  1. Hi there ran into some issues maintaining humidity in seedlings grow area. temporarily maintaining humidity with a ziplock bag ofer the pot, but this cant be ideal as the seedling as no fresh air. For young seedlings would you prioritise humidity or air circulation? normal humidtiy without ziplock bag is 40-45% Thanks S
  2. Hi guys, Firstly glad to join your community , thanks for having me I've heard good things. I have just started my first grow and thought I'd start a thread to share my experience. . . . and maybe ask for some guidance if that's ok? My setup is a 1.2mx1.2m and 2m tall budbox, RVK Extractor with PK Carbon filter (filter not attatched yet) .At the moment just a desk top fan pumping air into a bottom vent flap ( room well ventilated) I have an adjustable digital ballast with a 600w dual spectrum bulb for both veg and flower. I am growing in a 70/30 Coco/perlite mix, with Vitalink Coir Max nutrients. A RAM air humidifier with Therm and hygrometer. currently at 25°c in day and 19°c at night , lights on 18/6 with RH at around 65%. I will be managing PH levels , if I need to start taking a PPM count I will, but hoping to just have good control over my climate and nutrients and read my plant well to spot deficiancies and toxicities. I have already planted 2 kush seeds from a smoke I had a while back, just to play around (I'll be keeping an eye as I have zero idea if they are male or female). I have also just germinated and sprouted successfully 1 Cherry Bomb and 1 Atomic Bomb from bombseeds, both feminized. These were planted roughly 10 days apart, I'm hoping to spot any signs of the Kush being male before it becomes a problem , ( a few weeks away I know but any advice on that appreciated). I have not yet fed anything other than 1Ml/l of Plant start and a very small (1ml/l) dosage of root stim. I will slowly up this and introduce 2 part nutrients after first transplant. Curious as the what level a freshly sprouted seedling can handle under HPS. I have it on an adjustable ballast, 250 , 400, 600 and 650. I have the light currently held at about 140 cm or 55 inches. Seedlings can tend to reach for the light if they are not receiving enough. Shall I leave my light at 250W or move up to 400? Thanks! JPC420 I will post photos when I find out how to looool
  3. Afternoon people Can anyone advise the maximum amount of seedlings I should be able to keep under a 2ft 4 tube T5 Maxibright until ready to be taken outdoors? At the peak of propagation, I’ll have 45x vegging at the same time, and the plants in propagation will vary between being just germinated and 3 weeks old. Will I have enough space for them or should I upgrade to the bigger 4ft 2 tube model, or maybe buy another of what I currently have? Thanks in advance GB

  6. Hi everyone, A couple of seedlings have started to droop the leaves and turn yellow. I have them sitting above a res of EC 0.5 and ph 5.8-6. I must admit, when these seedlings where only in the rockwool, I let them dry out too much and they completely collapsed, but I caught them just in time and they came back to life, with just water. Not sure if this kind of abuse would have a long term impact on the plants chances, but they seemed fine afterwards. Since putting them above the res, I've been watering them with the liquid from the res instead of plain water. The leaves started to become a bit droopy and turn yellow. I think it could be either: - A problem manifesting itself out of the fact that I let them dry out completely, and just managed to resuscitate them. - Maybe I shouldn't be watering them with res nutes. Maybe I should be using just plain RO water? - Something else.... I would be grateful if someone more experienced than me (not hard!:) would be able to comment as to why these might be like this? In particular, why would the baby leaves have turned completely yellow? I fear if I don't act now, these ones will die. (Killed 4 already due to silly mistakes, like letting dry out). Live and learn... Thanks in advance
  7. Hi All, Ive just started my second grow and they are currently seedlings. I discovered something seemed to be on one of the little'ins and flew off when i picked the rockwool cube up. It was too small to kill or identify, but I have caught another one in the tent with a water bottle spray, and it seemed to be a small black fly. Not sure what it could be, but I'm looking at spraying them with Neem Oil and peppermint castile soap as I've heard that it good for many things. Is it safe to spray seedlings (eg 1 week old 1st pair of leaves) with this? Cheers

  13. Checked my seedlings / plants this morning and was greeted by one curling the edges of it's leaves up . These are on Day 10 (Thats day 1 planting the seed in the soil) - soil temps were a little low - 21 C average canopy is 26 C and they are under LED lights - running at approximately 200W at a distance of around three and a half foot. These are Auto's , using Mill's light compost, Foundation at 2ml / litre, calmag at 0.5ml/litre. Help please all advice gratefully received ! many thanks Compz
  14. Right....mistakes were made. I've got the two plants still in a dry reservoir top feeding twice a day 10ml-15ml - small amount of AN A+B and 0.5ml of superthrive for 1L RO water. PH'd 5.8. EC 0.3. The pebbles were dry so I put a fair amount over them and the centre. Came back 15hrs later to droopy plants. Checked the PH in the litre tub and it had shot up to PH 13.8. Feed the plants some AN Revive and they looked perked for a day but had light green leaves and began drooping again in the evening after feeding superthrive and RO and revive - 250ppm. The morning they weren't drooping as much but still looked ill. I checked the PH pen and the probe I had and both were out by quite a bit despite calibrating them a 6 weeks ago. So my plants have PH issues - droopy & yellowing leaves. I calibrated both and now constantly checking the PH. I didn't realise surperthrive changed the PH. I've now read I should have left the solution 1hr or so and then check the PH and then fed. I've now put them in smaller 10L buckets with air stones temporarily to keep the bottoms moist and hopefully tempt the roots out. EC @0.3 PH 5.8. Pot is 2inches below with 2x 4 inch flat air stones. Both plants are HSO The New. One is short and stubby and had one leaf when germinated. The other seems like a decent grower but both have never prayed to the lights as it were. Bottom leaves turning light green/yellow. Taller one below but leaves still look droopy and yellowing. Nute burn happened a few weeks back. I was thinking of adding them to the Oxypot XL tomorrow so I can leave them be and get the roots teased out. Keeping the pebbles wet and not letting them dry out whilst top feeding twice a day wasn't working. Every time I increased the frequency of the 'pebble wetting' they'd wilt - due to my pens being off. The one leaf one below - I wasn't sure whether to just put her in some soil and let her be? Not sure if it's just a short pheno or just naturally stunted due to one leaf during germination. I kind of want to now have this one in soil and have the other one in the Oxypot XL. Would it be too late to transplant into soil? My other question is does it matter what PH you're feeding your seedling to when waiting for the roots to grow? I know the solution has to be in range of 5.8PH but until the roots are out and in the reservoir whats the best PH to feed seedlings at? Any guidance would be appreciated Thanks in advance!

  16. So my query is the following. Can seeds be germinated under the scope 275 led? If yes, what would be the recommended wattage and distance under a Scope 275V2?
  17. Being a eager first time grower it's been a very bad start..but I have to laugh! Over the past few weeks I've had a absolute nightmare! 20th July - Started out germinating auto seeds. Soaked for 24hrs and left to germ in rootriot cubes in a plastic prop with a cheap heat mat on the window cill. All the seeds have been stored in their original tube containers then in a box in a box. Lemon Zkittlez Dutch Passion x 1 SAD Sweet Seeds Auto x 1 Super Hash Auto x 1 Green Crack x 1 Sweet Gelato Sweet Seeds x 1 Checked on them on 23rd and nothing. 24th July hottest day of the year. Whilst checking I could see the seeds were cooked. No temp control on the heat mat so the temps hit well over 30*C. Gutted. So I thought right I'd stick with it but add some plastic bubble padding between the prop and heat mat. 29th July - Soaked 3 seeds for 24hrs and put them in the prop. Lemon Zkittlez Dutch Passion x 1 Strawberry Cheesecake x 1 Sweet Gelato Sweet Seeds x 1 Check 24hrs later and saw two had popped - Sweet Gelato and Strawberry Cheesecake -30th July. I was over the moon. Closing my eyes and just thinking about what they'd look like. My new babies...woohoo!! Right lets pop some more..I've got this down!!! Lets do them in damp BB light mix in a small seedling sack. Soaked for 24 hrs could see she had cracked and popped it in the mix about 1cm depth crack facing down. Glueberry OG x 1 Added her to the prop and left for 48hrs spraying the soil every so often. 3rd Aug - Nothing. My other two babies were coming along although slowly. Checked the seeds again and the one in the mix hadn't popped nor had the lemon Zkittlez in the cube. 5th Aug I was impatient and opened the sack to see if anything had happened. The seed looked exactly the same as it did going in but a bit mushy. Dead. By this point I was like I've spent a fortune and if I can't germinate some seedlings what chance have I got with 4 plants? I was thinking maybe this is why I don't have any pets!! OT: A while ago I had two gold fish I won for my neice from the fairground. She only wanted to look at them and not have them as pets. So i bought all the decent kit and took care of them for 2yrs. The other summer it was hot...and I forgot to feed them for 3 days. They were starving and one had taken bites out of the others tail. I fed them flakes which is all I had as I usually feed them pellets. I put a way too much in there thinking they will yam the light flakes. It blocked the filter...and created a film on the top of the water....came back to dead fish. Anyways I digress.... I was checking on both of my babies....opened the prop and it slipped the lid knocked the seedling. Snap. She's just laying there...motionless. I've killed her....quickly tried to save her by giving her a crutch. She looked good. Leaves were fine 24hrs later. Then she left me in the following night and I came back to a shrivelled cheesecake. Gutted. My first living victim. RIP 8 days old. 6th Aug Sweet Gelato is still going...slowly. Bought a heated prop and T5 light to see if it would make a difference 8th Aug. Sweet Gelato is still going...slowly. I was only feeding water and mineral water at that. 2nd sets of leaves on her and fed water only. My mistake as they were getting no nutes at all. 11 days old and was less than 2 inches in height and had two main leaves and two tiny leaves under them that were yellowing. Gave her some very diluted Biosys. No roots coming through yet. One Lemon Zkittle seed left plus the Northern light freebies I received with my orders. Soaked 3 in mineral water and a very diluted mix of Biosys in dark pots for 24hrs. They had all cracked and popped them in riot cubes. Deep breath. I put them the same depth of the other 2 seeds of I'd successfully germinated. 7th Aug - Came back and all 3 had popped...kind of. The relief and excitement! Wow! 48hrs later they were slowly reaching out of cubes...all bloody 4 with the seedling cases attached. FML. 09.8.2019. Checked her for advice and most said be patient as it will fall off soon. It was down to not planting the seedling deep enough for the seed case to be pulled off. 11th Aug - Kept them moist - Yay we have mould. Kept them moist now trying not to dampen them off if not done already. 13th Aug -Mould now gone and they are still reaching for the light. Soaked the last NL auto and popped in the riot cube deeper than normal to hopefully ensure it gets it seed off.I got some tweezers and popped them off. Yay! No!!!!!!!!! All 4 seeds still have their membranes attached. You could see where the tiny cotyledon leaves are trying to pop through. 14th Aug -all 4 are just reaching for the light with no growth due to the membrane still being stuck. 15th Aug - 1 week old and the membrane is still on with the tip going brown. I turn my humidifier on and put the prop lid under it and leave it for 30mins. Attempt to remove the membranes and prise open slightly without damaging. 16th Aug all 4 still reaching for the light but none of the leaves have turned green bar the Lemon Zkittles 1mm size leaves. 17th Aug I have my 2nd living victim. Lemon Zkittles...the last one. RIP. 18th Aug - This morning I have my 3rd victim - NL auto and the last NL auto has not popped at all - 5 days. The first one is looking okay but might just bin it and start a fresh! I may just go with the photo periods as they can take a bit of a bashing! The Sweet Gelato I have now is clearly stunted for nearly three weeks old...although since I've given her BioSys the last week she's jumped on a bit...I want to transfer her to the Oxypot XL DWC I have but want another to go with her that isn't stunted. I'll start a diary soon! Just thought I'd share my nightmare germination issues - it's soo simple to some to get this basic process right but just a slight drop or jump in temps or humidity seems to screw me over lol. Anyways just waiting for some fresh seeds or may go with the G13 Maltezerz photoperiods I have. With it being my first experience any mistake is a lesson learnt!
  18. Hi all, didn't really know which bit to post this is in as I'm having a few problems. I have posted before and @blackpoolbouncer gave me some great advice but I'm still having problems. The background: I grew successfully in coco coir, starting my seeds in rockwool, for about 2 years then I switched to hydro and the wilma system. I had one successful grow and then decided to switch from rockwool to root riots due to rockwool being bad for the environment. I grew 8 Barney's Farm Blue cheese from seed using root riots and there were no issues. Then the problems began,. I bought 8 Big Bomb seeds, started them in a prop, did exactly like before, put them in the root riot and none of them even germed. I posted here and got some great advice which I followed. This time one out of 8 popped up. The others didn't even germ. I decided to try different seeds so I bought some Super bud and this time decided to try the paper towel method. All of them germed just fine and I very carefully transferred them to the root riots, careful not to overwater as I suspected this was the issue last time. They all popped up just fine and began to look good. I gave them quarter strength nutes. Then 3 of them flopped over and died (I'm guessing dampening off) and the remaining 5 are still upright but have completely stopped growing. They are under an 85watt CFL. I'm tearing my hair out here. It's like I'm destined not to grow anymore and I've lost my confidence. I still have the first Big Bomb which is a seedling now but it doesn't look super healthy. I'll post a pic ina bit. it has healthy new growth but the old leaves are yellowing and the stem looks very thin. any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to go back to rockwool I think. I have 8 more Superbud seeds. Wtf am I doing wrong people?
  19. These are RGSC babies of various ages, all in 1/2L peat pots John Innes seed sowing compost with Perlite. I've sometimes been feeding them very diluted organic tomato fertiliser w/ seaweed. Otherwise just water. They are under cheap shit Chinese eBay LEDs (2 x "50W" + 1 x "100W") in a cupboard with pretty poor ventilation. I open the door when I can and usually have a fan going in there. But I have considered that the ventilation and humidity are probably far from optimal. I'm told these first ones, whitening at the edges, might be cold nights? What do you think? Then these brown bits, I've read both over and under feeding can cause. Finally, this guy just looks unwell. Yellowed leaves with sort of crispy brown detail. This photo looked good on my phone, if I get responses to this I could take some clearer and better-lit photos. If you have any advice I'd really appreciate it! Cheers guys
  20. Hi Folks, I'm having some issues with slow growth. And I'm noticing a pattern. I find that generally that seeds that sprout within 3-4 days seem to continue growing quickly, usually pushing out their 3rd set of leaves some time around the 8-10 day mark, whereas seeds that take 5,6 or 7 days to sprout seem to take forever to get to the same stage. My seeds can't be old as the strain has just been released this year, temps are fine, seeds weren't over watered and the soil mix was very light. Humidity may have been a little low but this has never really affected things too much in the past. Banging my head against a wall here trying to figure this one out and no longer have the time to restart the grow. Seeds are Sweet Gelato Auto - just over a week from sprouting and seemed to have almost completely stalled - although seem healthy enough. Any thoughts?

So iv got the seedlings slowly going , I was just wondering how much light should I give them per day and when should I start to give them less/more light and I fkd up a bit and forgot what ones are autos soo gonna have to find out somehow haha.... just need someone to explain light situation for veg and flowering periods ...these plants will be going outdoors at some point too when they are healthy and strong enough will probs train them before planting out as well by sitting them next to the window getting them used too out cold (ish) Scottish air cheers All the best :')
