  1. I have been using heat mats without a thermostat, ok so far but I am worried about cooking my roots, like @ratdog did recently. So I have got a thermostat for my next grow. So where should I stick the probe? Should I bury it when I fill the pots? Any other smart arse suggestions? Thanks
  2. Been thinking about a thermostat to control a tube heater but want one that can control two different temperature targets based on lights on and off. I would rather avoid have to buy two tube heaters and two thermostats and having to run both off two smart plugs. Anyone know of a thermostat that has this feature?
  3. Morning all, can anybody point me in the right direction for my DIY project. I’m looking to automate my air management. I have: warm air intake cold air intake extraction I could use an inkbird to operate both of the intakes but I would like this all set up with a fan controller as my fans are oversized and I would much prefer them dimmed the majority of the time. cheers in advance guys.
  4. After last night's cold spell I decided to set up my root-it thermostat. Just a quick question, is it safe to plug the thermostat into a extension lead or does it need to go directly into main? Sorry if this question is stupid I'm just super paranoid of fires and wanted to put my mind at rest .
  5. root it

Hi everyone, Just bought a soil thermometer and saw that my soil's temp is a little low (17-18°C at the end of my 4h dark cycle). So I may invest sooner than foreseen in these heat mats but got a couple of questions before pulling the trigger. - where do you put them ? Inside the tent with the pots on them ? Or under the tent ?? - how many should I buy for a 1x1m tent ? Do you need to cover all the ground ? - I'm planning to buy the Root It thermostat, but didn't find if you can plug several mats with one or if you need one thermostat per mat (in which case it really becomes pricey...). - If the soil's temp is up to 20°C with the mats, can I let the air temp go down a little to decrease my oil rad consumption ? Waiting for your answers !!
