      I had a look inside a humidifier with the same problem and I couldn't figure out a simple way to bypass the microcontroller, it was easier to just buy a cheap simple one that did stay on by itself. It's worth taking yours apart to have a look in case it's a different design though. You'd have to include the float switch in the bypass circuit so it still switches off when it runs out of water.   I bought my new simple humidifier on ebay very cheaply because it was listed incorrectly as a DEhumidifier.

      Most people would have taken her on the 10th but look at what that extra week did for her I have lost many plants saying just one more week but these pictures show what that one more week can do nice job growing her to her full potential
