  1. Hi guys. I have a few photoperiod soil grows under my belt now and have improved every time. Just out of interest and wanting to expand on my knowledge, I have bought some gorilla glue autos. I’m wanting to also try coco now for the first time. Usually I use biobizz and have had good results but I know coco is an inept medium so no microherd (or this is my understanding correct if wrong). So I have ordered canna a+b. Do I need a calmag and if so which one suits the canna. Also any tips for autos/coco would be great.
  2. Hey all, Huge problem, I've not even planted in the soil and my runoff ppm (should I be measuring runoff anyway?) is ridiculous... about 2400ppm. The PH is also around 7. I've used a mix of bioterra plus soil, biobizz light mix, perlite, an innoculant, kelp meal, EWC and a half to quarter dose of the following: maxicrop seaweed extract, GH nectar (humic acid) and literally one or two drops of bio silicon. None of the things I've added should cause the kind of readings I'm seeing surely? I know the bioterra soil is pretty heavy to begin with but it's probably less than half bioterra. The meters I'm using are pancellent... easily found online. They seem to be accurate on my tap water so I can only assume they're accurate on the runoff. So anyone have any ideas what I've done? Alternatively, I have a little cabinet of materials which I can use to completely restart the soil: EWC Bioterra plus Biobizz lightmix Kelpmeal Rootgrow innoculant Perlite Guano I've got a pretty extensive compost brewing kit so I'm intending on only using the biocanna line lightly. Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Hey 420, I’m wondering what medium to use. It says on the auto pot website to use a 50/50 mix of coco or soil with perlite or clay pebbles. I’m wondering should I mix canna professional plus with clay pebbles or buy/use the gold label 70/30 mix. it would be easier for me to just use the 70/30 but wanted to see what you guys would suggest... does anyboday have experience with either of these mediums in auto pots? Thanks
  4. I have been growing with ionic for years and can achieve some nice quality but just not the best yields. I am growing in a 1.2 x 1.2 tent and everything is for personal use so I'm aiming more for quality but the maximum yield I have achieved has been about 15oz dried. I have read a lot about growers aiming for 1g/watt and am pretty sure I will never get there with ionic. I have grown in soil, coco and recently switched to the autopots all using ionic and I'm thinking it's time for a change. I have done a lot of reading and think I'll go with canna, Dutch pro or growers ark, for base nutes at least. Does anyone have experience using these preferably with the autopots? Also is there one additive/supplement that you wouldn't go without? As I said I'm looking for quality over quantity but the best of both worlds would be nice haha. Cheers
  5. Welcome to my humble offering for the Sweet Seeds 2017 Diary Competition. Firstly, many thanks to Sweet Seeds for the free seeds, quite some deal - I send you no money and you send me three packs of seeds - I feel like I have already won before I started ! Here is a quick run down on the plan : Germinate the seeds in a 40x40x160 tent with a 125w Blue CFL using the good old fashioned standard - Wet tissue paper laced with 2ml per litre of Rhiztonic. Pop them into some Root Riot cubes and allow them to rise and root up. Once rooted their first pot will be a 0.7l square filled with Clover soil. Once they outgrow the small tent I shall transplant them into their final pots, 11 litre square's, once again using Clover soil but also with some additional organic bat guano - 1 litre mixed in with 80 litres of soil. Once in their final pots they will complete the journey in the big tent - 70x170x180 with 2 air cooled hoods holding 600w bulbs. I am using dimmable ballasts so can range from 400-1000w each if needed. Blue MH bulbs will go in to begin with then when flowering I can switch to the Red bulbs. Feeding will be kept simple, Rhizotonic all the way through until a few weeks before the end, Canna Start possibly whilst starting to veg out, Biobizz Fishmix once in full veg and in final pots, and finally Biozbizz Grow & Biobizz Bloom as appropriate. I live in a hard water area so doubt I will suffer from cal mag issues, but just in case, I do have a fresh bottle of Canna Trace Mix, so if there appears to be any kind of deficiency showing I will give them a few doses of this. Seed selection was difficult. Ideally I need a warehouse to fulfill my dreams, with a tent of every breed possible, but I had to settle on three. It was tough ! Jack47 (fast version) - I always kept looking this one up but its one of the more expensive ones - And I'm a tight arse Sweet Cheese (fast version) - I have done Sweet Cheese Auto a few times and even got a few hundred of my own seeds crossed with a SuperSkunk Auto male. My current favourite flavour. Sweet Skunk (fast version) - I couldn't resist, I am hoping to find a really deep skunky pheno, fingers crossed ! I will take clones, I would like to have a few mother plants. There are plans for a shed, in March I hope, if this happens then there will be a midnight move down to the end of the garden into a grow area twice the size of the tent. We will see ! They say a picture paints a thousand words. I agree. With this in mind I shall be setting up my DSLR camera on a little tripod with a timer so I can create a time lapse video to share with you all. I did a first attempt a while back which was pretty cool, I shall add it below. The plant in the video is now 82 days old and close to cropping, a Killer Kush Auto Last night I put all seeds into their tissue paper and covered them with a plant pot, it was nice and warm in the small tent with the 125w cfl powered up. Most of the seeds have cracked open and are showing their tap root, here a few pictures to get this diary started. Jack47 after 24h with a heavy watering of 2ml/litre Rhizotonic Sweet Cheese Sweet Skunk All seeds were put in to Root Riots And then heavily watered with the 2ml/litre Rhizotonic and put under the plastic hood of a propagator Happy smokes everyone !
  6. Hi all ! My 10th grow, with the aid of the forum, my 6th with Sweet Seeds goodies. I have upgraded my setup a little. There are now two lights in the tent, squeezed in with the carbon filter, the fan is now outside the tent, the air cooled hoods are identical and I have hooked it all up in one long line across the tent with jubilee clips and 6" ducting, I am also using yo-yos for easy rising and lowering of the lot. New bulbs also, identical, got two blue omega bulbs 600w and two red for flowering later. New airstone in each Wilma 4 pot and hooked up to a timer to blast out for 15m every 6h. Currently the plan is to grow just 8 plants, 4 Crystal Candy on the left Wilma, then 2 Killer Kush and one of both Green Poison and Sweet Cheese in the other Wilma. I am hoping to find a mother I can clone and keep for a few runs - we will see ! Almost all of the plants rose on Easter Monday, putting the plants at two weeks old tomorrow. They have just been rooting up in their little root riots and then in some coco in a small plant pot - Today I put them in their Wilma's, and the ones I am not going to keep are potted into fabric pots and in soil, destined for elsewhere later. Currently reservoirs have the following nutes in : 100ml Canna start 100ml A + B Canna Vega 100ml Atazyme Lights are on 20/4 cycle, water pump is on 24h.

  9. Hey, lurking for a while but this is my first post! Recently invested in an 8-pot Autopot system with a 100ltr reservoir, will be growing in a 70/30 coco/perlite mix and was looking for some advice on which brand of nutrients to use. I've been eyeing up the Cyco Platinum range or the Canna Coco nutes, but I'm aware Canna also have Hydro nutes. Anyone have any advice or recommendations regarding these or any other nutes? If anyone has grown in Autopots with coco before would definately appreciate you chipping in your 2 cents. Open to all ideas. Thanks guys
  10. Welcome to my new diary. I have started early instead of in the New Year. I have nuked the grow room and setup everything so making an early start ! The four Sweet Seeds plants will be sharing the tent with some subbie seeds I got from these forums, Oldtimes bx, so one 4 pot wilma for the Bigfoot & Cream47, and subbie seeds in the 2nd wilma. I have two seeds of each gifted to me by Sweet Seeds Tommy earlier this year at the festival in Peterborough. The Green Poison which were part of the gift pack will need to wait for the next grow, I may even add them to my guerilla project, we will see. Canna Start & Atazyme will be the nutes to begin with and will move onto Canna Aqua Vega/Flores in due course. The 1100w dimmable ballast is ready with its blue bulb at 400w, with the rhino pro 6" fan and carbon filter inside the tent (170cm long, 60cm deep, 180cm high), plus I have an 8" Fan and Filter in the room outside the tent I run - no smell is the goal. The seeds have opened, hence the start of the diary. I have been soaking the rockwool cubes in ph6 water with the tiniest drop of Canna Start, the seeds are now in the rockwool - These will be transplanted into the clay pebbles later. Updates as things happen. Quick pic, note how the Sweet Seeds are moving whilst the subbie seeds are still working out they are gonna need to open :
  11. hello, hello, Hi. taken the long overdue dive into the world of growing. have been set up 5 days now. setup is as follows, 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.0 tent, 600w hps light, 5" fan and filter, 9" oscillating fan, nine 16l rootpouch pots filled with canna coco 60/40 pebbles mix and im using canna I got my babies on sunday, they came looking healthy in rockwool cubes with decent rootage. I transplanted into the 16l rootpouches pretty much as soon as. I watered them with room temp water with a little rhizotonic untill I had run off in the tray. really thought they would have livend up a little by now but they seem to be drooping and the leaves curling down, the little ones at the top seem to be curling round the most and are a very pale green. they also all have purple stems more or less all over. also some yellowing of some of the nine. i am going to try take pictures and upload tonight very shortly. so hello everybody and anyone have any inclination of what could be happening?? any info would be much appreciated
  12. I am new to the forum and enjoy reading the opinions of so many people. I have a fair few years of growing under my belt and probably over 50 grows since 1985 when I first started. It might be more like 100... I digress! In the old days we butchered 400 watt warehouse lights and made reflectors out of any old sheet metal, normally from the skip of a local firm. There wasn't any Coco but there was soil and basic feeds from AG Shield, Pickerings or Comptons Agriculture were Pot Nitrate, Mono KP, Epsom Salts and Lawn Feed were made into stock solution etc. We used to veg for a size of about 24 inches and flower until the pistils went brown, the smoke was never flushed and it was strong stuff the old original Afghan strains we later called Skunk 1 and 2, but until about 1990 we could only get seeds out of VIZ, the comic for adults! I remember smuggling 50 JH seeds shoplifted by a 'mate' from Amsterdam, i was sick with anxiety all the way home on that horrible ferry to Hull, I never realised it was legal to buy the seeds! Most plants produced around 5 ounces with nothing more than topping and feeding your own brews out of a tomato growing book or indeed anywhere you could get a recipe from. Most farm supplies had brochures, leaflets or instructions as to the use of most chemicals, so a mixture in pounds and ounces got weighed out on mums kitchen scales of Pot Nitrate, MKP, Lawn Iron, Epsom Salts, Horse mineral supplement and Molasses, it kind of worked! The leaves were our guide as we couldn't get or we wasn't aware of EC meters until 1990? We also discovered Canna A-B around 1990 and bloom boosting with MKP and the good old Corn Syrup fed to pigs, bloody good stuff that was! Anyway the leaves yellowed, curled up, curved, swerved, spotted, dulled and went every colour from red to dark purple before harvest but the smoke was knock out and yielded well, certainly 5 ounce as an average. These days if I try hard and go 30 inch in veg with a commercial strain like BB/NL or WW then its near to 8-9 but as a normal grow in Coco with Blue its 4-6 and yeah its stinkier but commercials like the old NL were better for you're stealth as they were low odour! I have an old Polaroid somewhere (that was a photograph that developed inside a liquid folder after popping out of your dads camera for the babies among you) depicting my prize 4 plants under a single 400 with a fan the size of a 747 turbine ducted up and out of our mums old cellar! I hope I can find it because those babies were pretty impressive tops! So today we spend £35 on a base feed like Canna Coco A/B which is fair enough for 5 litres but for the 4 plant man buying a litre its £15!!! The Canna base range of Coco, Soil and Hydro are the best available in my opinion. I remember it when it was clear and contained no iron or copper sulphate. Then we have the 'additives' pro bloom booster, micros, silicate, hammerhead, bud blood, bio boost, top gun, bud candy, terpinator, resinator, pk13/14, cannazyme, zone, rhizotonic.... blimey we should be growing our own Penicillin! I am not an addict for the additives but I do love to open a bottle in my local shop of something new and miraculous that promises me big, oily, tasty buds, mega lush growth and stems the thickness of Arnies forearm... but my question is "Do they work? Do some work? Do none of them work? Or do the nutrient companies just cash in our desire for better product and our gullible trusting nature... We aren't wary of the advertisers or videos on You Tube because anyone who dares to comment with "I used it and its rubbish" gets removed! Or at least mine did... This is a little bit tongue in cheek and obviously we are all adults with a brain and can choose whether we go spend £20 on a bottle of water that contains a secret ingredient we can't be enlightened with... How did Advanced Nutrients retain their credibility when the 0-50-30 Bloom Booster Pro got dropped because people cottoned on to the fact it was just MKP, Iron Chelate mixed with some copper sulphate and then ground to a finer powder to look and smell amazing! We are now told that KP ratio should be 1-2 not 2-1 but wouldn't a big nute company like AN have known this for years? Of course they would because researching the needs of a crop is easy for a fertiliser manufacturer. Can you imagine YARA turning round after 15 years of selling the Vitamax mixture of 20-10-20 to Potato farmers saying "oh sorry chaps but actually we've got that wrong its now changed to 20-20-10 but don't worry you've only lost about 20 ton of spuds" I think you get the picture... Also can someone tell me the significance of PK 13/14 if the PK ideal is 1-2? It just so happens that the ratio of NPK showing 0-1-2 is none existent in commercial fertiliser so that includes 0-10-20 or 0-20-40 etc and why? Well because some turd at a nutrient company saw we couldn't go out and buy it from the local agricultural suppliers at £30 for a 25 kilo sack so decided to make their own and then poison our brains with a new regime of 0-1-2 as the miracle formula!!! Or am I just getting cynical in my old age...
