  1. Im currently doing the rounds with wholesale changes possibly afoot...I needed a new light, so I went LED - all new, and now we doing OK. I then thought 'since were changing the light, why dont we have a go at hydro? - so I bought coco - and havent looked back thus far...in fact im sure im not, but I feel like im smashing it I recently bought a camper van and like to get away which kind of fucks with the grow - short bursts do anyway. Long term lights off doesnt cause too much harm, up to 3 weeks in my experinece, but the lights are off and nothing is doing... i tried a passive hydro system, Blumats - loved the idea... That kinda worked on their day - ish, maybe, kinda/wanna/sorta didnt really in the end..., and was very unrelaible over periods of days, so the natural progression is just to go all out and go hydro, for the summer anyway. I fancy the IWS system as its largely self contained, apparently it adjusts itself not to over flood, and is bulletproof relaible...and if im only away a few days i can also reduce the res capacity so if I did get an issue, then it could manage the overun.. Im petrified of the nuteage situation. I had problems stabilizing my PH with the blumats in my 47L res and now thakfully back to hand watering - but that wont do at all when I need my open spaces - . I never filled it over about 30L anyway, but my plants were massively over fed which means my PH was probably out. Also blumats in coco dont create runoff so I assume some fo that over feding would have been roots related... In short I want to use an Auto PH range that just needs dosing to the water...does this exist? Is it any good? is it massively expensive ?- who has experience? if any? Im happy to aeriate with a pump of course, but if i could PH without PHing in a 100L res that would make my life a whole lot simpler...and easier. being a long term organic grower Ive never really had to bother about dry plants until recently. Ideally I'd like to fuck off for the week, but if I did that my weed would never grow - part of me wild campervanning is about my weed and devices on tour anyways i digress.
  2. Hi Everyone, this is my first post so be gentle :-) So a little back story, I've been growing now for around 4 years. Started on soil with a cheap all in one setup from Ebay, it did the trick and the itch started. Fast forward to today, I have the following setup in my boxroom upstairs. Budbox Pro 1.2x1.2m Mars Hydro TS 3000 Grow Light RVK 6" with stepdown speed controller Rhino Pro Carbon filter 6" Charles Austen ET40 Air pump OxyPot V9 Res 100L Bluelab Guardian Monitor 100L Flexitank for mixing up nutes Couple of cheap water pumps Plant Magic range of nutes Today I'm a confident grower and can handle any issues the setup throws at me. The last part of the setup I want to change is the grow system. I've been using one large res normally used for vegging for the entire grow, usually 4-5 plants in the OxyPot V9. Don't get me wrong this setup has been amazing, always blows me away how quick they grow when the roots hit the water. I'm finding having one large tank is a pain, the roots become entangled quickly so I'm unable to rotate the plants, takes up the entire floor of the tent and restricts airflow under the canopy. Just harvested in December and had my first brush with bud rot. Caught it early but still scared the shit out of me. I've been wanting an RDWC setup for a while and it's time to pull the trigger for my next grow. The bud box tent for example was purchased due to the raised poles on two sides allowing pipes to run under them. The IWS RDWC Pro is the system I've got my eye on, onestop just dropped the price down to £400 for the 4pot, I know I could DIY, I'm lazy and would prefer something already The only thing that worries me in the noise. I live in a terrace, over 100 years old so decent walls. I've mentioned to my neighbour when I first moved in that I have a big fish tank and sometimes the air pump gets noisy (a trick I read on here once), neighbour said he's never heard anything so happy with that. How loud are the pumps in the system? I can see a few posts regarding noisy pumps in RDWC and wanted to know if this kit has the same issues. I would post pics of my setup but it's like a bomb site at the moment as one grows just finished and I'm cleaning room etc. If you have made it this far I would like to say thank you, and I look forward to contributing to the community.

  6. Is this doable? Currently using 60/40 in the F&D and it just takes too long to dry out, so I want to switch to clay pebbles, but this means I need to change my veg system: I'd like to use the oxypot system to veg then transplant into my IWS F&D system, would I be able to remove the plant from the oxypot without damaging the root system? Or could I put the whole pot into the IWS pot and add more pebbles? Thanks
  7. HELLO fellow growers. is anyone using a alien xl flood and drain? whats your experience ? ive heard bad things that the float sensor blocks from build up and has anyone used a iws pro? need peoples opinions on them before i buy one
  8. Hi Guys I need to know a way of raising the thhe water level in the IWS buckets for the first week or so so that it touches cubes until roots are established. I have been putting the 3" rockwool cubes lower, but once roots are through i am unable to raise them a roots are tngled in bottom of mesh pots. This then leads to cubes being totally soaked and getting rot at the bottom of plant stem and most dying ? Is there a way around this ? Cheers
  9. Just wondered if the is a general ish consensus to the min and max flow rate you should have in an IWS bubbler
