  1. Hi all I was wondering if anyone could lend a hand to a beginner? I've got a setup going listed below and would appreciate it if someone could maybe point out any flaws in it before I commit? This would be only for my use and a small 2-3 autoflower setup Tent: 80 x 80 x 160cm Light: TS600 Full Spectrum LED 85w Mars Hydro 4 inch extraction kit with a filter Growing in something along the lines of Canna soil in 20L pots and other bits and bobs like a hydrometer etc Would you say its a good setup? I'm most worried about the light might look into a 150W version of the same brand but 85 is what an experienced buddy of mine recommended for that size of tent Any input would be much appreciated! Cheers
  2. Hi guy So after installing the new ladders to the loft I have drawn up a diagram of an insulated lung room for the attic. Unfortunately because of the loft truss beams I can only fit a 140cm tall hydo tent. Is there a good reliable auto flower that I could grow that does not grow tall as the tent is 120cm/3.9ft. I have read a few dairies and some seed companies can be better than others so any advice welcome. Cheers.
  3. Hello there, First time poster, Beginner grower, (July 21) About to wrap up 3rd grow. Auto's in soil, 16 lt pots. All three grows used Biobizz nutes and i'm pretty happy with results. Nute's about to run out so for next grow considering trying a different brand. Any advice/suggestions? Also any thoughts on lower cost alternatives e.g. house plant/vegatable feeds with correct npk ratios, As they seem much cheaper than specific weed nutes, but the ones i've looked at don't seem to have the right npk's. Cheers.
  4. Hi Once I get my head round uploading pics to here I'll share what's going on in my cheap greenhouses! I've spent less than £30 on them and less than £40-50 on seeds, soil, fertiliser and pots. In fact the bulk of the cost is pots! I have two auto's and 3 fem in right now, 3 more fem's germing and another 5 waiting to germ once this other 3 have gone into soil. Theres nothing fancy about this at all, just my first go and me muddling through it! It's so interesting reading everyone's journals and seeing the differences and problems people come up against. Excited to see this journal through!
  5. Hi all, I'm a first time grower. Planted an autoflowering seed in June, and it started to flower around 4/5 weeks ago. Development has been slow. I'm worried the heat has caused flowers to 'popcorn'. Trichomes looks white & pistils are brown but not much growth in terms of cola formation. Not sure whether I could cut my losses, harvest now and make do with what I've got/use it for hash, or wait it out & see if the colas form bigger buds. Any expert eyes would be greatly appreciated! Peace
  6. Hello UK420 i have a small 60x60x140 and I need some guidance on what to do next. Currently I have a fantronix 187m3 (I think) and a ram filter 170m3 (yes I can see the mistake I’ve made). Last grow was hard due to heatwaves. I was over my limit for the whole grow really and needed supplemental cooling and odour control to reach the finish line. I’m looking at solutions that won’t break the bank and that follows the advice on here on being a smart buy rather than the stupid buy that I did in hast. I don’t know truly what amount of air I should be moving (I just don’t trust my calculations and I already got it wrong). I’m looking at a rhino pro kit at 5 inches. I’m hoping this will cover my needs and not run on 100% speed for most of the grow just to maintain a minimum extraction. max budget is 100-150 tops. Noise is a concern but temps and smell is more important. Sound is secondary to these other factors. Plus I can make a box for it if needed. Would anyone be able to advise me? I know I need a better fan and filter. I just need a nudge in the right direction! I really don’t trust myself to buy smart right now after the mistake I’ve already made.
  7. I originally joined UK420 back in 2006, I think. Still living at home and struggling to grow outdoors. A lot has changed since then but a reassuring constant has been my love for cannabis. Anyway, what better time to start an indoor grow than during an international pandemic? No one comes near you. Packages left at the door. No contact with outsiders, no family or friends coming round. So that being said I have decided to convert a small cupboard space. Ordered some basic items and more importantly, ordered a mix of auto-flower strains. It's so affordable to buy seeds these days! Single seeds, feminised, auto-flowering! Amazing. I have (all feminised): Sour Diesel Auto x 1 White Widow Auto x 1 Bubblegum Auto x 1 Sweety Automatic (aka Sweet Tooth Auto) x 3 Added for free - Super Lemon Haze and Dr Widow With my limited space, I think I'll start with the 3 Sweet Tooth. I'll be using soil and growing under LED. I think the 75W won't be powerful enough after doing some research on here...I'm open to replacing it for a higher-powered version 300/350W equivalent. Unfortunately, the 75W is due to arrive today. I'll upload some images shortly of my grow space Here goes nothing!
  8. Hi this is my first post I'm new to the game, like most people I'm sick of spending bare dollar so decided I want to grow my own stuff I want to jump straight into growing autos hydroponically with the DWC method as it seems to be more beginner friendly, however it does appear to cost slightly more but I'm sure it's worth the initial investment! Things intend to purchase: (please advise me if I could change something to make it better) - x2 Pre made DWC buckets with air pumps + stones from eBay. - x1 spare bucket (for regular cleaning) - FloraMicro/Grow/Bloom all 1L bottles. - VIPARSPECTRA Full Spectrum 300W - Grow tent - Air fan - Canna AQUA Clay pebbles for growing medium - x2 rockwool cubes - PH / PPM tester - Water temp tester - x2 Auto seeds I get how the system all works... what gets me with DWCs is the nutrients, I think I'm kind of understanding however I have a few questions if anybody knows some may be daft but we all start somewhere gimme chance 1) Do you put nutrients in the water once you've put your seedling into the rockwool and into the clay pebbles? If so how much is recommended for an auto plant? 2) When water levels drop should I fill it with just tap water and add nutrients every few days or when I clean the buckets every 10 days? Or should I fill it with both water and nutrients and keep in the PH range of 5.5 - 6.5 I'm aiming for a constant 5.8 as I believe this is a perfect ph for hydros? 3) How regularly should you put nutrients into the water? 4) Should I use an automatic water heater? Or would this cause more harm than good? The temp should be between 15 and 20 degrees celsius right? 5) How would I know when to turn the lights to 12/12? 6) Recommendations for 2 auto seeds with my 300w LED preferably two different types? A 50/50 mix ideally a social high not one to knock me out 7) Finally what size grow tent for two autos on 300w LED? I wasn't too sure where to put this so if it's in the wrong section I apologise I went completely off nutrients and onto other shit, I'm pretty baked haha Cheers
  9. Hi Guys, first post in a while. I smoked for years but just wanting to dabble in growing as for the first time I own property with some outside space and current lockdown restrictions are making if difficult to get any where I live at the minute. so where I’m at is I have a west facing balcony with a 2 small greenhouse in which I already start veg plants for my allotment and grow tomatoes. (60cm wide 30 deep and 120 tall each, Room for 1 more if needed) And iv ordered 5 auto flower northern lights seeds, open to trying 1 or 2 now and saving the rest or using them all.. so my question, what to do now. Looking for advice on germinating, soil/coco, feeding and drying. As I said it’s my first time and it’s outdoors, I’m not looking to invest masses of cash into it until iv got a bit of experience so just wanted the essentials il need to produce half decent smokable buds. thank you for any advice it’s much appreciated as I really am clueless at the minute, my seeds arrive in 3 working days
  10. Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and someone gave me a clone plant to grow from very early stages. It's in Veg stage and I need to wait on my new light arriving on the 29th. (Fuck amazon and coronavirus) I need help on which leaves and bits are teh right ones to cut away for the lollipopping stage as I am told. Youtube confuses me so much that I have no idea what these crazy yanks are saying. I am wondering how I can attach photos to let you know how it's doing. I have cut off some obvious lower leaves n bits etc but 1 small leaf has holes and wear n tear in it. My plant has no bugs at all but today I found a tiny fuckin spider web on it. A part was open on the tent which is now closed (air duct area that wasn't in use) The web was so tiny but I am angry and stressed because the people who were helping me are ignoring me now. I really need help as I am super beginner and only doing this because I am in agonizing pain everyday of my life. I would really appreciate the help as I am super new, scared to death of fucking it all up as I cannot afford to mess it up. Plus buying it is to expensive. Any help is super appreciated please.
  11. Total beginner here, when germinating my seed does it need light? or only when the sprouts start to show? also are there any comprehensive start to finish beginner guides here for growing outside UK?
  12. Hello everyone I'm going to start by saying that this is my first post here and hopefully I'm in the right category for the questions and that I don't go on for too long So I've been considering growing indoors for about a month now and I think I've got everything sorted out in terms of things to buy, the process and so on. Although lately I went down the rabbit hole of the internet for answers about the smell that it produces and ways to counter it. Let's just put it this way, the answers were unclear and the times I've posted this question was met by people basically telling me everything but the answer to my question. (Why I'm maybe overthinking it) In my current situation and probably for the future to come I'm living in a shared house meaning that what I envisioned for this project would be growing it in my room, I have a decent size room and a grow tent 60x60x140 would fit nice into one of my corners and not take any real space from me, near a window so the exhaust air can flow out. Now obviously stealth is of the most important because I wouldn't want my housemates to find out, so the question of smell comes up. From what I could gather some people say a outflow fan with a filter will make it smell proof, other people on the other hand say no that it will never work to keep the smell only in one room. So here I am, some things that may help is that the fireproof door in my room actually does a good job of not letting light scents get out into the hallway. If I open the window in my room it looks like it creates an airflow that brings air from the hallway and exits the window. Is it possible to do? What do you guys recommend? Best quality filter for effectiveness? I'm lost due to this. ((Take in mind I do not want to grow 5 plants at once just one at a time for personal use)) TL:DR Does a grow tent fan+filter set up eliminate the smell enough to be manageable in one room where the smell cannot get out due to reasons. If not is there a way? + Hows the fans in terms of noise (if I'm to sleep in the same room as the grow tent) Thanks in advance and sorry if there is some type of typo or wording mistake as English is not my first language, all the feedback is greatly appreciated hopefully I'll be growing by the end of the month!!
  13. Hi guys, so im doing some fastbuds auto flowers and everything seemed to be running completely fine. I did a foliar spray with 1ltr warm water to 2ml neem oil 1 teaspoon of dish soap. stupidly enough i did the spray whilst the lights was still on without thinking about the leafs maybe dehydrating or burning under the lights. The following next morning i came back to my girls looking like they're on deaths door. can anyone clarify what i did here.. whether i burnt them or its a deficiency which im not picking up as a first time grower. Im running, just normal compost soil with a 400w hps light, biobizz grom and bloom. 60/40 soil to perlite. I thought maybe over watering as my leafs are really drooping. just any advice would be lovely! they've been like this for about 2-3 days now. they've carried on growing in height but doesnt look like the leafs are repairing also struggling to upload my photos -.-
  14. Hello everyone, I've lurked here for a while, joined a couple of months ago, lurked some more before posting now. As a first time grower, I did my research but still ended up making the odd mistake, though nothing major as I have a low-expectations attitude about the maiden voyage. I feel on the verge of a potential major mistake by completely failing to identify when I should be harvesting. This is a case of a) being aware of the beginner error of seeing buds, getting excited and pulling b) reading information about pistils which suggests the majority of them turning to colour/curling in is an indicator it's ready, c) only recently getting a loupe and not really having a point of comparison for determining if the trichomes have gone cloudy or still appear clear (it might be pretty stupid that I struggle to differentiate regardless) and d) being just 56 days in on a strain which seems to average about a 70 days grow. It is a Fastbuds Mexican Airlines auto, in case that matters, 45cm tall and grown under a Mars hydro reflector 480 positioned 30cm above on a 19/5 on-off cycle. Here are some pictures. If you can let me know what you think, I'd be grateful. The last 4 waterings (1 every 3 days) have been plain water. Owed more to too many nutrients in earlier weeks than starting a pre-harvest flush. Hopefully I've got all relevant information here.

  16. Hi guys welcome to my Average Joe Grow I'm running 5 autoflowers this garden. 3x CDB industrial plant - Dinafem 1x Gorilla Glue - Fastbuds 1x OG Kush - Mr Krippling Equipment 26w CFL 600w dual spectrum bulb Digital ballast Floor fan Small clip fan Fan and Filter (when I get paid next week lol) 7.5litre Smart pots RO filter for water (produces 50GallonPerDay) Bio-Bizz All mix soil Nutrients So guys I have a spare cupboard with some good height so I thought it would be a nice place for a couple plants. You can see from the list I have a pretty basic setup, and instead of a tent (and save some money) I've stapled black and white sheet around the room. Germination I popped all seeds in straight RO water for 36 hours and all seeds cracked and tap roots were just poking out so I moved them into damp kitchen roll and placed in plastic food bags in the dark for another 24 hours. The next day all tap roots were visible so I got them planted into 16oz American Red Party Cups and moved them under the CFL, for the first couple of days I'll keep the light on 24 hour. I kept food bags over each individual cup to keep it humid, also I put them on top of a heat mat set to keep the soil at 26 degrees Celsius Veg Day 1. Another 24 hours has passed and the all the girls are reaching for the light. Some seed shells were stuck on the first set of leaves so I carefully removed them, everything looks fine nothing more to be done. Day 2. The girls are looking healthy and should have some roots by now so time to remove the food bags from over the cups. Ill leave them on the heat mat still to keep the soil temp up. it's a little cold in the cupboard so I plan on keeping them on the heat mat untill I move then to there final pots and get the big light on them (no later than 10 days) The soil is still damp so no need to water, nothing more to be done today, I'll try and get some photos up once I learn how lol.
  17. Hi guys thanks for your help in advance! 1. Strain Suggestion: I have 1 Easy Kush plus 1 Northern Lights and I'm looking to another couple of strains, mainly indica (the most indica the better), not tall (grow room is 160cm tall), suitable for a beginner. Any suggestion? Related Important Question: Different strains have different vegetation and flowering times -- how can I manage 4 different strains with different vegetation and flowering times in the same grow tent? Maybe I should try to couple strains with similar V and F times? 2. I have 2 x 40cm wide (35liters) pots = can I put 2 seeds (2 different strains) per pot? 3. Why the seed needs to be placed in a small pot once germinated and cant go instead in the larger final pot after the wet paper ? I have purchased some rooter starter compost cubes? How do I use them? Do I still need to put the seeds in the wet paper first? i know these things have been said many times and I'm sorry but I have a learning difficulty and I struggle to retrieve and organise the information especially when ithere is a lot. Thanks for your understanding:-) Many thanks for your help! Quote

  21. hello! I thought i would come and join in on in the action over here, if u'll have me! This will be my auto diary will have a few things going on but for now: INDOORS - on the left- royal cheese auto (RQS) ... on the right Buddha seeds random auto THE MEDIUM ive just potted these up into a little no-till soil mix consisting of: kelp, neem, compost, frass, gypsum, lava rock, rice husk, coco, biochar, peat moss, coco coir, garden soil & barley straw on top... This is my first attempt at no-till so wish me luck! THE LIGHT these two have so far been under 24hr light of blurple LED (an ancient 125W unit) ... it recently occured to me that i give them some dark time :0 !! so i will be starting a 16/8 light cycle with a new more powerful LED light tonight THE SPACE They will be now going in to a new empty 1.2m² tent and will have the whole place to themselves!!! VENTILATION I've been stalling/slacking here, and am hoping for some help! I have no ventilation whatsoever :0 I would love some advice on to how to best ventilate my space / keep it cool / fresh air / oscillating fans ... without using loads of plug sockets / breaking the bank Enjoy the bank holiday every1!
  22. Hi everyone, this is going to be my first time grow. I've got pretty much everything planned but I'm a bit torn between whether or not I should plant my auto seeds straight into the final location (outdoors in the ground) after germination or plant them in pots first before transferring once they've grown for a while. The reason I ask this is because I've read in multiple places that auto strains don't take well to be transferred pots, and it can do more harm than good in comparison to just planting into the ground directly. Any advice from personal experience/things you've read would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Hi I've searched the forums and wider and can't get a good answer on this beyond the spec sheets of the product itself. I wondered if anyone had any experience they could share. Would the budmaster II XG-2 LED be suitable for a single plant in a DR60 sized(ish) tent? It's spec sheet shows a coverage area of 40x80. I'm interested as to whether penetration is likely to be sufficient for a plant's full lifecycle. I'm an absolute beginner and, to be honest, would probably have gone with a cheaper panel with higher wattage (such as a Mars Hydro II 400), but they seem to be difficult to find offline and I'm not very comfortable purchasing with a credit card. So it looks as though a budmaster is one of the only models readily available if I want to pick up in person from a shopfront. Which means I don't really want to invest in anything much more expensive that the BM XG-2 until I know that I enjoy this new project and am any good at it. Specs are as follows: LED's: 50 x Epiled 3w Led'sCoverage: 40 x 80cmEnergy Used: 90wInput Voltage: 100 - 240vFrequency: 50 - 60 hzCurrent: 600maVoltage: 70vAmps: 0.36 Amps I would be grateful for any advice on whether this model is likely to do the trick?
  24. 25. Hello everyone, Great to be part of this community! Okay so i'm almost ready to start and have the following gear: Advanced Platinum P150 LED Light Black Orchid 1.2x.1.2x2.0 grow tent Extractor fan with carbon filter 8 OG Kush seeds I guess firstly, will my gear do the job? I'm not 100% sure on what soil i need, i was going to go for Plant Magic plus Not too sure about nutrients as well Could someone please recommend a soil and nutrient mix, and maybe give me a few pointers on what to do from here? or links to a forum thread would be good also, i dont want to leave anything to chance and am keen to know exactly what i'm doing I know i have to germinate the seeds so i'm currently researching the best ways to do that, do you need to use a propagator? Any help appreciated Thanks
