  1. Lets hope it is a great summer for growing, I have my fingers and toes crossed... Firstly, a big thank you to @Dinafem-Mark and the whole Dinafem team for running this competition and providing the seeds. This summer I am growing Critical +2.0 and Purple Afghan Kush. Lets see what can be done in the greenhouse with these at Lat 53.5. I have done greenhouse grows before and have learned a lot over the years but I have never ran with any Dinafem beans before. I have just put the seeds into moist paper towel in a takeaway plastic container and have put them into the airing cupboard. Once the tap root gets to around 1cm, I will transfer into pots. Here they are: As you can see, I am running 2 of each variety which I think will be plenty in my greenhouse, especially as I am also running some autos which you can follow in my other diaries in the 'Growing under glass' section of 'Outdoor growing'. I typically like to grow in soil / compost with lots of amendments (supersoil) but this year I am thinking of backing of a little with the supersoil and use a combination of amendments and Biobizz Fishmix and Bloom as well as Maxicrop Seaweed extract and Formulex. I will amend the soil and will detail as I do it but I won't be relying on it as the sole source of nutrients. My greenhouse is 9' x 12' and I will also be growing tomatoes and chillies in there, mainly as a visual cover crop to hide my cannabis plants but I also love to eat them. I also have the following in my greenhouse which help hugely: 2 x Auto roof vents 1 x Auto intake louvre 1 x Bio Green 2kW electric greenhouse heater with thermostatic control 1 x 20 l/day dehumidifier plumbed in for continuous use 1 x water butt with airstone Timer controlled automatic watering system to keep all my plants alive when I go on holiday Digital Thermometer and Hygrometer. I'm really looking forward to this years grow and feeling very optimistic. Last year, I only did one small plant that gave me smoke until 5th January. This year I'm hoping to do a lot better. The final pots I will use are 42 litre vegetable bags from Wilko's that I have used before with great success. They are light weight, hold a lot of soil and are easy to work with. I think that is enough for the first post as not much has really happened yet. Hopefully, seeds will be in soil in a couple of days, will report back then...
  2. Bud Wiser 'Indoor' grow, 2017-18 Winter Season, UK. Equipment: Converted shed x 1. 6' x 6' x 6' .. flowering room, same for the waiting room = 216 cu. ft. or 6.11643886 cubic metres! Note: I haven't got to the CO2 yet, I need to upgrade my lighting before I waste money on more gadgets! Waiting room: T5 flourescents, 96 watts continual power draw from the wall, 4 x 2ft tubes. Flowering room: 216 Cubic Feet. (6 cu. mtrs. - metric conversion as above!) 400 watt COB LED x 1. 300 watt dim LED x 2. ... pulling roughly 500 watts from the wall. 530 cu.mtrs. per hour exhaust fan. 360 cu.mtrs. per hour intake fan. ... another 83 watts from the wall. The LEDs are cheap Chinese jobs, so big yields are going to be a challenge. The Plan: I'm going to ScroG the Critical and SoG the Kush. The Critical goes first, 4x plants from seed, 8 weeks in veg .. 6 weeks under T5s on 24hr, this gives me a couple of extra weeks to conduct some topiary, then another 2wks on 24 hr light in the flowering room under the ScroG net to fill the space up. I'll be using 25 litre Airpots and (probably) Plagron Batmix for the bulk of the grow. I built a new ScroG net just for the job, adjustable, re-stringable, cheap to build. Meanwhile, I'm starting 2 of the Purple Afghan Kush seeds off at the same time as the Criticals .. the reason is I need to make a bunch of clones because I'll be growing 4 rows of 5 plants this time for a SoG. I'm thinking grow 2x mothers, take 30x clone cuttings, using the best 20x and chucking the rest. I've still got a few beans left just in case it all goes tits-up. I'll be using 20x 8" normal pots for this grow, and possibly my own soil mix, we'll see. Flowering doesn't start until the New Year, so I have 4 months to play with. As always, I soak my seeds in a light seaweed-extract solution .. 1:1000 dilution rate. They went into water today, so I guess the clock's now tickin' ..! I'll try and update around once a week .. tho' there'll be times when there's lots happening and time's when there's bugger-all, so it'll be whatever's appropriate. @Dinafem-Mark .. just a quick tag to let you know I've started. I won't tag you on every post, it'll drive you nuts, what with everyone elses diaries to wade through! Enjoy the Expo!
  3. Good vibes and love to good people of UK420, Excite indeed for the new season. Never done a Diary before taken the good people at Dinafem to send me some seeds for their comp and the imminent deadline of entries to said competition to finally get one up so here it starts; I'm starting a couple of the WW autos off now, but seeing as it's so cold at the moment 8 degrees and wind and rain last few days been using one of these. Chopped it into the middle of a Gorse bush. Put a couple of WW auto seeds into little pots with verve multi purpose kept them soaked for 5 days only watered them once as it is airtight and with it being so cold not much evaporation has occurred. After 5 days they have sprouted the cream mandarin they are in with has yet to. Will be transporting these on in around 16 days to their final 20l tubs with multi purpose and perlite then fed OT liquid bloom 2 weeks into flower. So all is good here and these white widow are obviously strong. Will be starting the PAK in a couple weeks and will update accordingly bro. Next thing to do is get 1000l of verve, but the local BandQ has been out for 3 weeks pah. ATB guerrilla guy and gals.
  4. Once again Dinafem has taken over the House of Freax for what I'm hoping will be a great show. Im using the Alien F&D system again in the same 5 pot configuration that i used for the Big Kush. Ionic Nutes have worked well for me from the word go so i will be sticking with them and using the Hydro Grow/Bloom and Boost Supplements will be Cal-Mag and Liquid Silicon Rocking the tent this time are: Sweet Deep Grapefruit Shark Attack Dinachem Purple Afghan Kush Amnesia Kush I soaked some Root Riot cubes for about 15 mins gave them a quick gentle squeeze to drain off any excess water then popped in the seeds. Now its time to sit back and wait for them to pop.
  5. Evening guys, welcome to my diary! I'll be growing 9x Dinafem Purple Afghan Kush & 1 Dinafem Amnisia Kush this time round. Firstly, thanks to @@Dinafem-Mark for selecting me to participate in this seasons grow - I chose the Purple Afghan Kush because the quality of the end product is very high, the weed smells and tastes fantastic and it was a straightforward plant to grow in my previous experience. I have nothing but positive feedback from friends who have sampled PAK so I am excited to be growing it again. I haven't sampled Amnesia Kush personally, however I have consistently heard great things about Dinafems Amnesia, so I am hoping for something special. Grow Room Profile Fan1: 125 2 speed fan – 230/360M3 per hour, inc silencer. Fan2: 420 m3 per hour fan with temperature setting and speed controller, inc silencer. Filter: 2 x Prima Klima K2601 360m3 Ballast: 2 x Lucilux 600 Watt electronic ballast with dim function Lamp: 2 x 600W Sunmaster Dual Spectrum with Adjust-A-Wings reflector. The cabinet is pre-made by G-Tools and is called the 1200W Adjust-A-Wing and gives approximately 2m squared of growing area and I would recommend it to anyone looking at something other than a tent-style of indoor growing. More information can be had here: I had originally planned on doing 10 PAK's on their own to keep things as simple as possible, I did my usual routine of soaking the seeds in plain tapwater for approximately 4 hours before placing them in rootriots, soaked in non-PH'd water (1lr containing a few drops of Plant Magic Rootstim) in a propagator sitting on top of a rootIT heat mat set to 23oc.. The seeds were very viable and 9 had popped within 2 days, by day 3 and 4 they were all showing their first leaves but the remaining one hadn't emerged from the riot ... I opened it up and it had sprouted but grew back within the riot in a loop and I popped the head off the seedling by mistake trying to ease it out - I wasn't sure what else to sprout but luckily I have 5x Amnesia Kush in storage and so I germinated one of them. It took around 4 days to show above the rootriot so I have one which is a little behind the others - I'm just hoping they finish around the same time, I flowered for 64 days in total in my previous PAK grow. Currently, they are about 14 days in to veg give a day or two. They've been fed 3 times, the first being only a few drops of PM rootstim - The second feeding a very weak rootstim/PM coco grow mix containing a ml of each in 2 litres 4 days or so ago. I have just spent the evening repotting them to their new homes, 8l airpots and have given them their first 'proper' feed - 4ml per l of PM rootstim, and 1.5ml/l of PM's coco grow nutes, the EC came out around 0.6/7 and I PH'd to 6.2. They've all had a good drenching, nearly 3l each so they'll be okay for approx 3 or 4 days - I plan on vegging for 5 weeks in total, and they'll stay in these pots for 2 more weeks or so. Here's how things looked before I repotted them: They are in 1l's in the above picture. The rouge Amnesia Kush is top right. One random specimen of PAK, they were about 3.5-4 inches tall before repotting. After repotting, just to show how different the PAK and (erm) AMK are looking (AMK at the top) ... and a group picture of everyone after a good feeding. (AMK top left) They're under 400w at the moment and happy enough I think. I'll see how things progress over the next few days and I'll probably update the diary in a week or so. Thanks for looking in and thanks again Mark & Dinafem - Top company.

  7. A big thanks to @@Dinafem-Mark and everyone at Dinafem for the chance to run these Purple Afghan Kush The seeds were put into a shot glass to soak tonight. Once they have sprouted ill transfer them to some root riots. I'll be using a T5 for early veg. I'm not sure what size tent I'll be getting just yet but these girls will be first in there. I have a few ideas in mind for lighting but I'll talk about that once I have decided on the tent. Wizard
