  1. Sweet Amnesic Gorilla Girl in the Hazy Tropic of Canna. Greetings, and welcome once again to my Sweecret Laboratory. A big thanks to Sweet Seeds Tommy, Jaypp and Apolo for putting on another amazing competition I'm not getting much time at all on the boards due to work but it would be rude not to join the fun here at Sweet Seeds. So after lot's of umming and arring about not having time I've decided to join the show anyway and just do what I can, when I can and hope it's not a disaster After my run of 6 for the 6th it would have been great to run 7 for the 7th. There's no way I'd fit it all in though in time for the deadline. I only just managed to get 6 reports done and posted within a minute of the deadline last year so this time it might be easier with only 3 strains. I'll be growing Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version, Gorilla Girl and Sweet Amnesia Haze. One plant of each. This will be my first coco diary and there will be other plants in the room too but they're not getting documented anywhere. So, me being new to coco this will help me keep it simple by just concentrating on 3 plants for the diary. I've done 2 micro grows in my veg cab in coco prior to this. The first wasn't up to much but the 2nd was great. The downfall here is I won't have time to handwater twice daily and deal with run off so I'll be trying my hand at Blumats when these get in their finals. This is also new to me, I've had the Blumats for ages but not got around to using them yet. Gorilla Girl. This strain is the resulting hybrid from the cross between two of the most famous and powerful genetics coming from the USA: Gorilla Glue X Girl Scout Cookies. The GSC specimen used for this cross comes from the phenotype known as “Thin Mint”. An Indica-Sativa hybrid with Sativa predominance. Gorilla Girl® (SWS74) is a strain with a very powerful effect, featuring very high THC levels that can reach to between 20% and 31% in optimum growing conditions. Some specimens can even exceed these levels. The resin production of this strain is copious, covering all the flower calyxes with aromatic trichomes. The buds are very resinous and compact. Gorilla Girl® features intense taste and aroma, with cypress tones and a touch of wood, complemented with hints of earth and citrus. The plants look like balanced Indica-Sativa hybrids, very productive and vigorous, with long and flexible side branches. Indica: 40% / Sativa: 60% THC: 20-31% · CBD: 0,1% Indoor Yield: 400-550 g/m2 Outdoor Yield: 350-600 g/plant Indoor Blooming: 9 weeks Outdoor Harvest: early October Awards 1º Award – Indoor – Festival 1422 – Argentina – 2018 1º Award – higuest THC – Sannabis Cup – Johannesburgo – Sudáfrica – 2019 Sweet Amnesia Haze. Cross between two Amnesia Haze “elite” clones of exceptional quality. The result is a mainly Sativa genetic of excellent quality and fast flowering time. The Amnesia strain is one of the fastest plants within the famous Haze family. Sweet Amnesia Haze® (SWS72) has a very vigorous growth. With the shape of a christmas tree, the plants produce long side branches. It is a very high yielder for a Sativa strain, producing compact and extremely resinous buds. As a very easy-to-grow strain, it is suitable for every kind of growers, from beginners to experienced. The tastes and aromas of this genetic are amazing and made it famous worldwide. It features a taste and aroma with lemon citrus tones, a complex incense background and hints of cedar wood. Indica: 30% / Sativa: 70% THC: 16-22% · CBD: 0,1% Indoor Yield: 450-600 g/m2 Outdoor Yield: 400-650 g/plant Indoor Blooming: 9 weeks Outdoor Harvest: late September Awards 1º Award – Exterior – VI Copa Cata del Oeste – Buenos aires – Argentina – 2019 Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast Version. These plants, with red flowers and ultrafast flowering, are a photoperiod-dependent, feminised version of one of the most famous varieties in the US “Super Strong” Cookies family – Tropicanna Cookies (Girl Scout Cookies x Tangie). It is the cross of an elite, selected Tropicanna Cookies clone, with a red flower phenotype, and our highly regarded, red flower, autoflowering strain Red Poison Auto® (SWS39). The plants are very productive and resinous, with THC levels of up to 24% and extremely high terpene levels. The buds have an excellent aroma and taste; they are very sweet, intense and dense, with tones of mango, earthy, wooden hints, and a subtle Skunk background. Indica: 60% / Sativa: 40% THC: 16-24% · CBD: 0,1% Indoor Yield: 450-600 g/m2 Outdoor Yield: 400-650 g/plant Indoor Blooming: 6-7weeks Outdoor Harvest: late August, early September Red flower: approximately 80% of the specimens Equipment, medium and nutrients. Root riot cubes for germination. 1 Litre square plastic pots. 7 Litre round fabric final pots. Tropf Blumat system. TNC MycorrMax on pot ups. Canna coco pro+. Perlite. Intense Nutrients Foundation root stim. Remo Nutrients, full range minus Velo Kelp, hence the Foundation root stim. Intense Nutrients Down and dirty. Cheapo EC meter. Bluelabs PH pen. Propagation. DIY veg cab measuring 60 x 55 x 115 Speed controlled 4" RVK extraction with passive intake ducting from a DIY radiator box. 6" desk fan for circulation Large heated propagator base with no lid. Gravel tray with propagation lid. Dimmable 135w HLG Quantum board V2 Veg and flower. 120 x 120 x 180 tent in an uninsulated attic room. I've insulated one side in the eaves but the roof and other side are just plaster so I have a duvet and some large bubble bubble wrap draped over the tent roof to keep heat in. TD Silent 6" 2 speed extraction with 6" Rhino pro filter. Intake from 2 x 4" RVKs into 6" ducting through a y piece and reducers. One from the rad box and one from the veg cab. Both are speed controlled to adjust temps and humidity and also keep negative pressure in the tent. It's not brilliant but the best I can do for an attic room environment without investing in fancy controllers. Electric blanket for keeping the roots warm, plugged into an Inkbird thermostat with probe. RAM 3 speed oscillating fan for air movement. There'll be one 315w CMH with a 942 daylight bulb for veg and then another 315w CMH with a 930 agro bulb added for flowering. I'll change the 942 to another 930 agro after the stretch. They are Maxibright ballasts with daylight reflectors. The story so far. On New year's eve I put the root riot cubes in a small tray with lid on in the veg cab to warm them up. The cubes were already wet from the bag and I added 2ml of water with root stim added at 2ml/L. My heated prop base was set at 26C, lamp at 24" above tray lid, dimmed to 60w. The rad in the rad box was at just over half on the dial with the switch set on 2 out of 3. This was keeping the temp in the germination tray at 27C. Vents on the tray lid were taped over to keep the humidity up. After 2 hours the temp had risen to 28 so I turned the prop base down to 25. The seeds were then placed straight from the freezer into the cubes in my usual manner, 10mm deep, point down and a corner of each cube stuffed into each hole, then pushed down to come in contact with the seeds and keep them wet all around. 1st Jan. The Gorilla Girl cube top had dried a little so was topped up with 2ml plain water but I could see she'd already germinated within 24 hrs and her swan neck was showing in the hole. While I was waiting on them germinating I gave my tent a good clean with a mild bleach solution, ready for when the girls go in there. 2nd Jan. I cleaned their 1L starter pots with mild bleach solution and rinsed, then mixed some coco with 20% perlite and filled the pots. Gave them a good soaking of feed before putting in the tent to warm up. First feed. Magnifical to 0.6 2ml/L Root stim 0.6 Equal parts of Micro and Grow to 0.7 EC 0.7 PH'd to 6.4 3rd Jan. All had broken the surface within 72hrs so they were potted up to the pre warmed 1L pots with a sprinkle of MycorrMax added to the holes. 4th Jan, day 1. They'd all stood up by the 4th so I'll call that day 1. Conditions in the cab were 23C, pot temps 22C and RH 43%. Gorilla Girl. Sweet Amnesia Haze. Tropicanna Poison F1 FV. That's all for now good people. Happy New Year and best of luck to all in the comp, I'll try and catch up with your diaries when I can make the time. Happy growing, be lucky
  2. Welcome to my little corner of the world, not too far from Heathrow airport. I have been growing in my shed the last couple of years, ideally I would have moved to a new location and setup a fresh shed, alas not due to Covid-19. My move was cancelled the same week locked in the UK occurred, just felt the most sensible course of action due to all that was going on. Maybe I will move mid grow, we will see, it will all be fun either way - I am a master at turning lemons into lemonade, we have no choice but to right? Anyways, I digress. Lets get this show on the road! My shed is currently full of Sweet Seeds ladies. I never stopped growing Sweet Seeds stuff, continually providing all I could wish for and a little more on top I am growing in Biobizz All Mix & Plagron Batmix soil 50/50. A major change of nutrients, I have move away from BioBizz and this is my first grow with Intense Nutrients Organix range. @Intense Nutrients Matt My lighting is: The sun & a 1000w bulb running at 660w. I did have two on the go but it gets too hot so this is a bit of a smaller grow using just one light - I will sort this for the next grow as it will be winter and I should be able to get away with it. Gorilla Girl, Psicodelicia and Cream Caramel - All 34 days since flip. I am very much looking forwards to them completing as currently I have smoked all I have.......working from home has meant I have been able to enjoy being constantly stoned and as a result I have burned though all I have. Am very much looking forwards to 6 or 7 weeks from now when I have my first smoke again SO, pictures.......Here we go....... The seeds were started on 12th July: They opened fast, 2 days and ready to drop in the pots: Where possible, I like to make use of the sun. It kicks ass. Lights rock and all, but the sun owns all. So I had the pots going in the sun whenever possible and then under the light in the shed during the evenings, these are 35 days before flip: Here they are 25 days before flip: Finally ten days before flip: From this point onwards the lighting has been changed to 12hr on and 12h off. Flipped. They stay in the shed now. Lights on at 9pm, lights off at 9am. Here we go, 6 days after flip, they all shot up, the Gorilla Girls most of all on the left side: 9 Days after flip: And then a big leap forwards in time to now, this is due to I was unaware of a competition starting, just getting on with life n all that! Here we go, 34 days after flip, today: And another from a different angle. Next week I shall pull out my camera and give it a dust off rather than using my mobile phone camera, a Samsung S10: There we have it, up to date, a bit of a rush and not exactly competition winning stuff, but its not about the winning, its about the taking part and learning new things along the way. Until next week I wish you all the best, keep safe, look after those close to you, be kind to everyone else, and if in doubt of something - Ask, don't go into a frenzy Insp.

  4. Hello sweet seeds and uk420. It's been a fair while since I have posted on the forum and I haven't been very active growing either. Recently I decided to start growing again with a scaled down set up. I now have a small 60x60x160cm tent and a 250w HID. I was using a 150w quantum board LED from diyleduk, but it's getting cold in my loft and it worked out cheaper to heat the tent with a more powerful light other than using supplemental heating along side the LED. Currently I have 2 gorilla girl auto plants which are around 3.5 weeks into full flower and looking ok. They're only small-ish but the buds are looking nice and smelling even better. They're not really too far off of being done (one is gonna be another week, maybe 2, and the other will be around 3 weeks) so I have just planted 2 sweet gelato autos today in the hopes of getting a 2 plant perpetual grow going. I do not have any photos right now, I more made this thread now to make sure I get some photos and get it going later. I really look forward to getting involved with the forum and hopefully some old friends again. I'll post again later with some photos. Cheers.
  5. Here we go again. I would like to thank Sweet Seeds for letting me sample some of their Gorilla Girl. 2 strains ive heard a bit about , Gorilla Glue and Girl Scout Cookies , so I fancy a look of course. I wanna see what all these usa strains are about. Here is the Blurb on em . Gorilla Girl® (SWS74) is a strain with a very powerful effect, featuring very high THC levels that can reach to between 20% and 25% in optimum growing conditions. Data Sheet Variety SWS74Indica: 40% / Sativa: 60%THC: 19-25% · CBD: 0,1%Indoor Yield: 400-550 g/m2Outdoor Yield: 350-600 g/plantIndoor Blooming: 9 weeksOutdoor Harvest: late September I'm currently running from sweet seeds, Black Jack , Cream 47 , Green Poison and Mohan Ram. Their genetics are extremely good and every plants a winner so far. So I popped three of them in the hope of whittling them down to one winner. A 24 hour soak and they went into the coco. You see in the background are 3 Sweet Amnesia Haze they were good enough to chuck in as a freeby so I germed them as well. Both went in together and 4 were up in 48 hours . The gorilla Girls not yet. Here is where they are living until they show themselves. Just in front of a vertical 400hps. We have some movement at last. The left one died at this stage as it couldn't free its leaves and 1 never showed and one had a similar problem getting from its shell. Here is the one that made it and today she is 2 weeks old exactly. She is already showing vigour and strength and a rather fat stem for her age. She is also growing at a fair rate for a seedling. This is the room she will live and probably die in if she can veg quick enough. Just like the 2 plants I will be vegging 9 plants of different strains around a 40w hps vertical bulb like so. They will grow big and encompass the bulb , creating a doughnut of weed. They will be fed from a 100l water butt inside the room via that white plastic pipe and their will be 3 plants down the left , three on the back wall , and 3 on the left. I intend to be flowering this room when my other flowering has finished in 4 or so weeks but I have to use the 9 biggest plants . I'm hoping this Gorilla Girl will be big enough to make the cut . Or she may go into my other room that is slightly bigger than this one and be be vegged for a good couple of months , to a tree size (for me anyway). Time will tell as I really don't want to flower her if she isn't ready or big enough . So far I'm positive because she has healthy power grower written all over her. More in a week From Gorilla Girl zz

  7. Hi and welcome to another year of Sweet Seeds fun in my little corner of the world near London. I have been growing in a 10x8 shed at the far end of the garden. The back 1/3rd of the shed is partitoned off and insulated with 10mm foam and double bubble metallic insulation foil - All staple gunned to the shed walling. There is an 8" acoustic box using phonic ducting to extract the air from the partitioned grow area into the rest of the shed - Not directly outside, the shed door is lame with a 1/2cm gap all the way around it and this has served well in ensuring decent fresh air exchange without the loss of all that lovely warm air which keeps the grow area a lush 25-32 depending on what power I set the lights or extraction to. There is an 8" passive intake hole within the shed to the grow area. With the lights I have two ballasts with simple reflectors, 275w-660w and a 400w-1100w but I have been and shall continue to run them at 400w each for the veg cycle. The bulbs are Sylvania blue for veg and first two weeks of flower then its on to using the Sylvania dual spectrum bulbs. I shall be sticking with the BioBizz stuff with the addition of Plagron Batmix for the final pot up. i have been using the following: Rootjuice, Grow, Fishmix, Bloom, TopMax, Alg A Mic. Well I think that's the main points of the setup, now to let you know they just went in to 12/12 I took some clones from the last grow I did which was associated with last years Sweet Seeds Grow Competition and so I have 4 Green Poison and 5 Sweet Cheese. Here they are from back on November 3rd all pushing roots and ready to pot: Sweet Cheese at the top, Green Poison beneath. And here they are in their first pots in my little 40x40x180cm tent which I also have within the shed - This has a 125w CFL, no fans, no real intake or outake. I dumped one of the Green Poison, you can see which one above didn't get potted I'm sure Fast forwards two weeks of them being in this tent here they are: I needed to keep them in this tent as long as possible due to my grow area being full of their parents and more. I also had Gorilla Girl in there and now kick myself for not having taken clones from this also considering how awesome a smoke it is - I have been smoking it this past two weeks and its brilliant! Sweet Cheese and Green Poison are lovely smokes also but I just found a preference for Gorilla Girl... Fast forwards some more to 14th December, they have been repotted into BioBizz All mix (I only add plagron batmix when going into the final 11 litre pots) and they are now in the main grow area: Along the way I have been topping them, lots. All the lower growing tips removed as early as possible, really only allowing the best branches to grow and keeping things all tights on height. 24 hours lights on! Moving on to some time later in December things are taking off: And then bringing us to today where I have just set the lights to 12/12: Green Poison 4 are on the left, the other 5 are Sweet Cheese. I will take the time to put up a few shots without the red ambience from the bulbs, plus some bud shots from their mothers since I have a couple of bags full Until then sweet smokes, I shall mostly be smoking Gorilla Girl and waiting on my competition seeds which are Gorilla Girl, Sweet Amnezia Haze & Sweet Pure CBD - This one I will be doing for my two friends in need. Insp
  8. So here we go again ladies and gentlemen, the 6th sweet seeds competition. first a big thanks to the SS crew for giving me the sees of choice and for running this great and generous comp again here on the mighty UK420 I have wetted 2 of each of the Gorilla Girl, Black Jack and the Do Sweet Do and they are now sat in a mini unheated prop on a heat mat in my nursery/veg room with the probe in the compost of one so they have full control of the temps for a speedy germination, none of this paper towel malarkey! they will be vegged under a 315w cmh for as long at least 6 weeks, preferably longer but we will see how things go in the flower room. they are in gold label special mix and i will be adding dolomite lime in the potting up to combat my soft water here. well that's all for today, if you want to give up now i don't blame you, this comp is already in the bag
  9. It's that time of year again. Welcome to my Sweet Seeds diary! What a great pleasure it is to enter this comp once again! I do have a bit of a head start, as i started 6 photoperiod Sweet Seeds about a month ago, without knowing if the contest would take place. Unfortunately, most of the veg will be missing on the photoperiod as I will switch to flowering in the next couple of days. BUT I have ordered some of the new automatic seeds and will be starting them in about a month time in a seperate space. On the positive note, there will be buds appearing very soon in this diary. I will also be testing LED lighting and hope to document the progress with the autos in the seperate space (Bonanza). I'm looking to convert completely to LEDs if it goes well. In other words, this might be my last diary using HPS lighting (w. Photoperiods). Current Setups: 1.2m Homebox / veg: 400wMH / flower: 600w HPS dual spec / 125 PK extract / passiv intake. (Photoperiods) Bonanza (115x70x160) / new LED (tbd) ~300w / 125 SP extract / passiv intake. (Automatics) Nutrients and Compost: Intense Nutrients: Dirt Plagron: Light mix, Growmix, Batmix Photoperiod Strains: 2x Psicodelicia 2x Gorilla Girl 2x Do-Sweet-Dos Automatic Strains: 4x Sweet Gelato Auto 2x Sweet Cheese Auto XXL 2x Jack 47 Auto XXL (pictures soon) I wish all of the contestant a wonderful time and as always, big thanks to the generous Sweet Seeds company and their team for hosting this great comp and making all this fun possible! Let the games begin!

  20. So here it is, I finally get to write up my own attempt after looking at everyone else's stunning examples. GreenVision's "6th Sweet Seeds Grow Diary Competition"..... Diary. For my grow I chose: Do-Sweet-Dos This is a 65% to 35% Indica / Sativa strain containing Girl Scout Cookies, Face Off OG and an unknown strain. Crystal Candy. A 60% to 40% Indica / Sativa strain created by Sweet Seeds. Gorilla Girl. This one is a 40% to 60% Indica / Sativa strain made by crossing Gorilla Glue and Girl Scout Cookies. I've germinated all 4 seeds of each strain kindly provided by Sweet Seeds making the total 12 seeds. They were first soaked in a mix of light seaweed extract for 12 hours... Once the seeds had sat at around 23C in a very light seaweed mix they were placed into Kitchen Towel to help them along. They were then placed into my small propagator tray. Which was then wrapped in cling film. And marked with the traditional Sweet Seeds Sticker! A small amount of water was misted into the prop tray before the cling film was completely sealed shut. I use cling film at this stage of germination to help aid RH inside the prop. I feel the lids is too high as well as having the vents. As a result you usually need to open the Kitchen Towel once or twice and re-soak it, meaning the seeds and any tap roots are subjected to stress due to sudden temp changes. The cling film allows me to just leave the seeds alone for 72 hours.... Once sealed shut the tray was placed into the tent and the environment was kept at a steady 24C. After 3 days the cling film was removed and the seedlings were ready to touch some soil. All 12 seedlings had opened up fine and were a picture of health. Onto the first pots. I used small 4.5cm pots to get them started. Plant Magic Plus soil. And a small 1ml / litre of Plant Magic Grow feed to keep them happy for the next few days. The pots were labelled up as I went along. Then placed under a 4 tube T5 light where they will stay for 3-5 days. The environment has been sitting at a comfy 25C for 3 days under the T5 now. After 3 days in the soil I have 11 out of the 12 up and reaching for the light. Just waiting on one Do-Sweet-Dos to show. Absolutely everything I can see at this moment in time is doing really well, nice and healthy all round. I will be continuing the next 48 hours under the T5 and then switching over to the 315w CMH. I would like to thank @Sweet Seeds Apolo @Sweet Seeds -Jaypp @Sweet Seeds-tommy and the Sweet Seeds team not only for sending me though these seeds to try but also for organising this competition. A huge thanks guys, well done. And last but certainly not least...... GreenVision's first ever Video! I know most of the folks taking part this year are well ahead of me, so I wish everyone the best of luck with your bloom phase over the next few months. Thanks for reading through. And as always, take it easy all! GV.
