  1. Hey all! I was about to say, Happy Friday to all, before realising it's only Thursday and the weekend is some time away yet so, yeah... that sucks. Anyway.... I have a Q for you and MASSIVE apologies in advance for asking a question that has been discussed to death; I have searched for the answers but got multiple answers over different years making some of the older answers a bit redundant so, I was hoping you could help me... as follows: My BudBox Pro (1M x 1M x 2M) has a Mars Hydro FC-E3000 which is adequate for the needs of main lighting but I wondered whether additional side/bottom-up LED would be a good call? Or an alternative to LED?? I was wondering whether someone had gone through this and had a solution that suited them and their grows. For example I have a spare Mars Hydro TS1000 which pulls 157W at the wall but I wonder if that's too high, too low, if ya see what I mean, and I only have one of them so perhaps something less likely to make the girls want to grow 90 degrees from vertical? I wondered whether a few low voltage led globes, maybe 4 - one for each side, at tent base level - would add anything? If so, any recommendations for lumens/colour spectrum? Is it even worth it? Tl;Dr: is there any point adding say, a few warm white LED lamps (7W) into the base of the grow tent or is that utterly stupid? I do defoliate quite heavily during my grows to ensure good distribution, but I don't go too far, to the detriment of our lovely plants. I just want to find that balance, and to find a better way to bring on the smaller growth. Are there a 'go-to' lamp fitting for us growers that I have totally overlooked? Again, apologies for asking - I'm really still very noob at all this and you guys and girls/this forum has been utterly transformative in terms of my learning and grows, so thanks a LOAD in advance!
  2. Hi. I am in the process of setting up my 2ft x 4ft (120cm x 60cm) which will have a 320W LED light installed. I don't really want to get a HPS to use in winter. I am about to insulate the shed. But obviously need a heat source for my grow tent. I am going to get 120x60cm heat mat for the grow tent, but in terms of heat for the autumn / winter I presume I will also need a 60W or so tube heater or similar in the tent? I will be controlling the heater with an Inkbird. Could you advise on the likely heat requirements and method that would be your recommendation and how much wattage I probably need please? Cheers, Midge
  3. Hi, I've just put a 10ft x 8ft shed in my garden in sunny Manchester and plan to dedicate a small space inside to grow - organically, at least in the first instance. However I have to make it stealthy as feck as we have a lot of people in and out of the garden throughout the year and though I will keep it locked, my kids will no doubt peek in from time to time. I am trying to choose between a 60cm x 120 cm x 18cm tent and a 75cm x 75cm x 200cm tent and lights to go with it. I want to be able to grow taller plants as required 1-2 big photos or 3 - 4 autos at a time. I need to have it in place by October so if the end of the outdoor season is as crap as the summer has been, I will finish her off indoors before doing my first indoor cycle. That'll give me time between now and then to insulate the shed to maintain heat levels and stealth, to finish installing the electric supply etc. The reason I am having a job choosing is that I need to make it as easy to cover over when I need to make it look like a normal stacked shed (when people come over and look in). 75cm x 75cm tent will come up to the start of the first window, so may be harder to hide from the outside, the 120cm x 60cm takes up more width, so may need more concealing in general? If concealment wasn't an issue, I'd definitely go with the 60cm x 120cm as it should allow 2 medium large plants to grow with space for heat, humidity and fans around them. Can anyone offer any advice from experience as to which format makes sense? Am I making a mountain out of a molehill when it comes to the difference in sizes/formats? Finally, would you say something like 200W/240W would be enough to max that space, or would it be wiser to push the boat out and get a 300W/320W as I suspect? Cheers! Midge
  4. Hi hope you're all well and having a chilled out Sunday... I'm after abit of advice.... Would you go for 4x4 or 5x5 with a 4x4 grow space? I'm thinking that a bit of space around the sides for training etc just out weighs a bit of a loss in reflection from the sides if that makes sense I'm thinking of an 8inch fan and filer so no probs there. I might just be over thinking it...just go bigger... Thanks Forgot to say that my light is optimised for 4x4...
  5. Hi All, I'm back again after my first grow in a shipping container 3 years ago. This time I'm just doing a simple grow at home in a 60x60x140 grow tent. I've purchased white widdow autos from the vault: (They haven't arrived just yet. Maybe brevity has broken some deliveries?) In the past I used Dinafem with great results, but can't purchase from them right now Anyway. My first grow I kept my autos in coco coir used the standard canna A&B - I can't remember the dosage. I'm sure it was 5ml of each per litre of water? And finally I kept the lights on (600w lamp) 24/7 but now I'm using LED,should I change anything? Thanks for reading. I hope someone can help
  6. Hi, Currently have a Tent = 2m x 1.2m x 2m an odd size i know, but it is the largest that will fit in my space. Would love a 2.40m but it just won't go! 2 x 600w hps 8" filter, big and way over spec but works! Fan is outside the tent. LED i'm looking at that fits this tent is something like the Lumatek Zeus 465w x2 My current tent is knackered so it needs replacing one way or the other. I also thought it a good time to move over to LED! The type i like the look of are the strip type that have uniform spread over the canopy. The only thing with this is that i won't be able to lift them up as high as the HPS because the filter would be in the way. If they made a this tent in a 2.2m+ height it be great, but they don't. Alternative option is a 1.5 x 1,5m Green Qube, slightly smaller footprint, and square but is taller so would cope the the filter and would require only one 600w LED. I could get one of these "in-line" filters to solve the 2m height limit in the current tent but have no idea how good the are? Also my current filter is new, so would feel a waste. It appears to me, while LED is supposed to be better, it's not as flexible as HPS. What would you do?
  7. Title. I can’t seem to get a 2m X 1m tent for love nor money! Other than building my own or going for 2 tents can’t anyone suggest anything? 2.4m X 1.2m was originally the option but it pretty much fills the entire room leaving approx a 1ft wide walk way which leaves little to no room for manoeuvre!
  8. Hello 420. I Attempted my first grow this year after a long smoking career of 16 years ! I wanted to try the autoflowers.Which I am pleased to say i am very happy with. I bodged the grow room in a little old coal shed on end of my house with some cheap 40 watt led blue and red lights accompanied by a 50 watt white LEDS I purchased from amazon. I taped foil onto walls and used smart pots and canna veg and flora throughout grow. TBH i was impressedwith results considering the conditions. I would like to buy New LED light and grow tent for 80x80 space Any Recommendations / advice from some experienced growers would be most welcome
  9. Hi guys hope all is growing well So gonna be a bit of a long one explaining how I've set up part of a shipping container as a grow. So back to work tomorrow after 3 months off on furlough. Have been nice and busy while off. I decided at the start of lockdown to have a go at growing for the 1st time. As we have a couple of fields I decided to dot 10 or so plants arround diffrent areas gorrila style. So after a couple of weeks turns out Iv caught the bug ( growing not corrona) 10 plants quickly turned to 20 then 30 not I'm at 50. With the unpredictable weather I decided to make a move to inside with the best few so have set up a 1.2 x 2.4 tent inside a shipping container that I wasnt doing much with. I have cut out all the ventilation and intake and extended the ring main from the house so that I have decent power. I have also built a distro board for everything. I have 2 600w duel spectrum lights with vented hoods running and am realy happy so far. I have a humidifier and dehumidifier in there set to keep everything at 50 as some are budding. I have a sms controler and have just ordered the pro controler aswell to help with heat as in the day I need to run all fans turned up but at night can dial them down to keep temps so that will automatically do everything. I have also just bought a 8 pot alien pro silver rdwc system what I'm keen to use. I've also just bought a 2nd tent to use for drying what also has a seperate shelves section what I may keep a couple of mother plants In. Any tips or of you see anything that you would do differently please comment as im sure there are plenty of ideas out there. If you have still stuck arround and read to this point cheers guys and thanks in advance.
  10. Hi all, I'm starting a 5 plant scrog in the coming weeks and I need some advice from experienced growers. If I talk you through my set up can you let me know your thoughts please? It would be much appreciated. I intend to do a very thorough diary and would like to make this a successful grow. Tent - 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.8 lighting - 1 or 2 600w hps (dimmable 250w,400,600w, 660w) Seeds - bruce banner (shortish+bushy) Plant number - 5 (12 litre fabric pots) Medium - Coca coir pro + Nuts - Cana A + B / Cana Calmag Air Extraction - 8inch fan/filter Airflow - 1x clip fan + 1 oscillating fan Temp control - inkbird duel temp controller Training - topping / defoiliation So If I list my questions to mae things a little easier. 1. Would you recommend 2 lights? And if so would you run them both at 400w to total 800w or 600w each to total 1200w. 2. The seeds have to go straight in the tent once germinated. what lighting would you recommend for the first weeks of seedling growth? 3. I was going to scrog them over a 1.2 x 1.2 net in the tent, or would you recommend using the full tent. Would you adjust the lighting for the 2 options? 4. Pot size/lighting - what size pots would be best for the size and lighting? I plan on topping twice before flipping to 12/12. Im using fabric pots and planned on going from 1 litre to 4 litre then up to 12 litre pots. Thanks in advance everybody much appreciated. You will be noted in my grow diary. I'll give you a link once it starts! Happy growing.
  11. Hi this is my first post I'm new to the game, like most people I'm sick of spending bare dollar so decided I want to grow my own stuff I want to jump straight into growing autos hydroponically with the DWC method as it seems to be more beginner friendly, however it does appear to cost slightly more but I'm sure it's worth the initial investment! Things intend to purchase: (please advise me if I could change something to make it better) - x2 Pre made DWC buckets with air pumps + stones from eBay. - x1 spare bucket (for regular cleaning) - FloraMicro/Grow/Bloom all 1L bottles. - VIPARSPECTRA Full Spectrum 300W - Grow tent - Air fan - Canna AQUA Clay pebbles for growing medium - x2 rockwool cubes - PH / PPM tester - Water temp tester - x2 Auto seeds I get how the system all works... what gets me with DWCs is the nutrients, I think I'm kind of understanding however I have a few questions if anybody knows some may be daft but we all start somewhere gimme chance 1) Do you put nutrients in the water once you've put your seedling into the rockwool and into the clay pebbles? If so how much is recommended for an auto plant? 2) When water levels drop should I fill it with just tap water and add nutrients every few days or when I clean the buckets every 10 days? Or should I fill it with both water and nutrients and keep in the PH range of 5.5 - 6.5 I'm aiming for a constant 5.8 as I believe this is a perfect ph for hydros? 3) How regularly should you put nutrients into the water? 4) Should I use an automatic water heater? Or would this cause more harm than good? The temp should be between 15 and 20 degrees celsius right? 5) How would I know when to turn the lights to 12/12? 6) Recommendations for 2 auto seeds with my 300w LED preferably two different types? A 50/50 mix ideally a social high not one to knock me out 7) Finally what size grow tent for two autos on 300w LED? I wasn't too sure where to put this so if it's in the wrong section I apologise I went completely off nutrients and onto other shit, I'm pretty baked haha Cheers
  12. So I’m looking for a very oddly sized tent, I’ve got a 90x60x90 tent for veg but really it’s too small to be a veg tent for a 1.2m tent. I grow 9 at a time In 6.5l and want quick turn around! Has anyone seen a 120x60x120 tent around? Closest I can find is 120x60x150 but if I get another tent I’d need to put the smaller tent on top because of space problems.. so many problems!!!
  13. Hello everyone, first of all let me start by saying how happy I am to be part of this group of people. I have my days as grower in the past, but never dared starting anything in the UK as too scared of unfortunate outcomes. Here I am now, with a lot more experience in different fields & willing to experiment something new. So, I’m planning a little aquaponic system for my conservatory. I’m oriented to place the aquaponic system within a grow tent, and here hopefully you come to my rescue with a few tips & advice. Here’s my questions: -Has anyone ever attempted growing in aquaponic & if yes with which results? -lightning need for about 2-3 plants? -LED yes or no? Obviously considering the number of plants above. -Aereation/Extraction most reliable & quiet choice? -And last what would be a good Indica strain, once again coming from your past experience that would give me a good yield? (In the past I sticked to Amnesia, Blue Cheese,White widow. Any recommendations of any new interesting fruity/sweet strain? Thanks in advance. Sonny
  14. heating tube heater

Life, never an easy one. So I am still ( I was hoping to have started a couple of weeks ago by now...but never mind. Preparation is the key, although necessity is the mother of invention- as some might say) getting the final bits together before embarking on a grow. This is the problem atm. Heating. Temperature in a growing space needs to have some sort of control, so what is the best way of heating a 80cmx80cmx160cm grow tent? So far I have looked a numerous methods, tube heaters, small fan heaters, etc.. but would anyone have advice from experience of heating this space? I am using a Mars Hydra II, 400w, a 5inch RAM air fan to extract attached to a 5inch Rhino Pro carbon filter. At present the temperature with the lights on and the fan running is only 22c (RH- 57%). No plants in yet (unless you count a couple of chilli plants to check out the heat and humidty levels in the tent). I appreciate RH levels will change with plants in and growing, the bigger and more water then higher levels. What am looking for is a simple heating method with some sort of thermostat to regulate temperatures. Any suggestions/ideas more than welcome.
  15. Good afternoon fellow growers. So I am now awaiting delivery of various orders, (tube heater) and considering what size and sort of pots will be ideal for my grow conditions. I have the 80x80x180 grow tent and am wondering whar the ideal number of plants to grow in this space is. I have a Mars Hydro II 400w. I am planning on root riot to start in a propagator but the questions are how many should I fit into this size tent with the light I have and what sort of potss and size would be ideal. I was thinking after the root riots (hopefully I will be successful with germination) that 3-4 plants would be good. Is this too many ,would it reduce my yield? Would I be better going for two plants? What about the size of the pots? 15 litre or 22 litre, which is better. I am hoping to do some topping or LST to encourage an even canopy growth. Any answers would be very welcome. CSensi.
  16. okay, hello everyone. my first post to coincide with my first grow. I am growing in Allmix and before getting started I checked the PH value of the Allmix. 1. using Allmix +distilled water gave me a reading of 5.5 2. Allmix +tap water (which I measured at 7), gave me a reading of 5.5 again. according to my research so far, there is no need to adjust organic prepared soil PH levels as they are meant to adjust to nutrient take up by the plant of themselves. Is this correct given the results above or given the results (which I have checked about 3 times) should I up the PH? If so can the PH be increased using chemical additives to the water and if yes can this be added with any nutrients that are being added to the water or would this causes problems? Any replies greatly appreciated. thanks.
  17. Please move if posted in wrong place Hi everyone. Been reading on here for a while found a lot of helpful information that’s helped me with my first few attempts. Long story short I started growing to help my mum who had terminal cancer with pain relief, fast forward 18 months and I’m now on my 4th grow. I’m struggling to achieve gpw and think this is down to my environment. I have a 1.2m bloomroom loft tent. I have a 6 inch outtake with a rhino filter. Currently using passive intake with a bit of ducting from room below. Running a 600w hps with dimmable omega ballast. X2 oscillating fans, humidifier for veg. 700w oil filled rad for lights off. My fan is a rhino thermostatic but I don’t think the temp control is very reliable. I’ve been using 11l pots with pure canna coco. Using canna range a and b, rhiz, cannazym, boost and pk. Swapped pk for bloombastic on current grow as advised by someone better than me lol. Watering every 2 days up to 2.5L in flower! Don’t seem to be getting the growth I would like in veg and seems to take forever for them to gain size! Now for the questions please! Do I need an intake fan? If so what size? Recommendations on fan controllers for intake outake and heater? Or easiest way to control them all? Would I be better doing 9x6.5l? Less veg time? If so would I put them straight under hps from cutting? A lot more info to share with you guys if you need any to help me! Sorry to ask so many questions on my first post! Thanks in advance
  18. Hi All I hail from the emerald isle, though spent most adult life in London. Had to come back here (northern part) a few years ago. I'm just starting out growing. Last summer, without any reading, bought an AK Automatic x 2. Tried the papertowl thing, but forgot to water it. It died. Second seed, straight to soil in summer (indoors during night, day outside) autoflowering. Came on a serious pace, til i killed it by overwatering, and putting in a pot with no drainage. Got three narcotherapy autos from barneys seeds. Got a 300w cfl dual, planted seeds, two in small pots with numerous airholes all round in 50/50 mylar, and one straight into an 18.6L fabric grow bag. The one in the grow bag was three times the size of the other two, it was at least ten inches from seed around week three I think, then because I just had the lamp suspended above plants balanced precariously on a mirror, and ikea box (didn't know about grow tents), it collapsed, and two small plants were killed, and the big one, was cut in half. I kept it growing, moved it into a 50cmx50cmx100cm black orchid tent, with fan, but no extractors, just vents open, for airflow, as there is little scent from it. Started nutrients, but fucked that up as well, as I realised i ordered the Canna hydro specific nutes. Anyway, she is fighting to the last, and a mate gave me a scientific level microscope with four different lens strengths. Strong enough to pick up the striations in metal. So, I'll use that to check up on her trichomes (I've been reading round the clock and watching videos, as I'm disabled, so have the time to devote, well, all my time, to learning very quickly, and am taking great delight in simply growing something I KNOW the strain, and having the pleasure, in due course, of smoking something I knew as a tiny seed.) for the right time to harvest......need to read and watch more about drying and curing... Anyway, I'm sorry if this should have all been posted in different sections, but my disability affects my, er thinking, so sometimes if i don't put it down when i think of it, i forget entirely. I just need some advice. Being an all in sort of person, I bought 3 lamps, apart from the beginner cfl. They are a dual 600 hps, a 600 veg hps or mh..one red and one blue. Also bought a cheap chinese "80 watt true output" led multi spectrum, as the price was ridiculous, but reviews good, and thought it would be an experiment. But to get to the point. As I said, the black orchid tent 50x50x100, which I'm super pleased with as i got it from the ventilation hub on ebay, over 25 cheaper than on amazon, is i think, only suitable for one plant? As cash is a bit tight, I can't at the moment order a large black orchid suitable for up to four to five plants, so after watching a vid on youtube about making your own grow space using cardboard, I ordered two double thickness cardboard wardrobes (used by movers to put your shirts into straight off the peg), and planned to join them together. They are double thickness and measure 50+ (few extra cms) square at the bottom, and over 80cm tall. I worked out , as I'm shite with number stuff, that no matter what way I join them, they will have still the 50cm width, but a 100mm length. As they only cost under £8quid a wardrobe, getting another two, and joining all together, will give 100mm length and width i.e. 1m squared. Already bought the black/white reflective lining, plus have enough mylar to ensure total coverage of reflective material. I also (I also have OCD and paranoia lol) bought polystyrene to insulate the cardboard before attaching the mylar. Now, and again apologies for not posting in relevant forums, as I'm pressed for time to return the lights..i.e. the dual 600, which I don't need, or all three for something smaller. Already got the dimmable digi ballast (refurbed from manufacturer choice of 200 400 or 600w), but need to know if I put all the boxes together to make a diy home made grow space, to accommodate four plants, do I need 600w lamps? I'll be going the blue and red phase hid's. Or should I get 400w lamps instead? Last but not least, can you point me in the direction of how to set up an extractor fan and ducting. Got the ducting and the filter, but looking at the online fans, I can't see how to connect them up. Recommendations on the cheapest, but decent quality fans would be appreciated, as this will be a full time activity, albeit on a small scale. My brain needs simple explanations, as due to some brain trauma, memory is shot, and I need childlike step by step instructions. A lot are advertised as inline fans, so I figure they are connected by ducting at one end, then attached to the filter at an exhaust port, but what about the intake? Is it simply a short piece of ducting material sucking in air? Or am I missing something? Finally, in a set up like this, what be the recommended intake intake fan? The filter is 4", a hefty piece of gear. Also, last one, I put four seeds in an electric propagator two days ago using a root riot pod, soaked in rain water then squeezed, surrounded by compost. One has germinated already. Should I now give them lighting, (they're in bedroom, so just get room light) I have a cfl 55watt doing nothing in particular, and could easily hang this over them... Sorry for all the questions....its just that Ive only three days left to request a return on the lamps, so input on that alone would be useful. As for the rest, you can redirect me to the proper forum. Being disabled (mentally and physically), basically, groups of people I avoid, or all people on certain days, but can walk to an extent, and move in short spaces, means I have full time to devote to learning about these little beauties, reading and watching, and it has given me a whole new Major interest. I could buy the finished project, but what prices they charge are galling, plus I could never enjoy it not knowing Exactly what it is.........I was only interested to this extent in motorbikes before, hence injuries, but this has been like an awakening. Again, my apologies for cramming so much into an intro post, but just need some guidance on the lamps. The rest, I'll read all your posts. But planted three peyote critical (photos) and a violator kush, but that got left out overnight after 24hours soaking, and i gave it a squeeze to make sure it wasn't fag ash, but planted now, but I might have fucked it. My trip to specsavers is long over due.
  19. Hi all I posted a few weeks back, asking for some help and advice as my friend (@maverick40b) and I are getting set-up for our first grow, we got some good feedback across the various posts we put up and some great help along the way. 20. How man plants could I realistically grow in a 1m (39.3") x 1m (39.3") x 2m (78.7") grow tent if growing in soil and how many if growing with hydroponics? With hydro, the res and chiller (if I need one) can go outside, yes? Thanks all.
  21. Hi! I went away at the weekend and I think my electricity stopped for 12 hours. I was planning on harvesting today and I noticed my timer was 12 hours out. So the plants got full light during the dark hours for 1 / 2 days! Do you think this would have any negative effects on my crops? Or is it so close to harvest now that it does not matter anymore. Thanks for any knowledge!
  22. Hey all. I'm finally in a position to grow myself, I've got my own 1 bed apartment and plan to set up a tent in the bedroom. I've been looking at all components (lights etc..) and prices. Looking on the forum Green Qube seem to be good quality tents. They currently have an offer on their LED / White Qube (LED or White depending where you look on the website) for 125.99. I am planning on growing using 2 315 CMHs. Using one for veg then adding another for flower. I was wondering if there is much difference between the white and silver mylar and if its worth paying the extra, a 1.2x1.2 is 150 .and if the tent is too big, i.e. there is wasted light due to lack of reflection. the recommended seems to be 2 CMHs in a 1.2x1.2. Will I be able to fit some more plants in a 1.4x1.4? I've contacted green qube about reflective differences but had no reply.
  23. Hi, I am totally new to this and have done some research. I've decided on a BudBox Pro Grow Tent (75cm x 75cm x 160cm). Being a beginner, I was hoping to buy a complete set including the tent, lights, fan and filter but cannot find this online. Does anyone know where I can buy this or recommend a complete kit that has everything I need to get started that does the job well? I have found some complete sets online but with poor reviews. Any advice would be most welcome.
  24. I have posted a similar question before but was hoping it may been seen by more people who can help in this catagory. Going against the correct advice given here not to buy a complete set up, I did buy a complete set up. I wish now I had listened to the advice and not bought it. The equipment is all very well made but the 250w with 250w ballast HPS light is too hot for a tiny 50x50x100cm tent where I will be growing one plant. After setting it all up and leaving a thermometer inside I left the light and outlet fan on for an hour or so and the temperature rose to 35c/95f. I think this is too hot for what I need. After reading about how to cool things down I bought a 6 inch desk fan which has done nothing to cool the tent down. The ballast is on a shelf outside and above the tent and I have a 5" extraction fan. I thought of buying a lesser wattage bulb (maybe 150w) but it will not be compatible with the 250w ballast. It is strange as it's been very cold and the room/cupboard where the tent is kept has a temperature of 15c/60f. I am at a loss especially as the people where I bought the kit from are very unhelpful. Should I sell everything and start afresh listening to the advice i've been given on this forum or does anyone know other ways to cool the tent down?
  25. So, I've currently got a CBD Therapy grow going on in a 1 x 1 x 2 metre tent, which is going nicely. However, I now have the availability of a greenhouse in which to try a few grows in. I put a Therapy Clone in there last week & after just checking on her she looks really healthy indeed, like she's loving it in there!! I guess that now, in the UK at least, is the best time to be getting your pre-established plants outdoors if you can. I read somewhere that early June is the ideal time to get your plants outside & that once the summer solstice passes on the 20th June (which is in a few days time!!) the plants will naturally start entering the flowering stage. Is this so, even if I only just put the plant out in the greenhouse last week? I put a couple of new strains into seed a month or so ago and I'm currently vegging them in my holding tent with the intention of transferring them into my flowering tent once the CBD Therapy that's currently in there has been harvested, but now, based on seeing how the Therapy clone is taking to the greenhouse, and the natural, full spectrum light, I am wondering whether I'd be better served transferring these new strains into the greenhouse asap, ultimately looking to harvest sometime around mid October. What do you think fellas, what would be your advice on where to put my currently vegging strains now that I have a greenhouse available? The new strains that I'm asking your advice on regarding the growing environment are all Sativa dominant strains, all 75-25% Sativa's; Super Silver Haze, CBD Mango Haze & Strawberry Sour Diesel.
