  1. Hi can anybody tell me if i need to worry week 3/4 flower
  2. This question no doubt has been asked numerous times, But I really can't be arsed looking at reviews which likely are fake(so many review websites now, I imagine paying people to leave a review works for sales), been on google and some other forums looking through, yet nothing has given me confidence to plan a set up with an led grow op, yes many claim more gpw, many claim about the efficiency, when I look for comparisons between 600w hps and led, they start talking about draw watts vs branded watts advertised etc... i haven't got time to waste or money for that fact, on equipment that is not worth it or spending hours of researching something that is just hype... So i will ask this, If you have an led please... 1. Name 2. Where to purchase 3. Country of origin (quality assurance) 4. Cost 5. Results (with proof e.g diary, photos etc) 6. wattage equivalent based on !!! draw power !!!, not the name e.g 300watt not actually pulling 300w 7. Anything that you feel needs to be said (temps, humids, space, etc) 8. Would you recommend this over hps, cmh, mh, etc ? why? Please keep it set out like above, hopefully this can become a sticky to avoid this question again and again, think that covers most of what anyone needs to know, no over complicating things genius growers, we dont need indepth detail on light spectrums, performance will be enough for most of us e.g if you got more off an led vs hps - the difference in K is irrelevant here, simply say led produced 10% more etc.... many can learn this part later on... this is simply for identifying quality units with trusted feedback on results
  3. Hi all. I've been absent from the site for some time, and I'm glad to be back, but even happier to see a few growers have made the switch to Quantum Boards. A few of you may remember I have been banging on about giving them a go for many many moons, but the same one single concern has always steered me away from them... Bud density. I have had several chances to get them in from overseas over the last 2 years give or take, money wasn't ever the issue and I trust the tech 100%, I have always stood by they're ability to grow good Cannabis. But every time I get to that point of finally hanging up my HID I bottle it because I have convinced myself they wont give me the same density and to some extent maturity as my HID do. There is a reason I always come back to this. A good friend tried some early COB tech some years back now, using his regular clones he grew out the same plants the same way he always does just with these new lights. Although he got an admirable yield the buds were loose and airy and almost under matured compared to his normal finished buds. Now I have somewhat of a "Thing" about bud density, I always aim for tight buds in strain selection and tend to pick strains that can give me that via genetics as well as using good lighting and feed, so I think these two factors have embedded some kind of fear into me about using QB's. I know to some that may sound ignorant as so many folks are using them now that this alone should be enough to talk me round. I have bugged to death a few folks here at UK420 that grow with them and even last year when I was an inch away from making the jump I still bottled it. Now fast forward to my current position, I'm indoors instead of outdoors in a cool garage, have now got a P.A.Y.G meter instead of monthly bills, and my grow area is slightly smaller. Add in it looks like I can now get QB's in the UK and I may finally have to make the switch. I'm not kidding my current lighting setup EATS electric. I just wondered if any growers using Quantum Boards atm could help me get past this and if anyone had some pics of buds grown under QB? Huge thanks in advance for any help. Cheers. GV.

  5. Diy led lights (F series strips) T his is a diy thread, for the diy guys, to diy a diy led grow light..Its the cheapest way to get a decent led light. Im not going to get too deep here. This is a basic guide with parts list with product codes to google, rather than a how to build it.. “what wattage do I need for my space” Strips. The Samsung f series strip. This features 144 Lm561C S6 bin leds. Driving them at the currents listed in the parts lists will achieve 2.2-2.35 ish µMol/j at system level. Warning! Don’t be fooled by the cheaper boards/strips.Genuine strips have the Samsung logo and are fully CE compliant. Heres the parts numbers for the strips.Google will give you the supplier. 3000K SI-B8V521560WW 3500K SI-B8U521560WW 4000K SI-B8T521560WW 3000k and 3500k will do veg and flower for weed, just buy whatever’s in stock. 4000k might be useful for mums or lettuce, micro greens etc Strips cost £28 each or you can get a discount on ten+ (including vat which they will add at the checkout) Drivers are easy to find, again just google the part number in the lists. TME is the best place to get them. Ill put rough prices so you know whats the right price to pay. heatsinks you want U channel aluminium. 1 3/4” wide 1” high and 590mm long. This is a very common size and easy to get. Framework you want 1/2” by 1” Unequal aluminium angle(Or whatever you can get. staiir nosing work great). For the length you need it a little smaller than your tent. So 60cm tent get 40cm angle. 1.2m tent get 1m angle. Just get it as big as possible. If your tent is 1.2m or bigger build it in two lights. Max spread is the game here. More points/angles of light over the area = “penetration”. The metal work you can buy cut to order online, or a local shop will do you it cheaper. Heat sinks cost around £4-5 each and framework is a couple quid. All the wiring/wagos/bolts ect be found easy on shitbay/scamazon. Or any local electrics shop. Make sure you get solid core wire. And your power cable is a 10amp one. Are you still here? Heres a chart, I think it makes sense Heres a list just in-case it doesn't. Prices are the max you want to pay really, you should get it a bit less if you get the metal cheap. . 150w. Total cost - 130ish l 2x F series strips. l 1x HLG-120H-48A driver (£40 max) l 2x heatsinks l 2x unequal angle. l 2m 18awg or 20awg solid core wire. l 2x 3 way wago connector. l Old kettle lead for the plug. l 3 core cable connector. l 20mm thermal tape roll l Bolts/nuts/rivets (whatever you want to use) 210w. Total cost - 170ish l 3x F series strips. l 1x HLG-185H-48A driver (£45 max) l 3x heatsinks l 2x unequal angle. l 3m 18awg or 20awg solid core wire. l 2x 5 way wago connector. l Old kettle lead for the plug. l 3 core cable connector. l 20mm thermal tape roll. l Bolts/nuts/rivets (whatever you want to use) 265w. Total cost 220ish l 4x F series strips. l 1x HLG-240H-48A driver (£55 max) l 4x heatsinks l 2x unequal angle. l 4m 18awg or 20awg solid core wire. l 2x 5 way wago connector. l Old kettle lead for the plug. l 3 core cable connector. l 20mm thermal tape roll. l Bolts/nuts/rivets (whatever you want to use) 350w. Total cost 280 ish l 5x F series strips. l 1x HLG-320H-48A driver (£80 max) l 5x heatsinks l 2x unequal angle. l 5m 18awg or 20awg solid core wire. l 2x 6 way terminal block l Old kettle lead for the plug. l 3 core cable connector. l 20mm thermal tape roll. l Bolts/nuts/rivets (whatever you want to use) 420w. Total cost 340 ish l 210w kit parts x2. 530w Total cost 440 ish l 265w kits parts x2. 700w Total cost 520 ish l 350w kit parts x2. The build its self is self explanatory really. Mount the strips last so you don’t damage them. Get the tape lined up right before sticking it as it WILL NOT come off once on. Wiring is the only tricky bit. Its a parallel wired system. All negatives from the strips go the the negative on the driver and all positives from the strips go to the positive on the driver. Here a quick paint wiring diagram, to show how to do it. I don’t mind helping out, if you have a question, just post it on the thread. It is a low voltage system (47V) but still be careful, take time stripping wires right, cable tie them to the frame. If you can see any exposed core you have fucked it, try again. DISCLAIMER- key accepts no responsibility for damage caused to persons, or property. This is not electrical advise, just a parts guide. Don’t pm me asking where to get stuff , post questions in this thread. PMs will be ignored. @mods Any issues with this please let me know.

Hi all, ive attached some photos of some yellow leaves I’m experiencing on some casey jones.. the photos aren’t great but hopefully you can see the issue. Hoping to fix the sick plant before she goes into flowering. All the other ladies are absolutely fine, under pretty much the exact same conditions. Any advice would be helpful.
  8. Hi guys! Been on this site for years and sorry for the lack of posts. just recently bought a new house and the grow space is slightly smaller than the last and worried about temps with my current 2 x 600w HPS lamps. going to take the plunge to LEDs after a lot of diliberation but it’s really confusing the hell out of me.. so many to choose from and my brain is starting to hurt with all the different info I am seeing.. some swear by LEDs and some say don’t do it! Grow own space is a 2.4m x 1.2m tent. can you guys please let me know the best LED set ups for my grow space please! Hard to trawl through all the posts about LEDs and the best threads seem to be a couple of years out of date.. I just need to know part numbers for the best ones and any other kit I will need to get a fully operational set up going. was looking at DIYLEDs page and all of his kit is out of stock at the moment so was wondering if you guys have any other suggestions? looking to spend £1,000 tops so best options would really be appreciated.. thanks all in advance. SJ
  9. Hello all I have recently got my grow up and running but not sure if I've missed something any pointers would be great My setup is...... 6ft x 3ft space in shed I have a pallet with storage heater bricks on it and 2 x tube heater in pallet controlled by a timer coming on for 15mins per hour lights off and 15mins per 2 hours lights on my root temps are 23 lights on 20 lights off I have an Inkbird controller for canopy height temps which turns a oil heater on for heat and the fans on for cool fans are venting outside and drawing from outside temps set for 26 and this method is keeping that temp lights on or off I also have a Inkbird controller for the humidity which is set to 60Rh with a humidifier in one socket and a dehumidifier in the other......the dehumidifier has not had to work yet (I think down to fans clearing air when temps go up) Humidity goes from 65Rh max down to 30Rh when fans kick in again humidity sensor is at canopy level I have my humidifier pointed at my oil filled radiator I have an oscillating fan which is on another timer set to come on 20mins in morning and 20mins at night I have this pointed at the back of my oil filled radiator so blows warm are and the humidifier outlet towards my babies Temps go up as this happens which in turn brings on my extract/inlet fans I have 2 x 600W LED viparspectra lights side by side 22inch above canopy on 18/6 at the moment I have planted in B & Q Verve mulitcompost and so far only given water My fans are 4inch on a speed controller

  11. hi all. so ive been reading a lot about COBs and my interest is piqued. Clearly LEDs - COBs in particular - are finally starting to rival/take over from HIDs in terms of yield and spectrum (if not yet price) but what really interests me is a different kind of potential which I think they might have. LEDs dont need the kind of bulky reflectors an HPS bulb does, so it should, theoretically, be possible to hide one behind a standard domestic ceiling light fitting. (even if it has to be a bespoke built unit) also they can be dimmable, so the idea (the dream!) is to do this in a bathroom/wetroom and rig the door to trigger the dimer function when the handle is turned, so that it looks only as bright as a normal domestic light when the door is opened. if popo ever come looking all they get is a couple of (monster) plants in a bathroom with no sign whatsoever of any grow equipment at all. (C.F. would be housed behind dummy bathroom extractor unit and nutes would be coming in through the shower head from a second water tank (res) in the attic ... run to waste in coco and kick back. "they just grew like that officer" I know how to do the rest of it but im not a spark. i know it has to be possible so my technical question to anyone who really understands the electronics is ... 1) how hard would it be to remote trigger the dimmer function? can it be done realistically? and 2) what type of opaque/ 1 way glass would you use in the fitting to minimise any loss of lumen intensity from the COB? Hope that makes sense, thanks in advance for any help or research resources, stay safe. cheers MM
  12. Hi guys, been looking into leds a bit more and seen some amazing results with skyline 400w leds. Has anybody bought these or got any experience with them? or even better got a link to a diary with them? Only seen one diary on here with them and results were good to say the least. Thanks.

All beans popped after 24/30 hrs.. first lot popped on 11/11... had about 10 days in little pots, first water in big pots with 5 litlre water with 1/2 teaspoon added "Q4 rootmore".. then watered with "maxicrop take root" . i dont really measure nowdays haha just a splash so im at about 3 and a bit weeks.. flowering should start soon on the autos.. Snaps to follow.. currently transfering from android to mac which is a fekin pain in the ass !!!
  16. Just introducing myself , from south Wales UK .... Growing for ten years now , tent , greenhouse and outdoor . Lean more to the LED side indoor these days with Quantum boards and Cobs . Looking forward to learning some new tricks on here and open for questions from my own experience"s .....
  17. Hi all, I have purchased some KING LED lights, listed as 2000w (1400w HPS equivalent). I put some good sized plants under these lights, they certainly run with a lot cooler temperatures (heat wise), however, I found my plants were pretty much doormant on the growing scale, or at least very, very slow. I initially had two of these lights in the 150x150 tent, I found the leaves were curling upwards into a closed position, so I removed one light, this solved the issue, but still the growth was extremely slow, I found the stems were growing very strongly and well, but all other matter was not. I reverted to putting in a 1000w HPS bulb, and found the growth to be as normal, as expected, I am very disappointed that these LED lights seems to be next to useless. Has anyone else had any experiences with these lights? Thanks

  22. Hi all After completing two consecutive grow diaries on here I am at the point now of looking to change a couple of lighting aspects in my room, you can see my lighting set up on any of my sigs below. But as a long story put short, in my loft room, (which has a grow space of 2.3m wide, 1m long with lights hanging at 1.8m high), I am currently using a 400w Meizhi unit for the left hand side of my space, with a 600w HPS in the middle raised slightly higher due to hot spots they give, with a MARS 600w on the right side of the room. After using these lights now for 2 grows on the bounce now my findings are that the MARS light is crap and kicks out popcorn IMO. The meizhi grows well in the middle of its footprint but does not give a high enough par in the corners of its footprint, so nice buds in the middle but popcorn again on the outside, but with the HPS next to it gives good crossover and this is where the best colas are formed. Now, as a skint northerner I cannot afford top dog equipment (like the Gammablaster or a KIND), but I do okay. I am looking into the possibility of upgrading my setup and want to know if making a quantum board or an equivalent of these is possible to do in the UK right now? Or at bare minimum a unit that can replace the MARS bar piece of turd. Longer term, I also want to get the HPS out there before the summer comes as lofts get really hot, and while winter is manageable for keeping temps up with the HPS and a heater, summertime I need the coolest units I can run. So me and a friend are looking at learning how to make a unit, I am aware I can buy QB's online, but does anybody know how to, or if its possible right now? Ive seen them in action and they do look good, but what would the cost of the parts be to supply and run in a 2m x 1m area? This would be for flowering only, given a week or so of veg time, but I have another cab for that. So thats where Im at, or do I just buy that big ass kingbo unit on amazon lol? At this stage, any information would be useable right now, if you need to see my setup the critical orange punch diray is the lastest and you can see the dimensions/space I run this hobby in. Thanks for your time in reading. Peace MMT
  23. Hi all, so I've just joined up. I wanted to start growing my own flower, mainly because im tired of the crap chemical laced stuff available here. This will be my first ever grow and im hoping to document it on here to share my experiences but also to get some valuable help from you guys where possible too! My Set up 75cm X 75cm X 200cm Bud Box Pro Tent ViparSpectra 600w LED (270watt draw with veg and bloom switches) Hydrotops Bioponics Nutrients formulated for hard water areas CalMag Wilma Dripper System Kenley intake fan 4 inch Black Orchid 4 inch Mixed Flow outtake fan 2 oscillating fans, one at bottom one at top coco coir 60/40 perlite smart pots 2 X Original White Widow IBL, 1 X Critical by Royal Seeds, 1 Dutch Kush from Paradise Seeds I started with 3 widows, 3 dutch kush and 1 critical but only these 4 showed heads through the soil Ive decided to mainline all 4 plants, and at time of writing ive done all 4 with various levels of success! I used the paper towel method to germinate before putting the roots in to soil to avoid giving nutes for first few weeks. after 2 weeks i transferred in to coco coir I water my ladies twice a day for 15 minute intervals, once when the lights turn on and once about half way through PH sits around 6.0 if it falls within .1 i leave it. PPM has been about 900+ (my water is 500 from the tap) Ive noticed over the past few weeks the plants we struggling a little with some yellowing and then holes developing on the leaves. Ive purchased yellow sticky pads from the local hydro store and ive removed the effected leaves as i think its thrips and don't want it to spread. I will start adding pics in chronological order, i hope you guys enjoy the ride!
