How's everybody doing on my favourite forum on the Internet ?! I just can't stay away! After I harvested my last run at the end of June (Check it out), I said I'd put everything into storage and enjoy my work. Lo and behold, much to the disappointment of the missus. I'm back for more, setting up the groom as we speak.. Now, I'm sure this diary will likely receive less attention than the last, so it will probably be a little less hands on, weekly posts, maybe. The Fast and The Sweet Seeds Sweet Seeds - Black Devil (Should I tag an SS rep ?) Fastbuds - Gelato Zkittles Purple Lemonade They're all autos as I can't guarantee a stable, dark environment yet but I got some great photo freebies from Attitude as well.. The time shall come, my pretties.. I'm 'upgrading' extraction by cutting a circle in some plasterboard and taping the ducting 'through', the board has some old lace curtain over the window-side and the board shall be fastened to the window void. Very much a bodge job, but more stealthy than last time and hopefully will stop the weather outside from affecting the enviro too much. (Will post pics if people want them). For now, I'll be washing out pots, sandwiching seeds between damp kitchen roll and taping up pinholes in the tent. Stay tuned for more updates later on in the week! (If I get my head down). PEACE AND LOVE Flav
Hi everyone im about to upgrade the lighting I have, the single 50w blurple cob I have ain’t ever going to do the job. I have about £150 and the options seem to be mars hydro ts1000 - 150w - Epistar mars hydro sp150 - 135w - Epistar LEDs but has UV and mars reckon a 0.3g/w higher yield Invisible sun ish100 - 110w - lm301h LEDs maxsisun pb1500 - 100w - lm301b LEDs Viparspectra pb1000 - 100w - can’t find led manf carambola 2 x 1000w (size is same as two of the above) 110w per board - sanan 1231 LEDs . totally unsure, the mars are tried and tested and another grow diary site had a few sp150 grow diaries and they all look solid. invisible sun looks nice and has the upgraded Samsung LEDs. viparspectar - well the non quantum board version seems to have out performed the older mars models. Maybe the new one does too. maxsisun is a bit older but looks ok. carambola of eBay - 2 of pretty much the same as the above, the led manufacturers come tenth in the list of best led manufacturers (oddly, Samsung wasn’t on it). But it’s 2 for £150 so is it shit. im leaning towards the Mars sp150. My space is 1.3 ft x 2 ft and the coverage on that is 1.5 x 3. So it’ll fit perfect but then I did read a diary on here raving about the invisible sun model. If anyone who has experience on this and could be kind enough to give me an answer, what would you spend your money on? (by the way, I have horrific dyslexia. A push/pull door can stop me dead in my tracks for at least ten minutes. If you have to twist a lock then push or pull. I’m never getting through it. So if I‘ve messed up and put incorrect info next to the wrong light I’m sorry. Or if I’ve put the wrong word I’ll blame it on auto correct but I would appreciate your input so thanks in advance) the plants are looking stretched. I’ll update the diary today but as you’ll see the new lights are going to be Getting a bit Urgent now. Also swift air or rhino for filter kit, any opinions on that too would help.
Hi everyone, I've been a bit of a lurker for a while and thought it best I leave a diary, or at least outline how my first attempt is going! You'll have to excuse me as I've been a bit lacklustre in terms of keeping everything up to date and I still haven't figured out how to upload pics But I'm now on day 18 since germ so here's my private notes so far: CITY SEEDS KOSHER KUSH GROW Equipment: Tent 60x60x140cm Mars Hydro TS1000 LED 4" rhino/ram filter+fan combo 12"oscillating fan 1' tube heater for lights off Plant level: 9 litre fabric pots Biobizz light mix+all mix Biobizz rootjuice/grow/bloom/topmax Days 1-10 I followed @Serpent how to grow autos in soil guide and it helped massively so shoutout to you buddy Day 1: 23/03 Germinated: Damp paper towel in ziplock (closed) in airing cupboard Day 3: 25/03 TAPROOT 3-5mm Into solo cups (Biobizz light mix - pre wetted) covered with cup, sprayed with water to increase humidity until soil break In airing cupboard Day 4: 26/03 (around 21hrs later) SOIL BREAK Temps 24-29 humid 35-55 Into tent, kept moist, under 24hr lighting. Still covered with sprayed cups, Day 5 Still moist Temp: 27 Humid: 40% Using wet shirt to increase humidity Not much progress - hoping ^RH% will help Day 6 Temp 27-29 Humid around 65% Given very light watering with spray bottle but leaves starting to fade? Day 7 Leaves more faded Day 8: 30/3 Temps 27-29 Humid low 40 high 77 steady average 68-70 Finally got fan+filter setup. Cups moist, soil lightly watered Day 9: 31/03 Temps 27-29 humid 50-60% Final pots in tent to acclimatise soil 2L water+0.5ml rootjuice for pre-wetting final pots Day 10: 01/04 Temps 27-30 humid 60-70% FINAL POT TRANSFER Leaves were starting to droop slightly - due to rootjuice overfeed ? Given 1L water (very small amount of runoff to flush rootjuice) Day 11: 02/04 Temps 27-30 humid low 55 High 70 Recovering from transfer really well, good new growth - 3rd set of cotyledon leaves showing Day 12: 03/04 Temps 27-30 humid 55-65 Added oscillating fan Day 13: 04/04 Temps 27-30 Humid 47-55 Big growth on 2nd set of leaves Day 14: 05/04 Temps 28.5-31 humid 55-60 WATERING 1L per plant No nutes Day 15: 06/04 Temps 27-30 Humid 47-50 FIRST ATTEMPT AT LST I've no idea what I'm doing - tied main stem down and started tucking leaves maybe too soon ? Day 16: 07/04 Temps up at 29/30 Humid up 60+ Day 17: Temps 29-30 Humid 50-55 1 or 2 big leaves leaves starting to curl - one leaf showing rusty tip Day 18: Temps high 29-32!! Humid 45-55 Raised light to highest point and lowered intensity to 50% (as advised by Mars Hydro) Temps concerning but extraction on full blast Noticed a couple vaguely rusty spots One minuscule tear/hole in a leaf I know my temps and humidity are moving mad but it's dependent on the time of day and I'm struggling to regulate them both It's just nice to be able to share my progress with like-minded enthusiasts and to know there's a vast wealth of information and knowledge to take in so thanks for stopping by and hope you've enjoyed the long read. Pop in occasionally for updates and to see how these babies progress! (If I can figure out pics ) PEACE AND LOVE
Hi Guys, I'm Dave and I'm a noob to growing. Im finding it difficult to get information regarding cheaper LED brands as a lot of the brands mentioned on forums/youtube seem to be either exclusive to the US or not around anymore and certainly not accessible to me in the UK. So, to the setup so far: 4ftx4ftx6ft tent 5" rvk fan with 6" carbon filter attached for outlet 4" rvk fan for inlet plagron allmix root bags beginners mistake: 1 x Wappa, 1 x vertigo (auto), 1 x Mexican Sativa, 1 x ruderalis indica (semi-auto) and 1 x either cambodian or jam sensi... and yes I now know I shouldn't have gone for all different seeds, but they're about 6" tall now and I don't want to start again. I figured I'd just experiment this 1st time and use it as a learning experience and not be too upset about yield. I managed to get all the above for what I think is a good price (£200). the final thing I've been researching is my lighting and my eyes are finding it difficult to cope with reading screens most the day trying to find the best bang for my buck without getting fleeced. I've got an absolute max budget of £300 and I definitely need to go the LED route due to other means producing too much heat. I've been in-touch with Mars who recommended the mars2 1200W or the reflector 192. They seem okay, however, I'm not fully convinced as I've heard that 1200w lets out a lot of heat. Should i go for one big light to cover it all all loats of small ones? Heat is something i want to keep to a bare minimum and 300 quid is max. As you can tell ive only really found mars to be within my range and would really like to hear about other affordable trustworthy brands. I would really appreciate any of your suggestions. thank you Dave
Hi am after some advice from experienced growers , its a first indoor grow but first some information. Media / nutes - plant magic supreme , and oldtimers veg / bloom , root granuals and silicone . Strains - incredible bulk auto , rhino ryder auto , royal bluematic auto , royal dwarf auto Grow space 4ft by 1 and half foot closet grow . ( 6 square feet ) floor space, total height is 4 foot thats were lights are situated 6" rhino hobby carbon filtration exhaust into loft space . Lighting mars hyro 300 = around 140 true watt 2 x 50w warm led floodlights 4 x 125w cfl daylights ----------- So my question is mainly about lighting have i got enough? I know the l.e.d floodlights are not ideal/ recommended but they were only bought as a cheap substitute / suplimmental lighting ... i figured they cost 17 pound ( less than a bag of weed ).....the cfls i had knocking about anyway . Now the mars lighting - is this enough for the space i am using on its own ? Would i be better buying 1-2 more same size or a mars 600 ( just under 300w actual draw ) or would 450 true watt alltogether be overkill on a 6ft square space ???? Has anyone used warm 2000 odd K white l.e.d floodlights for supplimental lighting? on bottom closet shining up on a angle for the lower buds??? I know cfl are meant be daylight for veg then swapped to a 2000 odd k bulb but can i flower well using the daylight bulbs alongside the flowering spectrum led units without it making airy buds etc ? The reason i think this is because you can mix flower and veg cfls through flowering surely a flower spectrum led and veg cfl would give simmilar effects?? Now please take it easy on me i am a beginner and i am posting for advice any comments will be took on board 👍
