing amount of good stuff happening here, Danzig, and the folks helping you achive these remissions; you rock.

2013 has been a total challenge for us. Hubby was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in January and told it was incurable, he was given a targeted therapy, a pill a day, which has held his tumours steady, but wont reduce them and wont work for long. He has already beaten the odds as he was told to expect months at best.

I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in October and since then have had my tumours removed. (I have been advised to take chemo for 6 months, Radiotherapy for 5 weeks and Tamoxifen for up to 10 years - I am not going for these options)

Where do we go from here... well, we have already changed our diets massively by juicing, alkalising and oxegenating our bodies at every turn. We have researched thoughout the year and have realised that a life time love of weed has a deeper, much deeper healing aspect, in RSO.

We managed to get hold of enough bud to make 10 grams of oil and have been both taking a maintanance dose, this is about to run out.

We have made plans with gardening pals to grow more and we ourselves are doing the same. This will take several months to come to fruition. The difficulty is always going to be getting enough of what we need. No one we know can manage the quantities and we can only grow so much oursleves.

One of my questions for the community here is:

Is it better to hold out for weed we know is CBD heavy and grown with more love than chemicals, or should we just bite the bullet and buy the 32 oz we need for the first 2 treatments, never mind it's journey to our door?

I am feeling quite panicked about how to proceed short term. I'm supposed to begin Radiotherapy in February. (I have ditched the chemo and Tamoxifen, and hope to avoid the radiotherpay too). Scared about waiting several months to begin treatments as hubbys medicine could fail any time, and I want and need to be fit and well to help him.

Any advice very welcome. We are in the Scottish central belt and are fully committed to saving our own lives, rather than being in the hands of the Oncologists. We are both in our 40's and are musicians.

All the best.

Hi Howtosaveyourownlife

Sorry to hear about your situation - are you planning to try a grow or weighing up your options? There are some Autoflowering CBD rich strains beginning to be released - this is the only one I know of right now but they're feminised and have a flowering time of 60 - 65 days (according to the blurb): MED GOM 1.0 by Grass-O-Matic ... maybe that would be worth trying?

All the best

Good luck with the fight, there are some amazing treatments that have high success rates.

Juicing is great, go as heavy as you can on the greens, if you can manage it only live on juices. Also watch sugar it feed cancers, even eating too much fruit isn't good. No processed grub if you are eating but I'd be drinking as much green juice as you can.

Exercise and sweating toxins out can only be a good thing.

Definitely start sourcing your own weed and making oil but there has to be some CDB heavy strains that can be grown and harvested in 2-3 months, I'm sure other members will let you know what strains are best.

Stay positive.

imo your best to get wotever half decent bud you can get asap an get on the oil asap. you can then grow your own cbd and thc rich strains for your own medicine in the mean time. whilst that is growing however i would get woteva bud you can from where ever as long as its decent an you can see trichomes on it then it should be good to go. your making oil from it anyway so its not overly important how it was grown. it is still important to some extent obviously but as long as its good quality it should be fine.

ideally you want cbd and thc rich strains when growing for cancer, thats my understanding of it anyway. rick simpson will suggest just high thc but science has shown that when combined thc and cbd have a synergistic effect with each other an boost each others anti tumour effects with most cancers. from wot ive read an seen breast an lung cancer are the 2 types that respond best to cannabinoid treatment along with skin cancer. that doesnt mean it will 100% work it seems its different for everybody.

imo the best seeds to buy are that of cbd crew seeds their strains are about 1:1 ratio of thc/cbd an also have other cannabinoids in aswell. 99% of other breeders seeds will contain less than 1% cbd the other 1% of the 99 contains 1-2%. cbd crew seeds are generally the only breeder at the moment i know of that specialise in cbd rich strains that also contain a decent amount of thc.

maybe a vapouriser for the lung cancer may also help to get cannabinoids directly to the lungs, oil should still be taken aswell but as long as the vaping temperature is kept low It may help.

goodluck with your treatment and the future. i really do hope you are successful an wish you both all the best.

@@Grimweeder +1 for CBD Crew - Shantibaba and Resin seeds are definitely the most reliable right now. I mentioned the Grass O Matic Auto because it's the fastest I know of and was a collaborative project with CBD Crew - Shanti mentions it here:

Whether a high CBD or combination THC/CBD is right for your conditions is something I can't claim to know.

Bud Buddies are currently doing a test grow on these and when we've made an oil and had it tested we'll know if the 'blurb' is accurate (and as CBD Crew are involved I'm sure they'll be as the 'blurb' says)

Howtosaveyourownlife? Can you source 32oz of bud? and if you can what costs will you be looking at? This site is about self-sufficiency and if you follow this site's advice you can grow indoors and as Grimweeder says you can grow enough for 60 grams of oil in under 4 months in a 4ft square space

Also, "caveat emptor"

@@Howtosaveyourownlife so sorry to hear of yours and your husbands situation. The best advice I could give you in the short term is to get yourself and your husband a decent vapouriser (I could personally only really recommend the Volcano) and this will target the cannabinoids directly onto your husbands lungs. Obviously it wont be as effective as a course of oil but can only help until you get your first harvest, if you germinate your seeds now you will have enough medicine for the both of you by the end of March. If you have the funds available I would source as much high quality cannabis as you can to last you until your first harvest as it can take a while to get upto the 1g a day recommended dose. Please send me a PM if you need any seeds to get started.

@@DANZIG please correct me if im wrong but I was under the impression that the only real selling point of CBD rich varieties is that high THC Oil can be somewhat discombobulating for the patient? Which makes perfect sense to me when dealing with ailments such as arthirities etc where the patient still needs to function and have minimal impact on their day to day lives but surely when dealing with aggressive tumours you should be focusing all energies on producing high THC medicine? Im basing this on the fact that THC fits into both CB1 and CB2 receptors which to my mind can only result in a far more superior/complete medicine? What's your take on it? From your experience would you personally advise people to use high CBD/low THC varieties for fighting terminal cancer? Thanks.

Wow, what a great response!

Thanks so much for taking time for us.

Thanks for the tips on nutrition @, we're are on it and really have noticed the difference in general health. Juicing is amazing.

@@Grimweeder, not looked at vapourising yet, (so much to do, so little time), but will do and thanks for the reminder.

Thanks also for the vids folks, which I will check out tomoz.

In answer to @@DANZIG query about the amounts we can source, and the cost. We can find low quality thai and skunk fairly easily, but the price is high: £250 per ounce is the norm round these parts. To treat us both immediatley we are looking at about £6,000

Another difficulty is the very low energy levels we are experiencing, this seems to now be the norm. It is something we have to work with and around, but it adds to the overall overwhelmedness and difficulty in making plans, or making them happen.

However, we are planning ahead and will be much more self suifficient in about 3/4 months, at least for one of us, but as I said earlier, this is dependant on our own skills and those of our pals all coming to fruition. Green fingers crossed! This is something that we will get better at over time and we will keep going with, to help ourselves maintain health, and to send to others who are going along this journey too.

I have another question:

The first: is anybody, who is taking oil, experiencing very low blood pressure? I have naturally low blood pressure, sitting normally around 100 over 60 but the oil, even in tiny doses is making me very light headed and faint. Blood pressure dropping to 90 over 50 (and I am a lifetime toker, so well aclimatised) Any thoughts? There is no treatment for low blood pressure, it's a good thing normally. Cant imagine what the treatment dose would do regarding blood pressure, maybe it can only go so low....

Cant tell you how great is is to be able to ask these questions out loud to strangers, with a common goal, and I am so pleased to know there are alternatives to Big Pharma.

Thanks. xx

I really hope it all works out for you both

I've edited your post but left in the dealer stuff, we don't discuss prices of dealer weed on here, as the site is all about personal but given the circumstances and Danzig's question maybe it should be left to stand... personally I'd say that if you are talking about weak, stick ridden "thai" that isn't what you want or anywhere near the price you should pay
