Hello everyone, thanks for approving me! <3 I was searching as a guest last night for answers, but i was unsuccesful.. If a thread with this question already exists, PLEASE point me to it so i can educate myself. I also tried to ask a few questions on the Growdiaries site, but that limits you to 280 Characters and that is not even remotely enough to explain the (ill call it mini problem) im having. I am 9 weeks into my very first grow. After some extensive research on ADHD, I chose one of the exotics, a landrace heirloom sativa, Dr. Grinspoon as the one i want to grow, thinking the end result will help my other half to be motivated and productive during the day. (But thats not the question.) Following all Advanced Nutrients calculators online and guide sites specifically made for Advanced nutrients and growing in coco. The recommended amounts per litre are somewhat reasonable when you look at them, i mean its only reasonable to have 4ml A&B per litre of water during late flower right? Well my TDS pen says otherwise. From what ive gathered, Early seedlings like to be at a range of 300-500EC Early and mid veg it likes to be at a range of 1.1-1.5 and early and late bloom it likes to sit at 1.7-2 (average numbers ive gathered over many different sites and forums) That is understandable and easy to follow. The problem comes here: Even though i am on week 9, because of some complications dring early seedling phase, my Dr.G didnt develop very fast, so i am currently using nute strength for week 3 of veg. The recommended amount of nutes at this stage is 3ml(A&B) of sensi grow and 1.5ml of vitamin-B52 per litre. That brings my 1 litre of water all the way up to 2.2 and im not even at full recommended dosage, or not yet using any supplements that ill have to be using during flowering. That panicks me a little and i dont really want to give that to my G as i already stressed it plenty during early veg with transplanting it into a massive pot with poor drainage. What i do is, i add all the recommended amounts, and then i add 250ml of extra bottled water (using still bottled water from the supermarket that reads at 0.18) to bring the EC down to 1.7-1.9 which Doc seems to be okay with. My question is: Is this right? i mean when i add that 250ml extra water to dilute the feed, the recommended measurements stop being per litre and begin being per 1.25 litre. Is that right thing to do? what happens when i reach full recommended strength and it skyrockets the EC all the way up to 3 (and i know it will considering the nubers im having right now). Do i still keep diluting it with more fresh water until i reach the recommended EC? Or do i keep the feed measurements at 1 litre ignoring the EC levels? I already burned the plant when i had the poor drainage situation and the EC rose up to 5 and i had to transplant it to fresh medium so it wouldnt continue dying. Doesnt diluting the feed made with the recommended amounts also lowers the strength, making the feed weaker than what is the recommended? Any Info would be very much appreciated, and again, i was searching all night to find this answer, and its been bothering me for the last few weeks, If an answer or a similar topic exists already and i missed it PLEASE point me to it so i can read and gather info Thanks for reading and sorry if its too long.

Hello fellow smokers. So doing my first outdoor grow. I'm looking for direction so will lay out my plan of attack and any suggestions please HMU. Thanks So soaked my seeds, pre soaked my pellets in Bioysos 1gm to 1ltr water. Seeds went in today in a propogator and is now in under the lights. Was going to leave lid on and closed for 3days. Once germinated and when it starts to fill the peet pellets I have some 10cm pots that I was going to mould with palgoran batmix. This will be watered with Bioysos and voodoo juice. I was thinking of vegging them inside for 3 weeks or so dependent on growth and weather. I will be using micro, grow and bloom, voodoo juice and bud candy also Bioysos when required after seeding. 16ltr fabric smart pots. Watering schedule thinking feed, feed, water, feed, feed, dry, dry?? And follow the advanced nutrients calculator halving for soil?? I have basil sown, marigolds and thyme to go with them outside and am planning no making organic nettle fertiliser for pest control along with copper and club pellets, and chicken wire when needed? How's it all sounding? I will start posting pics etc as they start popping. Please any advice on advanced nutrients and UK pest control etc. I'm growing only 6 plants. Plus one I have inside.

Hi,,, please scroll on through,, all advice welcome! Hi all, newbie still making newbie error's!! Ive been doing abit of reading up on this but yet to find a definitive answer and was hoping some of you on here might be able to help! Im 4 weeks and 4 days from flipping my Original glue ladies in a Wilma, 600hps, running advanced neuts. Temps are good and so is humidity, EC is 1.5. Has been up at 1.6 but ive dropped it down as i found after they finished stretching the ec has been rising after 48hrs or so. The bottoms of my ladies are going very light green,, Nitrogen dif? or somthing more? Something dont look right!?!? A few of the lower leafs have just fallen off when brushed past, the steams seam brittle, and as you can see in the pic there is a massive diference in their colour. This has happend over the last 72hrs or so. Ive had some issues lately with some suspected root rot (last week or two) and so the ladies have been stressed recently with an initial "farmer grade tonic" treatment and full scrub down of the wilma with 12% paroxide and then a full strength treatment with silver bullet the following week. I had been adding the BigBud Advanced neut additive as-well before but have dropped it as i think it was giving me to much calcium, i had some clear like snot in my res and read that this can be caused by hard water (which i have! + a high background ec of 0.3.) and or may have been connected to the rot!?! So here we are, more pics below,, thoughts please?? Do i add some grow neuts in next top up to try and get some more nitrogen in the mix? Thanks in advance... The bo

Easy all.. Fairly new grower here. Started my growing career in February this year and I've got just the one completed grow under my belt. I'll be soon harvesting my second and third crops in the comming weeks. This is thread is going to be my 4th run and my entry to the Dinafem 17/18 Grow Comp.. I'd like to start off by saying a big thanks to @Dinafem-Mark and the Dina gang for the donated seeds. Always appreciated. As you probably guessed by the title, I went for the recently released Remo Chemo and the Purple Afghan Kush. I've always been a big Remo fan... Followed him since he repped Advanced Nutrients back int day, so when I heard about his chemo strain I was really excited! When I finally got round to setting up my first grow, I thought I'd start off old skool remo style and went straight for the A.N bottles. Not sure if the big man would approve of this these days, but oh well...I don't think he'll find out haha!.. It worked well on my first grow and doing the same magic again on my current crops, so I'm gonna stick with it until it's all gone. I'll then switch to the Remo nutes and give them a whirl! I know there will be a few people growing the Remo Chemo in this competition and most of them will be testing out the Remo nutes (lucky lads!), but I'm hoping to be one of the first to run it on here using one of Remo's main competitors and company he repped so hard a few years back. Ok, so on with the grow diary... I'll be using entry level LED grow lights (Viparspectra & MarsHydro), Canna Coco and three small-ish grow spaces (there will be more details on the spaces and environment in future updates). The initial plan was to run 3x Remo Chemo and 3x Purple Afghan Kush... However, due to lack of space and ongoing grows, in order to do that I would have to wait months before I had room and be able to run all 6 in one go..soo, change of plan... I now intend to start this diary off by running just 3 of the 5 Remo Chemo seeds. I will be starting them off under a T5 light along with a couple other clones which I'm running (I won't mention any names ). Once the seedlings are of a reasonable size, they will move into the 90x90 veg space and under the MarsHydro II 400 LED...I'm a fan of a long veg, so they will hopefully get atleast 6 weeks in this space. Before I flip the Remo's into flower, I will take cuts from the plants. They will then be moved into the 1.2x1.2 flower space under two Viparspectra 900s to be finished off. ** SPOILER ALERT ** This is where I hope the diary will get interesting and become unique to the competition.. I plan to document the cloning adventure within this thread and whilst the Remo clones are (hopefully) rooting under the T5, I will start the germination process of the Purple Afghan Kush, also documenting that. The Remo's will start flower maybe 2 weeks sooner due to the longer bloom time, but I've read the P.A.K can take a while to get going in veg so it might work out just sweet anyway! It's just going to be a matter of timing this right! I'll hopefully finish this diary off by harvesting 3x Remo Chemo Clones along side 3 P.A.K seeds! Enough with the rambling...I can't half waffle, here's my starter pics.. They had 12 hours in the shot glass (2 out of the 3 sank to the bottom) then placed in a damp paper towel inside an airtight container. After 24 hours, two seeds had cracked open. One had sprouted its tail and the other looked like it was about to do the same...nothing from the third seed jus yet! I folded them back up and put them back in the tub. 12 hours later, and after being in the damp paper towel for a total of 36 hours, I checked again to see that the two remo's that previously cracked open had now fully sprouted their starter roots! Still nothing from the third bean. I decided that I'd pot the two germinated remo's and leave the other one in the paper towel, checking it every 12 hours. The pair hit the dirt this afternoon and are now sat in a propagator, under the T5, on a 24hr light cycle. Temps in the room are 25.4 degrees at the minute RH is 47% in tent but will be alot higher in the prop. Here's a quick shot of the nursery..remo's in the propagator. You won't see much of my other girls in this thread...this is a one off. So to finish up this post, 2 out of 3 remo seeds fully germinated in just over 36 hours. I'd say at this stage, there's still hope for the third one, so I'm going to hold off on starting the germination process on my final two seeds for now! I'll probably give the seed another day or so before I sink a fourth bean. Today is officially day #1 of seed for RC #1 and RC#2 and I'm confident they will both break through the coco within the next 24 hours. That's it for now, but I'll be checking on the third seed in the morning. It's still early days I suppose, so we'll see what's what then! Sorry for the long intro.. Hope everything is clear and makes sense! If anyone has any questions or got some advice they wanna share, feel free to drop a comment! Untill next time, peace out farmers!

I am new to the forum and enjoy reading the opinions of so many people. I have a fair few years of growing under my belt and probably over 50 grows since 1985 when I first started. It might be more like 100... I digress! In the old days we butchered 400 watt warehouse lights and made reflectors out of any old sheet metal, normally from the skip of a local firm. There wasn't any Coco but there was soil and basic feeds from AG Shield, Pickerings or Comptons Agriculture were Pot Nitrate, Mono KP, Epsom Salts and Lawn Feed were made into stock solution etc. We used to veg for a size of about 24 inches and flower until the pistils went brown, the smoke was never flushed and it was strong stuff the old original Afghan strains we later called Skunk 1 and 2, but until about 1990 we could only get seeds out of VIZ, the comic for adults! I remember smuggling 50 JH seeds shoplifted by a 'mate' from Amsterdam, i was sick with anxiety all the way home on that horrible ferry to Hull, I never realised it was legal to buy the seeds! Most plants produced around 5 ounces with nothing more than topping and feeding your own brews out of a tomato growing book or indeed anywhere you could get a recipe from. Most farm supplies had brochures, leaflets or instructions as to the use of most chemicals, so a mixture in pounds and ounces got weighed out on mums kitchen scales of Pot Nitrate, MKP, Lawn Iron, Epsom Salts, Horse mineral supplement and Molasses, it kind of worked! The leaves were our guide as we couldn't get or we wasn't aware of EC meters until 1990? We also discovered Canna A-B around 1990 and bloom boosting with MKP and the good old Corn Syrup fed to pigs, bloody good stuff that was! Anyway the leaves yellowed, curled up, curved, swerved, spotted, dulled and went every colour from red to dark purple before harvest but the smoke was knock out and yielded well, certainly 5 ounce as an average. These days if I try hard and go 30 inch in veg with a commercial strain like BB/NL or WW then its near to 8-9 but as a normal grow in Coco with Blue its 4-6 and yeah its stinkier but commercials like the old NL were better for you're stealth as they were low odour! I have an old Polaroid somewhere (that was a photograph that developed inside a liquid folder after popping out of your dads camera for the babies among you) depicting my prize 4 plants under a single 400 with a fan the size of a 747 turbine ducted up and out of our mums old cellar! I hope I can find it because those babies were pretty impressive tops! So today we spend £35 on a base feed like Canna Coco A/B which is fair enough for 5 litres but for the 4 plant man buying a litre its £15!!! The Canna base range of Coco, Soil and Hydro are the best available in my opinion. I remember it when it was clear and contained no iron or copper sulphate. Then we have the 'additives' pro bloom booster, micros, silicate, hammerhead, bud blood, bio boost, top gun, bud candy, terpinator, resinator, pk13/14, cannazyme, zone, rhizotonic.... blimey we should be growing our own Penicillin! I am not an addict for the additives but I do love to open a bottle in my local shop of something new and miraculous that promises me big, oily, tasty buds, mega lush growth and stems the thickness of Arnies forearm... but my question is "Do they work? Do some work? Do none of them work? Or do the nutrient companies just cash in our desire for better product and our gullible trusting nature... We aren't wary of the advertisers or videos on You Tube because anyone who dares to comment with "I used it and its rubbish" gets removed! Or at least mine did... This is a little bit tongue in cheek and obviously we are all adults with a brain and can choose whether we go spend £20 on a bottle of water that contains a secret ingredient we can't be enlightened with... How did Advanced Nutrients retain their credibility when the 0-50-30 Bloom Booster Pro got dropped because people cottoned on to the fact it was just MKP, Iron Chelate mixed with some copper sulphate and then ground to a finer powder to look and smell amazing! We are now told that KP ratio should be 1-2 not 2-1 but wouldn't a big nute company like AN have known this for years? Of course they would because researching the needs of a crop is easy for a fertiliser manufacturer. Can you imagine YARA turning round after 15 years of selling the Vitamax mixture of 20-10-20 to Potato farmers saying "oh sorry chaps but actually we've got that wrong its now changed to 20-20-10 but don't worry you've only lost about 20 ton of spuds" I think you get the picture... Also can someone tell me the significance of PK 13/14 if the PK ideal is 1-2? It just so happens that the ratio of NPK showing 0-1-2 is none existent in commercial fertiliser so that includes 0-10-20 or 0-20-40 etc and why? Well because some turd at a nutrient company saw we couldn't go out and buy it from the local agricultural suppliers at £30 for a 25 kilo sack so decided to make their own and then poison our brains with a new regime of 0-1-2 as the miracle formula!!! Or am I just getting cynical in my old age...

Hey all, new to the forum and just looking for some advice / quick analysis of my plants Im using the wilma big 4 (18L) pots using Advanced nutrients Sensi Grow A + B & Sensi Bloom A + B My worry is that my friend is doing the same strains in soil ( airpots ) and his plants are blistering ahead in terms of speed. I thought that my system would produce results quicker than it is. My stems seem to be all purple apart from the new growth at top and new growth at the bottom, i put this down to intense stress placed on the plant before it was put into the wilma system. ( Nutrient deficiency ) Fan leaves are pretty small, just all developing 5 blade leaves now which is also a concern and i believe i had some slight nutrient burn during the first few days in the system. Since then iv flushed the reservoir and the nutrient mix going though them seems to be ok but i dont know if i should be adding more nutes for faster growth? My PH fluctuates between 5.0-6.0 and my EC is sitting at 480 microseimens i believe thats 0.48EC? EC is rising daily and i dont seem to see much water being used up. Let me know what you guys think Strains grown are 3 x chronic ( probably 7th generation cuttings ) and 1 x Tutenkhamon ( From seed i believe ) Going to upload pics now. Edit: Need to learn to upload first! giving me an error? Error You have run out of space for uploads You have used 0bytes of Unlimited

Hi guys, I wanted to ask about your experiences with Advanced Nutrients Bud Blood? I' m considering using on my next grow but a guy I know told me he thinks it affected the taste of his blue cheese. Has anyone else had this experiance? Also it seems like really strong stuff, how do you guys adjust you other nutes to deal with this and do you give it full strength? Cheers
