deadwood

96 posts in this topic

I know its a bit late in the day to be talking about it but on a whim I decided to watch deadwood over the last few weeks. Bloody hell what a fucking amazing show, If you're looking for a good show to get stuck into I've got to recommend it, in fact I'm jealous that you've not seen it. Ian mcshane- who i previously thought was a bit of a chopper for no real reason is fucking amazing and the writing is brilliant and becomes even better as the series goes on. Shakespeare, but with cowboys.

I'm a bit gutted I dont have a telly cos I'm itching to get my xbox plugged in and have a bash on red dead.

That cunt was an nasty fucker and had to die, but yeah, too expensive, McShane should of got an award for that if he didn`t already. When his no1 has that fight with the nasty cunt henchmen i was livid by then lol I`m not normally into westerns but the slow building of the west was well represented and a little like a history prog at times :nerd hadn`t seen owt like that before, no racism just business

It is great - watched the whole thing on dvd back to back a few years ago - highly recommend it.

Shame its all over and hard to believe Ian McShane went from Lovejoy to Swearengen.

Indeed it was a great show and a shame they axed it. It also opened my eyes to McShane's acting ability - he plays a blinder :D Cocksucker !!!

lol i've seen that before and it's always funny :D

Should check out "Justified", Bullock from Deadwood plays a law enforcer again in a hill-billy, modern times small town type thing.

A little known fact about Deadwood is that David Milch, who devised the series, was the script editor for that dreadful pap, Prisoner Cell Block H.

I was living with a linguist att and she was astonished at the accuracy (as far as we know) of the period language/dialogue.

I believe it won awards for it's script.
