What a cool and useful thread, like a crash-course in "How to become a Rogue Guerrilla Ranger" or "How I joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, department of biological warfare, stealth unit, codename: OVERGROW" ..... grin

gee, compass navigation hasn't been this inspiring since Boy Scouts!

I will say that Google Earth is quite a nice free tool to have.

I am an outdoors person and like using it to plan trips to

places of interest and look at fishing lakes from the air.

It's also cool in that it has a ruler that allows

you to mesure from one point to another. Giving you

a very good idea how long or far your trip is going

to be.

The other very cool thing is that is allows you to

use GPS coordinates to locate points of interest.

You may have already noticed that when you move

your mouse cursor over the globe the numbers

at the bottom right change. Those are GPS

coordinates.

It has lots of other nice features like elevation, etc.

I do like the fact that in seconds I can be across the

world looking at some remote mountain top in third world

countries where ganja is native. Like the himalayas

for example.

Do enjoy.
