  1. Air-Pots and coco coir ready to fill

From the album Grow no. 3

  2. Hi guys, Firstly glad to join your community , thanks for having me I've heard good things. I have just started my first grow and thought I'd start a thread to share my experience. . . . and maybe ask for some guidance if that's ok? My setup is a 1.2mx1.2m and 2m tall budbox, RVK Extractor with PK Carbon filter (filter not attatched yet) .At the moment just a desk top fan pumping air into a bottom vent flap ( room well ventilated) I have an adjustable digital ballast with a 600w dual spectrum bulb for both veg and flower. I am growing in a 70/30 Coco/perlite mix, with Vitalink Coir Max nutrients. A RAM air humidifier with Therm and hygrometer. currently at 25°c in day and 19°c at night , lights on 18/6 with RH at around 65%. I will be managing PH levels , if I need to start taking a PPM count I will, but hoping to just have good control over my climate and nutrients and read my plant well to spot deficiancies and toxicities. I have already planted 2 kush seeds from a smoke I had a while back, just to play around (I'll be keeping an eye as I have zero idea if they are male or female). I have also just germinated and sprouted successfully 1 Cherry Bomb and 1 Atomic Bomb from bombseeds, both feminized. These were planted roughly 10 days apart, I'm hoping to spot any signs of the Kush being male before it becomes a problem , ( a few weeks away I know but any advice on that appreciated). I have not yet fed anything other than 1Ml/l of Plant start and a very small (1ml/l) dosage of root stim. I will slowly up this and introduce 2 part nutrients after first transplant. Curious as the what level a freshly sprouted seedling can handle under HPS. I have it on an adjustable ballast, 250 , 400, 600 and 650. I have the light currently held at about 140 cm or 55 inches. Seedlings can tend to reach for the light if they are not receiving enough. Shall I leave my light at 250W or move up to 400? Thanks! JPC420 I will post photos when I find out how to looool
  3. ph

Ok, the new problem... My PH is a bit low for my feed. So that is going to be adjusted. However, for those who asked in a previous thread what the PH and EC were, well I splashed out and bought myself a crissy prezzie of an EC and PH meter, they arrived today. I have tried el-cheap-o route, splashed out on a couple of middle of the range meters that were about the £35 mark each. Normally about £99 the pair, got then on deal via a trader that I have used several times for substantial purchases and got them both for £69.99. So these are not your £20 grow shop cheap as chips, ok for a grow meters. The PH meter was easy to set up, there is an option to set the alternative end standards of 4.0 and 10.0 on the PH scale, I just went with the Neutral PH 7 standard for now. The EC meter was pretty much same sort of deal, I happened to have bought, quite by accident a month or so back, EC28 buffer... Single button push calibration... Couldn't ask for more. OK now, those people asking what my water EC and PH is. This is a current state that IS GOING TO BE CORRECTED. Feed mix... PH 4.3 EC 1.3 Separate Water (for all uses, including adding more water to the pot when dry between feeds) PH 4.8 (Originally I set the PH to 7 for a baseline, was aiming for PH5 when PH was too high) EC 1.0 The water I used to water and other things like spraying was aimed at being PH 5 as I needed to drop the PH of the water in the pot as it was a bit high, the test paper system I used was pretty good guide and PH had risen to above 7. So now I can make the required changes to the current feed mix, readjust the water back to PH of 7.
  4. I have tried to trouble shoot, even taken the drastic action of investigating whats going on. I have tried various things to resolve the problems I have had. 1st, leaves were turning up at the tips and some were drooping, so I held off on watering, after about 5 days of it perking up and the pot feeling like it was empty, I watered it with a small amount of feed as prescribed, included some Rhizo as it may be a root problem. Keep in mind I been round that block twice after resolving what the issue might be, the plant responded. So after I had decided to help air I increased the perlite mix ratio and returned what was removed and the plant perked right up. So I kept air going 24/7 A couple of days later, watered again with CalMag + Rhizo nutrients and feed. This was 1 Litre mix of water in to a 10L pot. SO I didn't dump all the water in one area, I spread it about so that it would seep down. quickly in the higher mix medium. It perked right up and then progressively over 8 hours, some leaves were still turning at the tip. I had investigated once more and found that the likley source of the problem and found that the roots were in a clump of something that seemed to resemble compost that has compacted, so I gently brok it up and this seems to be the main issue with the water logging. The leaf tips are still turning brown but not curling. One has spots of brown on it, is this a nutrient problem? I have added Cal Mag and Rhizo to the water / feed, what now? Any ideas? To give an idea of its current growth rate, Its pushing out its 3rd set of 5 fingers It had pushed out 3 sets of 3 fingers prior to that The lowest leaves have already been removed to prevent any rotting or fungal growth. A friend who started a few weeks earlier with the same seeds, his are like need taming. He has already had one agressive cut back on the lower leaves because they are not getting light, interfering with air so he pruned them and his are putting out 9 fingers. My environment has adequate air circulation, is kept at around 20 degrees at night, the grow space is around 24 to 25 degrees when lights on. Humidity varies from 50% to 70%, depending on watering. All excess that drains through is collected and removed from the space to prevent stale air conditions, it gets fresh air from the environment so its around room temperature. Your ideas on next steps, I have laid off water and feed for a few days now.
  5. Hey guys! I'm running a little grow, my first one actualy. My set up is a 90x90 cm tent 600w LED (Viparspectra, actual power 269w) My seeding are on about day 7 and look like this, but two of them have had thees brown dots show up on there second set of leaves... :/ Has anybody seen this before??? Could it be light burn? My light is at 36 inches high so i dont think so. Nute burn ive read that it affects the tips first not random dots I should also mention this is an autoflower. And im feeding with 1/3 strength of recommended nutes of a light feeding schedule. Please Help. Regards Charliezard.
